Schuberth C3 Pro Helmet

The Rolls Royce of motorcycle helmets, the Schuberth C3 Pro has been designed to improve on the original C3, which was already one of the quietest and most technologically advanced helmets to date. The rear spoiler, which has been optimized during extensive wind tunnel testing, turns the C3 Pro into a real sport helmet, demonstrating outstanding aerodynamic properties at high speeds in excess of 100 mph. With its enhanced aeroacoustics of 82 dB(A) at 100 km/h the C3 Pro is one of the quietest helmets in the world.

The C3 Pro is also prepared to accept the integrated Schuberth SRC System, the C3 Pro also incorporates two integrated antennas for increased Bluetooth range and better FM radio reception. The inner lining is made of carefully selected materials such as COOLMAX, Interpower and Thermocool and has been extensively re-shaped and redesigned setting high benchmarks with respect to comfort.

  • The shell is aerodynamically tuned, providing more downforce and reducing buffeting
  • Interior helmet sound levels have been reduced to 82 dB(A) at 60 mph {C3 84 dB(A)}
  • Interior liner has been designed with fewer seams and a more universal interior fit
  • Improved EPS with integrated antennas for SRC-System which improves radio and Bluetooth range
  • Micro-lock ratchet chin strap
  • Large reflective panels on neckroll
  • Improved faceshield ratchet mechanism
  • Integrated sun visor

A quiet helmet means active safety for the motorcyclist. This permits the rider to concentrate on riding – particularly at higher speeds. Many hours in the Schuberth acoustics wind tunnel have ensured that the C3 Pro is as quiet as Schuberth could make it. The comprehensive acoustics package with optimized helmet shell, wind deflector and ergonomic shape of the neck padding make the C3 Pro – at 82 dBA – one of the quietest helmets on the market.

  • Acoustics package makes helmet quiet
  • Installation of a wind deflector further improves aeroacoustics
  • Only 82dB(A) at 100 km per hour (with naked bikes)

Outer Shell:

The outer shell of the Schuberth C3 Pro is offered in two helmet shell sizes and combines an aerodynamically optimal shape with excellent protection. It is manufactured using Schuberth's typical compression molding process and thus permits great stability and a low weight.

  • Shell material: S.T.R.O.N.G. fiber
  • Helmet shell technology from SCHUBERTH permits low weight
  • Glass fiber with a special resin added is compressed in a vacuum at high pressure to form a helmet shell which is exceptionally sturdy
  • Perfected aerodynamics for higher speeds
  • Upward lift = 0!
  • Directionally stable
  • No oscillatory tendency
  • No buffeting
  • Spoiler integrated into the helmet shell

SRC-System Ready:

The C3 Pro equipped to accommodate the SCHUBERTH SRC-System C3 Pro (sold separately). To guarantee ideal radio reception, the C3 Pro is already equipped with two integrated antennas to boost FM and Bluetooth reception.

  • Optimum reception at all times
  • FM and Bluetooth antennas integrated into the helmet for optimum reception

The EPS foam liner is modular in design to ensure optimal shock absorption. This complex segmentation guarantees enhanced force absorption and distribution.

  • Made of specially optimized EPS foam
  • Complex multizone foaming allows optimal shock absorption

Inner Lining:

A special inner lining of the C3 Pro which was developed according to Schuberth's  innovative Comfort Fit concept that ensures the helmet fits comfortably and securely in all situations. The combination of carefully selected COOLMAX and Thermocool materials, with the additional use of Interpower coatings, also make the inner lining a highly-effective moisture removal and cooling system.

  • COOLMAX pad system, completely removable and washable (hand wash, 30°C)
  • Optimized fit
  • Variable venting for effective ventilation
  • Adjustable for summer/winter
  • Allergen-free
  • Antibacterial
  • Removable comfort cheek and head band pads

Thanks to the design of the vents, the supply of fresh air is increased by up to 60%. The combination of multipath channels in the EPS foam liner and the head/chin/mouth ventilation ensures that fresh air is distributed effectively over the entire head area.

A.R.O.S. and Neck Strap:

The Anti-Roll-Off System (A.R.O.S.) was especially developed by SCHUBERTH as a safety feature and is incorporated into every SCHUBERTH motorcycle helmet. It ensures that the helmet cannot roll off of the head when the chinstrap is closed and correctly adjusted:

  • The helmet cannot pivot off the head from behind
  • The risk of contact between the chin section of the helmet and the chin or throat of the rider is minimized due to the small angle of tilt
  • Reduces the chance of the helmet coming into contact with the chest as the result of an accident
  • Precise setting of the chinstrap length through adjustment on both sides
  • Micro-lock ratchet lock

Face Shield:

The EasyChange visor mechanism makes changing visors extremely quick and simple without the use of tools.

