Sargent World Sport Adventure Touring Seat Triumph Tiger 800 / XC / XCa / XCx / XR / XRt / XRx

Continuing in the tradition of meticulously designed seating options, Sargent is pleased to offer the Sargent World Sport Adventure Touring Seat.

Utilizing advanced digital modeling, computer design techniques, precise manufacturing processes and superior materials, each World Sport Adventure Touring seat pan is precision-molded for superior fit and outfitted with high-quality hardware. Also featuring Sargent’s signature vacuum-formed PVC acrylic alloy seat pan, this super tough, lightweight material provides an exceptional high-performance seat foundation.

Gel-Free! Each Sargent World Performance seat offers superior comfort and suspension without the thermal retention and extra weight of gel. The Super Cell Atomic Foam suspension is a unique and proprietary blend of resilience, firmness, and vibration-absorption qualities. Most stock seats suffer from a crowned shape that centralizes pressure and creates discomfort. The level, wider and slightly cupped foam shape of the Sargent World Sport Seat distributes pressure evenly and eliminates hot spots for incredible long-distance comfort.

All Adventure Touring Seat features marine-grade, UV-stabilized, color-coordinated upholstery - hand sewn specifically to maximize the qualities of the Super Cell Atomic Foam.

Features:

  • Widened PVC seat pan for more lateral support
  • CarbonFX vinyl
  • Super Cell Atomic Foam for improved riding comfort
  • Eliminates forward slope and provides a more neutral seating position for the driver
  • Made in the USA

Note: Due to the neutral and widen seating position, the seat height will increase by 1-2" inches on the Stock Height option.

Great Seat!!
"Stock height seat set in the lower position. 2014 Tiger 800"

It fits the bike perfect and pillion seat removes easy. I have not had the problems the other review states. I have had one Sargent seat in the past for a DR650 and was very happy with it. This seat is a big improvement for both rider and passenger on the Tiger 800. Comfort and support is improved for both. The design of the pillion seat is more horizontal than stock and has a raised area in the front. This helps stop the passenger from siding forward when braking. (See pic comparing it to the stock seat)
In addition to the seat I will be adding a sheep skin cover and then I should be ready for the long haul. Headed to Red bay Labrador and back in August. 3,800 miles in 18 days. I hope I feel as good about this seat after the trip. :)

Great fit to bike far better than others I have tried.
Just got the seat for my 2011 Triumph Tiger 800 so can't speak to durability or performance or comfort at this point but I wanted to post this since another reviewer said it was difficult to install and remove and it didn't fit. The seat fit was about perfect and the installation and removal is exactly like stock. This is my second Sargent seat and this is the 4th seat I have for this bike, the stock one, the Triumph Gel Seat, Saddleman seat and now this. The Saddleman seat was better than anything from Triumph but not by much and the fit wasn't great. After an hour or so on the Saddleman I was sore and had to stand up to release pressure. The pan on the Sargent is wider than stock or Saddleman so I am hoping this one is far better as far as comfort. The build quality is first rate as is the finish. I'll repost after some seat time about comfort..The Excellent rating is based on what I know at this point.

Great Seat
I think you're getting a great seat for a good price. I say that knowing this seat is on the higher end of the price range. It would be a killer deal at $400, but at $600 I believe I'm getting what I would expect when paying that much.

Very comfortable. A little stiffer than I would like ideally, but everyone is a little different. MUCH better than my stock seat. I like that I can move around on it too. Back and forth depending on where I feel comfortable at the time. I've also used it when off-roading. No complaints there. I feel the same amount of control and stability as I did with the stock seat. I will probably get a lamb skin cover to make it just a tad softer. Much wider than my stock seat also provides great support. Very happy with the purchase.

Better than Stock
I ordered the Sargent seat immediately after I took a 2 hour ride on the stock Tiger seat, which was designed by Spanish monks from the inquisition. The seat is very comfortable, I was able to do a 7 hour ride over the weekend without a problem and very little pain.
Goods, wide pan like a tractor seat, more room to slide back, fits right up in the stock mounts took less than 5 min.
Bads. the material is slick it's hard to stay in place when going through the twisties or stopping hard. Back seat doesn't seem to work well with a top box, it forces the passenger to the back of the seat where the top box pad hangs over, so it's an awkward position making the passenger sit on the hump(wife hates it).

Fitment issue of diver seat on 2013 Triumph Tiger 800
First, my Tiger 800 roadie is setup for long distance sport touring - long days in the saddle covering long distances. The stock seat works for me for 1/2 day rides. Beyond that, the breaks are more frequent, and I spend more time standing on the bike while I ride to get some relief. This is an all too familiar situation for all of us who like long rides.

Pros: Both sections of the seat are very well constructed, finish is excellent, and both easily swapped out with the stock seat. As many of the photos online show, both sections are wider and provide much better support than the stock seat. If you have a passenger, they will appreciate the added width and how the slope of the passenger seat is more level instead of pitched forward. If Sargent fixes the fitment issue with the driver seat, I am confident it would work great for me on long runs.

Cons: For the driver seat, there is a fitment issue where the seat has an upward pitch towards the tank, or said another way, has a pitch angle that will make you automatically slide towards the back position of the driver seat. This misalignment is visible from a side view of the bike, both the pitch of the profile of the seat, and on the Tiger gas tank where the tank has a built-in slot around the base for the front profile of the seat to fit tight in with the gas tank. The stock seat can be adjusted to either the high or low position and will stay inside the gas tank slotted area. For the Sargent seat in the high position, it is positioned above the slot, and is visibly flared-out. Not a deal breaker for me since I ride with the seat in the low position, but an important consideration for anyone using the high position, or wanting to maintain resale value as the high position is going to be prone to damage the paint on the tank.

For long distance riding, I prefer a seat with no slope so I can adjust my position forward/backward without fighting the seat. The stock Tiger seat is pitched forward, tends to move you forward towards the tank - the Sargent seat is pitched back, so you tend to slide back. The pitch back is enough to make it uncomfortable for me to stay in the forward position - deal breaker. Also, when I stopped on level ground (in the forward position of the seat with my feet touching the ground), there was this odd effect of feeling like I was on an uphill, and I noticed I was pushing my bike backwards just sitting there and had to either lean forward and tighten my legs against the bike, or keep the brake on. I could live with keeping the brake on at a stop, just not the pitch during day to day riding.

Summary:
I sincerely hope that Sargent corrects the fitment issue with the front section of the seat. If they correct the issue, my quest for a new seat would be over because this seat otherwise meets all my needs.

Nice seat but it didn't fit
I just got my return authorization to send this seat back. It would have been my third Sergeant seat (previously on a 650 VStrom and a Ducati Multistrada) but this one just didn't fit my Tiger in a couple ways. First it was just very hard to get the forward seat pushed down far enough to engage the frame mounts. The rear slots worked fine but it was a bear to get the front ones to line up. Then I had to add shims to the rear lock fixture because it felt like I was going to break the key trying to release it. Finally, It just didn't follow the lines of the bike or fit under the ledge in the gas tank. It's like it was about 1/2" too long and the forward edge of the seat was really thick and couldn't possibly conform to the tank correctly.
So, I'm bummed because I've had really good luck with Sergeant before. I've ordered a Saddlemen as a second choice.
