Light Smoke is just right
I didn't think the clear shield that came with my Schuberth Helmet was worn too bad, but after 20k miles it was time for a new shield. The light smoke shield is just right. Only a slight tint so it is okay for cloudy days and works well with the retractable sun visor in the sunshine. When it's time to replace your clear shield I recommend the light smoke one.

Light smoke visor perfect shade
The light smoke visor is the best one. It takes the glare off your vision unless extremely bright, then just pull down the internal shade visor. The light smoke tint also makes the helmet look better.
Way more expensive than other brands, you have no other choice though!

Light smoke C3 Visor
Schuberth visors aren't cheap. Neither are their helmets - but if they fit and you can afford them, you'll love them. I've always had Arai or Shoei - now I'm a convert.

Visors are either clear, light smoke or dark smoke. I returned dark smoke. Looked great but too dark for a range of uses I need. Dark is ok for very sunny but too dark if caught in the night or heavy rain. The light tint is very light, but sufficient just to take off the glare of the sun if not riding directly into it - then use the internal visor.

Have used at night and in the rain (dark cloud) and very little difference between this and the clear.

Happy it is just sufficiently dark enough when closed to look cool on helmet.

No noticeable distortion and pinlock system works a treat as always. These visors are lightweight.

Recommend this product.

Iridium Clarity and Darkness
The iridium shield is absolutely awesome! It's as dark as my Maui Jim sunglasses if not a little darker. The clarity is fantastic as is the lack of glare.
Eye fatigue was not an issue during a three day, 963 mile ride. It's worth the extra money.

Like a New Helmet Again! (And a fix for the airflow)
Eventually, you'll need this...at least if you own the helmet and use it for a period of time. My helmet was (over)due. About 25,000 miles from when I got my C3 in 2009--nope, that's right--let's just say there's no DOT sticker on it! Fortunately the new lid shield went straight onto my EU spec helmet no sweat. It's fantastic being able to see when looking into the sun and not having thousands of little crazy zig-zaggy scratches show up! It really makes it like having a new helmet all over again. Now I gave this low marks on the Airflow scale and if you have a Schuberth you know why. Riding along, put the shield up for a little air, hit 30mph and WHAM! the thing slams down to the closed position. Bummer. Well, just get a couple of furniture sliders (felt kind) and stick them inside the black area on the side of the shield's hinge with the helmet. You can find the right size and they'll go in that little hole like they were made for it! Now you can leave your shield up with no WHAM'ing shut. Problem solved.

Great for daytime rides.
The dark smoke shield looks badass and helps with bright sun. It's easy to change out for the clear shield the comes with the helmet for night rides. Quality, fit, and use are identical to the original lens. This the primary shield I ride with, and the dark color also helps keep the temps down in the helmet. Ride safe.

Great anti-fog device for Schuberth S2 helmet
Pro tip: Remove the yellow protective film! If you ride with this film on, it will be impossible to see properly and you will probably crash.

Pro tip 2: Handle it with cotton or microfiber gloves when installing/removing, or you will surely get annoying smudges on the inside!

If you own an S2, do yourself a favor and get the light tinted (50%) face shield and another one of these. I think the helmet should come with them, since it's a major upgrade over the clear shield that probably costs Schuberth little to manufacture.

Works as advertised. I've ridden on days where it starts to drizzle and buddies without pinlock get all fogged up, but no problems with this lens.

It lets me ride with the face shield down all the time, even in stop and go commuting traffic.

The dropdown sun visor on the S2 is another matter. It doesn't have anti-fog coating so it fogs up quickly. This doesn't help with that situation.

It does have a small amount of internal reflection that is noticeable much of the time, but not all of the time.

Germans love to charge a king's ransom for small plastic accessories that go on their premium-priced products. If you have ever owned a German car, owning this helmet will be familiar.

Light smoke is very light
I am only writing this review to comment on the light smoke tint. It is very light; much less tint than "light smoke" on my Icon Airmada helmet visor. This works for me because I want to be able to use it in all conditions, including low light such as rain and night.

It cost a lot, so must be better ... RIGHT?! A few reasons this might replace the 3 other relatively new helmets I own (2x HJC + 1x AGV). I have a giant head, so that narrows the choices (need 3XL). Several things about this new Schuberth prospect that made me choose it (compared to features lacking in my current lineup): flip-up front, ability to add audio / bluetooth etc, claimed reduced noise, and the specific matte metal color I chose is super unique.

A shopper on Mar 15, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I was wondering the same thing and rolled the dice for my C3 Pro and it is a perfect fit, identical to the stock visor fitment.
Is the iridium as dark as the blue mirror?
eugene w on May 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately I can only comment on half of your question. I own an Iridium face shield and the clear and the light-smoked as well. The Iridium shield is PERFECT for riding in sunny central Florida. However, the Iridium face shield provides poor visibility when riding in the rain, evening hours, and in areas of large shadows.

Never ride at night with the Iridium! So, your asking about a darkness comparison between face-shields is very smart! You may be very aware of all this so please PARDON my further sharing amplifying information about face-shield shading. I only ride with my Iridium on sunny days when no rain is forecast.

My preference is riding with the clear or light-smoked lens because of the HIGH potential for Summer rains in my region. This way if your ride goes late or it starts raining you will have visibility. I rely on the Inner Face Shield for sun-shading.