  • City position offers maximum ventilation while traveling at slower speeds
  • Pinlock visor prevents shield from fogging

Does this helmet have a way to lock to a motorcycle?
Kevin J on May 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: From Schuberth, you can buy a t-bar with a hole in it that slides thru the rachet mechanism and you can lock that to the bike.
Does this helmet have a way to lock it to the motorcycle?,I've watched a lot of videos and red reviews and haven't seen it mentioned.
A shopper on May 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It doesn't have any drings if that's what your looking for. It's a 700 dollar helmet I just keep it with me
I have a BMW R1200RT with a tall CeeBaily windshield. Will i get enough ventilation through the helmet when riding behind this tall windshield?
A shopper on Jan 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: That is a good question. I live in Georgia and it gets plenty hot in the summer. I have a new 1200RT with the stock windshield which I adjust high enough to quiet most of the wind noise but I'm still looking over the top. In the summer I often ride with my faceshield open and the sunshade down. I'm looking for all the ventilation I can get. I have thought at times that I would feel the air going thru the helmet better without a windshield. Having said that, I have yet to take my helmet off and had my head be sweaty. I guess that says something. Also, I have noticed that when I am riding with my faceshield open and then close it, I feel the cooling on my head from the increased airflow over my head. I believe that is because then the negative pressure at the back of the neckroll pulls air in through the top vents and evaporates any moisture on my head.

That is my real life experience with my C3Pro. Overall, I will say that I love my C3Pro. It is so comfortable and quiet that any other minor quibbles are easily ignored.

I apologize for taking so long to answer but I only just saw the request. I hope my experience as described here helps your decision making process.
I'm interested in buying one of the C3 pro. But I read the SHARP rating of this helmet, and felt uncomfortable with the result. Does it mean that this helmet is not up to their standard, or the testing methods are somehow not suitable?
A shopper on Jan 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Keep in mind that SHARP ratings are only applicable to helmets sold in the UK. The C3 Pro sold there differs from the DOT certified one sold here. That being said, the rating was not bad: it was 3 stars with the lowest score for side of the helmet impacts, and even there it was acceptable. The only 5 star system helmet they tested was the Shark Evoline (again, the European model) and that had a rating for the chin bar detaching that was significantly worse than the C3, so nothings perfect. Bottom line is that the C3 Pro is the best helmet I've worn in the 46 years I've been riding.
Will the Scala Rider G9 fit on the Schuberth C3 Pro?

It seems that the slide for the internal sun visor on the helmet would block the fit of this unit as it is designed for the left side of the helmet.

A shopper on Aug 12, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I own both the Schuber C3 Pro Helmet and a Scala G9 head set. My Scala G9 unit is mounted on my Shark helmet and I have a Schuber com sys on my C3 Pro Helmet. The G9 head set has a long boom mike and could be mounted aft of the internal Sunvisor slide. but would probably get in the way of the boom when you go to lower the visor. The Scala would also have to be mounted using the adhesive back mount as opposed to the clip mount.

Hope this is helpful.

Will the J & m speakers and Mic and speakers fit the helmet, Wired system ?
A C on Feb 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't know but knowing the design of the Schuberth and the quality fit, I wouldn't buy the J&M. If you've already got it, give it a try, otherwise I'd buy the Schuberth. Hope that helps.

Terence Duffy
is the pinlock antifog device meant to be installed and left on there for use fulltime? or is it something meant to be installed/uninstalled as needed? Obviously I have never used one.
A shopper on Mar 5, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The Pinlock system is used to keep the shield from fogging. Since both the lens and shield are clear, it is fine to keep the Pinlock lens in place all the time. Also, consider that the Pinlock lens is somewhat fragile and overhandling can cause scratches and dents. It is best to leave the Pinlock lens in place all the time.
Has anyone purchased a C3 or C3Pro in matte black finish? If so, how's the finish holding up and is it as easy to maintain as a gloss black finish? I've read mixed reviews on the longevity of the matte black finish (chipping, streaking, etc.). Thanks.
A shopper on Nov 10, 2013
BEST ANSWER: My matte black C3Pro's finish is holding up very well after ~6000mi of active touring. Just wipe bag and store. I chose the helmet because of its reputation as a rock-solid performer with light weight and good acoustics. but am pleasantly surprised by the finish's ability to resist abrasion. My Nolan and Scorpion helmets are also matte black but their finishes showed much more wear by this point. All faired much better than any of my gloss-finish lids (especially the Shoe's) and that's why I switched.
Does this helmet come with a soft helmet bag to protect it from scratches?
A shopper on Feb 10, 2013
BEST ANSWER: All current Schuberth helmets come with a high quality draw string helmet bag that is lined with a soft cloth material on the inside.
I have a Schuberth C3 and i have absolutely no room to move the chin when the helmet's closed. Does this C3 Pro version has more chin space?
A C on May 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, more chin room.
I had a C3 2XL and bought a C3 Pro 2XL and noticeably more chin room, including with new SRC Pro has a smaller microphone.
The whole arrangement with the triangular piece at the bottom front of chin that keeps wind out and also chin strap are better located for more room too.
