Schuberth C3 Pro Observer Helmet

The Rolls Royce of motorcycle helmets, the Schuberth C3 Pro has been designed to improve on the original C3, which was already one of the quietest and most technologically advanced helmets to date. The rear spoiler, which has been optimized during extensive wind tunnel testing, turns the C3 Pro into a real sport helmet, demonstrating outstanding aerodynamic properties at high speeds in excess of 100 mph. Thanks to the extremely snug fit and enhanced aeroacoustics of 82 dB(A) at 100 km/h the C3 Pro is one of the quietest helmets in the world.

The C3 Pro is also prepared to accept the integrated Schuberth SRC System, the C3 Pro also incorporates two integrated antennas for increased Bluetooth range and better FM radio reception. The inner lining is made of carefully selected materials such as COOLMAX, Interpower and Thermocool and has been extensively re-shaped and redesigned setting high benchmarks with respect to comfort.

Features:

  • The shell is aerodynamically tuned, providing more downforce and reducing buffeting
  • Interior helmet sound levels have been reduced to 82 dB(A) at 60 mph {C3 84 dB(A)}
  • Interior liner has been designed with fewer seams and a more universal interior fit
  • Improved EPS with integrated antennas for SRC-System which improves radio and Bluetooth range
  • Micro-lock ratchet chin strap
  • Large reflective panels on neckroll
  • Improved faceshield ratchet mechanism
  • Integrated sun visor

Acoustics:

A quiet helmet means active safety for the motorcyclist. This permits the rider to concentrate on riding – particularly at higher speeds. Many hours in the Schuberth acoustics wind tunnel have ensured that the C3 Pro is as quiet as Schuberth could make it. The comprehensive acoustics package with optimized helmet shell, wind deflector and ergonomic shape of the neck padding make the C3 Pro – at 82 dBA – one of the quietest helmets on the market.

  • Acoustics package makes helmet quiet
  • Installation of a wind deflector further improves aeroacoustics
  • Only 82dB(A) at 100 km per hour (with naked bikes)

Outer Shell:

The outer shell of the Schuberth C3 Pro is offered in two helmet shell sizes and combines an aerodynamically optimal shape with excellent protection. It is manufactured using Schuberth's typical compression molding process and thus permits great stability and a low weight.

  • Shell material: S.T.R.O.N.G. fiber
  • Helmet shell technology from SCHUBERTH permits low weight
  • Glass fiber with a special resin added is compressed in a vacuum at high pressure to form a helmet shell which is exceptionally sturdy
  • Perfected aerodynamics for higher speeds
  • Upward lift = 0!
  • Directionally stable
  • No oscillatory tendency
  • No buffeting
  • Spoiler integrated into the helmet shell

SRC-System Ready:

The C3 Pro equipped to accommodate the SCHUBERTH SRC-System C3 Pro (sold separately). To guarantee ideal radio reception, the C3 Pro is already equipped with two integrated antennas to boost FM and Bluetooth reception.

  • Optimum reception at all times
  • FM and Bluetooth antennas integrated into the helmet for optimum reception

EPS:

The EPS foam liner is modular in design to ensure optimal shock absorption. This complex segmentation guarantees enhanced force absorption and distribution.

  • Made of specially optimized EPS foam
  • Complex multizone foaming allows optimal shock absorption

Inner Lining:

A special inner lining of the C3 Pro which was developed according to Schuberth's  innovative Comfort Fit concept that ensures the helmet fits comfortably and securely in all situations. The combination of carefully selected COOLMAX and Thermocool materials, with the additional use of Interpower coatings, also make the inner lining a highly-effective moisture removal and cooling system.

  • COOLMAX pad system, completely removable and washable (hand wash, 30°C)
  • Optimized fit
  • Variable venting for effective ventilation
  • Adjustable for summer/winter
  • Allergen-free
  • Antibacterial
  • Removable comfort cheek and head band pads

Ventilation:

Thanks to the design of the vents, the supply of fresh air is increased by up to 60%. The combination of multipath channels in the EPS foam liner and the head/chin/mouth ventilation ensures that fresh air is distributed effectively over the entire head area.

A.R.O.S. and Neck Strap:

The Anti-Roll-Off System (A.R.O.S.) was especially developed by SCHUBERTH as a safety feature and is incorporated into every SCHUBERTH motorcycle helmet. It ensures that the helmet cannot roll off of the head when the chinstrap is closed and correctly adjusted:

  • The helmet cannot pivot off the head from behind
  • The risk of contact between the chin section of the helmet and the chin or throat of the rider is minimized due to the small angle of tilt
  • Reduces the chance of the helmet coming into contact with the chest as the result of an accident
  • Precise setting of the chinstrap length through adjustment on both sides
  • Micro-lock ratchet lock

Face Shield:

The EasyChange visor mechanism makes changing visors extremely quick and simple without the use of tools.

  • City position offers maximum ventilation while traveling at slower speeds
  • Pinlock visor prevents shield from fogging

DOT and ECE certified

Note: Helmet ships with clear face shield.

Revillza is Amazing!
I waited for a Large size C3 Pro to come available in a graphic scheme I wanted for several months. Revzilla sent me an email from their system telling me my desired graphic style had just become available in my size. It took me two days to get to a place where I could place the order. And, two days later, the helmet was on my doorstep! Amazing!

