What's this?

Schuberth C3W Ladies Helmet

The Schuberth C3W Helmet is the first flip-up helmet specifically designed and manufactured for women based on extensive research on the female head and facial shape. The inner lining has been re-engineered, taking into account smaller head sizes as well as a woman's narrower facial structure. The C3W features special memory-foam padding for women offering greater comfort, and thus, greater safety. The Schuberth C3W is highlighted by the subtle ecru colored lining which is made of special micro-fiber material that is antibacterial, hypo-allergenic and is easy to clean

Just like the standard fit C3, the C3W is the smallest, lightest, most compact modular helmet on the market.

Note: C3W has a narrow neck roll opening and snug cheekpads to occlude noise, neck roll will break in by about 5%, cheekpads by 15-20%.

Engineered for Women!
Yes, we are shapely even in the head! That said this is the first helmet I have owned where my cheeks were not squished together.

I purchased this helmet on a Saturday received it the following Wednesday and left for a 4,300 mile trip on Friday.
I was able to remove my liner and install a non-Schuberth communication set and reinstall my liner in 5 minutes flat. Removal and installation was intuitive.

Liner: I like the beige liner since it does not show my makeup. I also like the smooth and soft feel of the material.

Airflow Channels: I am impressed with the airflow channels. Again due to the shapeliness of my head I have never felt the airflow through my other helmets. With the C3W there is an actual current that I can feel go down my neck. This air current when it is hot is great as it is a natural cooling system. In cooler temps closing the air vent helps but a gator to insulate the neck and head works great.

The visor: I rode the first 2,000 miles with the yellow protective covering on the pin-lock shield it was nice as it cut some of the glare. I have not had any fogging very nice. The sun-visor is the bomb! Cuts down on; 1) purchasing and packing a dark visor and 2) time changing visors and making unnecessary stops. The gradient adjustment allows the visor to be placed at just the right location, is natural in color so when you get use to it you don't know that it is being used. I got some pretty strange looks from people.

Quiet: This is by far the quietest helmet I have ever owned. I have custom ear plugs that I ALWAYS use with my other helmets because the wind noise makes my ears ring. As a test I rode without them - no buzzing, ringing, or popping. I also noticed that when I took the helmet off the general noise level in businesses were very loud.

Weight: The helmet is light. I did not experience neck or shoulder pain even after riding 3 consecutive 850 mile days. The C3W is a de-LIGHT to wear.

Typical Schuberth quality
I purchased this helmet for my wife because of how happy I am with my Schuberth C3. She agrees and says the C3W is an awesome helmet. It is super quiet, comfortable, and well made. There is absolutely nothing bad we can say about this helmet, other than the fact that it will seriously lighten your wallet. Just chalk that up to getting what you pay for. Oh, we also have both experienced the sun visor developing a film that, when the sun hits it, spreads the light and totally blinds you. Washing the film off with a damp, soft cloth did the trick. We are now careful to store the helmet in a way that lets any small amount of moisture evaporate. When putting my helmet away I extend the sun visor and open the face shield...this seems to do the trick.

Please be aware that you won't be getting any Zilla Cash for buying this. I ordered this helmet on 11/22/13 and also noted that it said there would be a 3-5 day processing delay before it shipped. I then had to choose between getting the helmet from Revzilla despite the shipping delay and no Zilla Cash or getting it immediately from a local vendor but paying more, which to me was a total wash. Revzilla has always been good to me so even though I needed the helmet as a gift I figured I'd cut it close and give them my business again. Unfortunately, the helmet didn't end up shipping until December 11th. This extra delay (beyond the 5 business day processing time) meant that it was at UPS' north Texas sorting facility just in time for the freak arctic storm that shut things down for awhile, delaying things even further. Finally got the helmet on December 16th.

In a way the helmet was an even greater surprise since it arrived so late it was totally unexpected. I don't hold Revzilla at fault here since stuff like this happens, especially when you know you are cutting it close like I did. I just mention it so people know that if they see the little "3-5 day processing" message to order extra early if the item is needed by a certain date and also not to expect Zilla Cash when ordering this helmet.

This is a great product.
This is my wife's first modular helmet and she liked it on her first ride as soon as she realized she had to take out her ponytail. Excellent quality.

Costly, but cheaper than an MRI
Yes, Schuberth helmets are at the top of the price line, but you get what you pay for. This is the quietest helmet I have worn in more than 10 years of riding and the visibility is excellent. The built-in sun visor means no more uncomfortable sunglasses pinching my ears under the helmet. Unlike a lot of helmets, this one can be put on or taken of without having to remove you gloves. Simply put .... love it.

Good investment
This is my first helmet, and I spent a LOT of time researching what would fit me and will not bothersome to my practicing my riding skills. After reading all C3W great reviews, I decided to invest in a C3W Matte black Medium. I was amazed of how light it is and the softness of the inner lining. I love the sun visor and the flip-up features. It's somewhat quiet, but I felt I still could hear the whistling wind when I'm in highway. So if you want a complete wind proof, you might want to go with C3 Pro.

Pricey helmet but worth it
Bought this helmet when Revzilla had them on sale which made it a little more affordable. First impression - great styling, lightweight and slick features. As a women's helmet it definitely has smaller profile - which I like. It has smooth, comfortable padding and is a nice quiet helmet when riding. Had good airflow on a hot day but was still hot. Good modular function with the chin lifting smoothly. The sun visor is a good size and works well.

great helment but may need some tweaking
Use the size chart for your basic fit, though you *might* have to make additional adjustments. I measured as a 'small' and the helmet fit perfectly for me at the forehead/crown but the cheek pad area was still way too large for my jaw. Here's where I wonder if the women's "pro" version might not fit better? It looks like they refined the cheek sizing even more for that helmet.

I ordered XXS replacement cheek pads and swapped them out. The fit is now perfect everywhere. Swapping the cheek pads wasn't difficult, though attention is required: many snaps, feed-throughs & velcro. It's just tricky enough that you want to get it right the first time.

Since the helmet itself is a round oval & the smaller sizes (XXS,XS, S) all share the same shell size, depending on your specific features, you might be good ordering down--if you know you have a very narrow jaw. Either way, you *may* end up having to swap either the cheek or head liners. But once the fit is there, it really is freakishly comfortable. If you're not rocking an elf-like jaw--the size chart's probably fine. Am very happy with this can now.

Love the flip down shades, though as others have reported, mine had a haze to it that had to be gently washed off.

Better than expected.
We bought this helmet mainly to help my wife get the helmet off and on easier, and because she wears glasses, to assist putting those on and off. After trying the helmet on once and slipping her glasses on we knew it was the correct chose. I am very impressed with the quality and she is pleased with the comfort. Thanks Revzilla for the phone calls and answering my questions and offering a premium product for the price.

Fantastic Helmet
I love my Schuberth C3w! It was a little tight at first, I wear a small, but it is super comfy after I broke in the cheek pads. The ventilation feels amazing on my head on the fwy at speed, the helmet can still get pretty warm just zipping around town. I love it.