Again, you don't want to end up riding after sunset or in rain with an Iridium face shield! The Blue Face-shield appears to be very close in sun-shading to the Iridium but, I'm not 100% certain. I hope this helps.

Lastly, I think that both the Iridium and the Blue face shield look bad-ass! Aesthetically, they contrast well with Schuberth Helmets. Appearance is important but second to safety! You got to have visibility in order to operate a motorcycle safely.
What is the ranking on the tint? Which is darkest most specifically?
Derek W on Nov 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I think the iridium and dark smoke are a tie for darkest. Then blue mirror, then light smoke, then clear.
I have a face shield that is scratched, and will replace it soon. My question is about the inner pin lock lens - is it possible to remove it successfully and use it on the new face shield? Does the silicone bead remain usable? Thank you for your reply.
Keith V on Dec 18, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Keith V

My experience is that the "inner pin lock lens" can be removed from the old scratched lens and installed on the new lens. Remove the "inner pin lock lens" from the scratched outer lens by putting the outer lens on a table on a towel and spreading it to remove the "inner pin lock lens"
Wiped each piece to remove all finger prints.
Lay the new exterior part on a table on a towel.
Lock one end of the inner piece in place.
Spread the outer piece against the towel and at the same time push the inner piece toward the end that is locked in place. The inner piece may bow away from the spread outer piece a little. Once the inner piece's end that is not already locked in place is lined up and started on the pin collapse the hump on the inner piece and let the outer piece go back to its normal shape. I don't know if I explained it very clearly but that is the process I used.

Where I think I made a mistake is with the clear clear silicon bead that is on the "inner pin lock lens" and goes between the two lenses. The clear silicon bead seemed to be dirty so I cleaned it off. Now my lens fogs up. My guess is that there are two things between the two lenses. A silicon bead to create an air space and a wax like substance on the silicone that seals the system.

Is this just the face mask or does it come with the pin lock lens ?
James M on Aug 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: My helmet came with both the pinlock ready shield and the pinlock anti-fog shield.insert However the face shield is just the face shield and the replacements I've ordered don't include a new pinlock insert. You should confirm with Revzilla.but the website says the pinlock lens needs to be ordered separately.
Does this shield meet european standards for safety?
A shopper on Mar 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's made by Schuberth in Germany. Hard to imagine it doesn't meet European safety standards. It's a straight replacement for the one that comes on the helmet. Different European countries have different standards for the darkness of the tint if that's a concern.
Please help!

I have no clue how the little plastic seals or plugs that cover the holes in the visor are called. I searhced the whole web and I can't get info. One of this plastic plugs, caps o seals fell off and now the wind noise is a nightmare. I put some tape to the whole to solve the issue in the meantime. Does anybody knows if this is sold or if I have to buy the hole visor? Does the visor come with those caps? Will this visor fit an S2?
Diogenes I on May 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It is called a Pinlock and here is the link, they are very easy to replace and need replacing about every year or so:
http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/schuberth-c3pro-c3-c3w-s2-pinlock-lens-insert
Schuberth C3 Pro Modular Helmet face shield. I am in Phoenix and the clear shield allows to much of the sun rays onto my face. Even with the tinted visor down it's too intense when its about 100 degrees. In looking at the replacement face shield there is no info on UV protection. Is there a way to get more detail around the various replacement shield?
A shopper on Oct 12, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I did research on shields a few years ago because I had melanoma on my face. After spending a lot of time I found that "all" shields of all brands of helmets are in excess of 99% UVA & B proof wether lexan, plexiglass, whatever. This info is available from the plastic manufacturers also, i.e. DuPont etc..

Schuberth is a great helmet with a great shield. Anyone with glasses that change shade in the sun will attest to the fact that their glasses do not change behind a shield. That's because UV changes the glasses and the shield blocks the UV rays.

Does the "normal" C3 Pro helmet come with a face shield with the Pinlock tabs?
A C on Jul 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: In regard to the C3 Helmet, there is a C3 Pro and a C3 Pro Women. I own a set of the Legacy C3 and S2 with a combination of clear, light smoked, and Iridium tinted Face Shields. Both the new models are sold with a Face Shield and include an Anti-Fog Lens. The Anti-Fog lens attaches to the Face Shield by what the manual refers to as, "eccentric pins." The "PINS" are an integral part of the Face Shield and are required to attach the Anti-Fog Lens. The manual warns with a NOTE: "Never press the pins out with your fingers as they may break. Moreover, riding with the PINs removed will result in a lot of wind noise. (Once I lost one of the PINS but there is an extra set in the Anti-Fog Lens bag). So, Yes, the Face Shield comes with PINS. Also, if you purchase another (Replacement or different Tint) Face Shield it will also have the PINS installed (They color match the Face Shield). Incidentally, it is optionally to install the Anti-Fog Lens but, the PINS remain in place should you want to install the Anti-Fog Lens at another time. For example, I live in Florida and use the Anti-Fog Lens during the rainy season as fogging creates a visibility hazard.
For those who have this, would you say it is lighter than the drop down visor? Thanks -Sean
Sean F on May 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The face shield comes in thre colors Clear, Shaded and Dark, i have the shaed and it works well dark enough for sunny days and clear enough to use at night, when it is really bright and snny putting down the drop down visor is a big plus,, I haven't tied thedark thinking it might be too dark in combination with the drop down visor and then would need to change it at night, te shaded stas on alll the time, that way i do n ot carry an extra shield