I couldn't wait, and took my first ride in the helmet that night after work. While I don't believe the helmet flows any more air, or is dramatically quieter than my 12 year old Arai it is to replace, the comfort is much better! I can't wait to install the BMW Communicator product for my new K1600 that has yet to arrive.

Schuberth C3 Pro
I had the C3 which I was please with, but after the 5 yrs period, I had to shop for an other one. Schuberth was an option and the C3 Pro was clearly a good choice for the comfort, weight, visibility and safety. I bought the SRC system for the C3 that I was able to re-use on the C3 Pro "saved ~$400".
The E1 was very interesting but the noise level is way higher on road compared to the C3 Pro.
I had to say that the fit is very tight and I had to buy other cheek piece to get a better and more comfortable fit "this add to the overall cost".
I know, it's expensive but your head/life worth more then that "I hope!".

Good and okay
I have couple of helmets other regular one being Arai RX-Q Hi-Viz Neon, which I like. I have a dark shield on it. It is light, fits well and comfy easy on/off but not quiet enough on highway.

The C3 Pro - Good
-Looks and build quality
-I put a blue shield on - works good as I ride on clear days only.
-drop down shield works good as well with the blue when the sun is infront of you
- the quick release latch is good too
-Its quieter than the Arai and fits just as well and comfy
- The modular system is cool (pun intended) when at a red light you can let some air in

C3 Pro - Okay
- Putting it on is not as easy as the Arai both are SM/MD so I would say this runs slightly smaller. I have to open the front to put it on. has to do with the design of the helmet, not a big issue as it is modular.
- The pinlock (wierd name) system I am not sold on. I don't think it does a better job than my Arai. I do notice condensation on it, which is only a problem when you are standing still (same for all helmets). I just open the visor at a red light.
- The problem with pinlock is the reflection from the shield, I can see my own face when the sun is shinning infront of me even though I have the blue shield and all and that does bother me.
- I think it contributes to less clear view, no issues with the Arai view
- I just removed the pinlock (weird name) shield to see if the reflection issue gets any better otherwise I will try the gray shields $$ in case it is a issue with the blue shield

Best helmet I've ever owned
Well I finally broke down and bought it. The Holy Grail of helmets. I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed with this wonderful piece of gear. It's not 100% flawless, which I'll discuss, but all in all, this is without a doubt my favorite piece of equipment.

Lets start with the features. This is my first modular helmet, so I don't have much to compare that aspect to. You get a definite latch sound when the jaw piece is closed. It took a few tries to get used to the release mechanism, but after a few rides, I don't even have to think about it. I love the drop down sunvisor, and the clarity of it is unbelievable. Again, activating it took some getting used to, but I really like the slider action now.

I've never had a helmet that flowed more air than this one. On previous helmets, I honestly couldn't tell most times if the vents were open or closed. There's no mistaking it on this helmet. When in full open, there is a HUGE amount of air that comes through the top and around my head. Very well designed cooling ports.

The helmet is very stable at speed. I get very, very little buffeting on my CB750, and I can really feel the aerodynamics at work. I do get a bit of bouncing around on my GL1100, but that probably has more to do with the massive windscreen and buffeting from that. This helmet is incredible when it's in clean, open air.

Now onto the reason I bought it: the (lack of) volume. The helmet is noticeably quieter than any helmet I've owned, but it's not silent. Let's be honest, no helmet is going to replace earplugs. You still need them for anything more than around town, but it is still a very quiet place to be. I don't get any whistling or unusual wind noise, but this helmet is not going to totally eliminate sound.

It fit a little tight out of the box, but all helmets do. I followed the size guide exactly, and my helmet fits just right after a few hundred miles. It's broken in just right in all the right places.

My only complaint is with the ratcheting chinstrap. The design is brilliant, and is so intuitive and easy to use, but, and this is a big one, YOU CAN'T USE YOUR BIKE'S HELMET HOOKS ANYMORE!!!! There's no way to secure your new badass helmet to your ride. I've been using zip ties to secure it to my bike. I'm not too crazy about the idea, but I don't see any way around it.

The price? Well, it sucks, but it's well worth it. You can tell this is a finely built piece of equipment, not just another throw away helmet. Spend the cash. You'll be glad you did.

Worth the $$$
Only got to ride in it for about 100 miles so far. Not as quiet as I had hoped but I have unrealistic expectations. Quieter than my Qwest, fit a bit smaller. Air flow is good with vents open but doing so increases the noise, as it does on all helmets. Worth the $$$ ? To me yes. Very comfy, like the chin strap system. Drop down visor works well, dark enough to be effective. Flip front operates very easily.

Great Helmet
So I made the mistake of purchasing two lesser expensive helmets to only buy a C3 Pro and Neotech only six months later. I love this helmet as do I the Shoei but this one seems lighter and a little quieter. My only issue with this helmet is the neck roll when installing a Sena 20s. You can not run the wires inside of the neck roll and have it seal correctly. Not sure why they didn't make a simple hole to run such cords through. I wish both Schuberth and Shoei would allow you to choose chin pad size when buying a $600+ helmet as I purchase the smaller pad for the Shoei and it is so much better but come on $50 for pads...lame.
