Excellent Cool to Cold Weather Jacket
I have a summer jacket -- Dainese Avro Textile -- that has a liner but when the temperature drops below 55-60 it gets chilly and with the liner in I don't have any room to layer up. The wind comes in all down the zip and is hard to keep out, once you're cold its hard to warm up again. No such problem with the Rukka.

I've ridden down to 42F so far, local roads and freeway, and the wind and cold just don't penetrate the Rukka at all. The included neck guard seals me in up into the bottom of my helmet and I don't have any comfort issues with it. The jacket itself zips to my Rukka Airman riding pants so I'm all sealed in.

Overall, I am very happy with the quality of the product and especially the style; I did have a minor problem but resolved this very quickly to my complete satisfaction with Revzilla. I think I've watched nearly all the fall-winter-spring jacket videos looking for something to suit me and I always came back to the Rukka.

The materials are solid on the jacket, the armor is soft, flexible and very comfortable but will harden in the event of an impact. With two zips to do up its a little more awkward but small price to pay for being warm and dry. I could waffle on about the zip covers, etc but these are all covered in the video review.

Overall, I'm very happy with this jacket and would recommend it to others. Yes, its $700 but when you compare with other top brands, its not wildly out of line and the styling clinched it for me.

Sizing notes: I'm 5'8" and 170-175lbs, 42" chest. My Dainese is a size 52 and its tight with the liner in. My Rukka is a size 50 and fits comfortably without being baggy so clearly going down one size per the video review is good guidance. I think I could even have squeezed a size 48, but would note that the forearm part of the jacket is a tight fit on me but looser in the bicep area, I closed up the bicep adjuster by one notch.

Good Jacket
I have had this jacket for about a month now, and I think I should do an initial/ first impression review. I will just go down the product rating as a guideline.
- 3/5 bang for the buck. well, its up there in the price range. unfortunately, the features included in this jacket is average for this.
- 4/5 style. my first impression, out of the box, was that it is a good looking jacket for a Gortex type. It contours my body and stops right at the waist and not long on the arms. It may look bulky but I have a wide frame anyway so it doesnt bother me. The brick red with black scheme is bad (in a good way). It doesnt make me too 'invisible'.
- 4/5 comfort. The product, IMO does seem like of good quality. I wear the liner in my 20-30 min commute around Seattle and I ride highway or street, depending on weather conditions. Ive ridden in between 40-80*F weather, with wind conditions and it does get pretty warm higher in the ranges but its pretty flexible for goretex.
-4/5 protection/dura. like i mentioned previously, the materials used seem to be durable and I appreciate that they do come with D30 air protectors (except back). At this price range I think the back D30 should've been standard.
-4/5 airflow. I wear short cuff gloves and jeans with these so the airflow can be managed with how I wear it. I would imagine wearing gauntlets and goretex pants would insulate me more. This to me is sufficient, because it only gets hot once I walk in to the house.
-5/5 features. This is where I feel the rukka shines. Ive ridden in showers. not full on rain because i dont have goretex pants. But it is waterproof. It does keep me warm, wearing just a t-shirt in 40*F temps (wind included). The zippers are easy to use, and pockets are simple to access with gloves.
-Fit. It hugs my body, but its not too tight. Im wearing a size 48 Flexius and I am 5'8 145-150lbs athletic. I guess its a Euro style fit. Which suits my frame. (wifey says it makes me look maculine).

4/5 All in all. I feel that i have made the right purchase. I was looking for a jacket that didnt look too much like an adventure type jacket. Its not too bulky, being Gortex and having as much features as it does. The materials seem quite durable. Its water proof but flexible for my riding that i can stretch it through the season quiet a bit. It seems like a long review but I like the details and making a purchase like this, i feel one has to be detailed. I commute in Seattle and this suits my riding. I will make any addition good or bad in the future if need be. Great product Rukka and even better team Revzilla!

Winter commuting suit
Full disclosure, I am not a small guy - 6'2 and 255lbs, so it was a relief to find a solid winter jacket that fit me well even with my Gerbings heated gear underneath - it took a Euro size 60 in the jacket to give me enough room for the heated gear and my work clothes. I tried the other European brands, but Rev'It (usually my favorite) was uncomfortable and I didn't like the fact that Klim was unlined. I commute about 80 miles a day on I95 all winter from Philadelphia, so I was looking for a really warm jacket that I could use in winter and then switch back to my Aerostich when the weather turned warmer again. You've heard of the 3 season jackets, well this one is clearly a one season jacket that is built especially for the cold. My previous Olympia suit was good to around 35F without heated gear underneath, but this thing was fine down to 30F. I was surprised how warm the Outlast lining is. This bodes well because I have been known to ride in temps down to 10F with heated gear.
In terms of style and features, it has plenty of pockets and the windbreaker at the neck is phenomenally effective at keeping one of you most exposed areas warm. I haven't had to use my balaclava yet underneath the helmet. Also the fabric is a really soft feeling Cordura that is almost like suede and looks great.
In terms of price, this was quite a steal when compared to the Rev'It and Klim that offered less features and warmth at higher prices.
If you are serious about commuting in the winter, this is an awesome jacket. I also bought the Rukka Fuel GTX pants to go with it, and they are equally as good.

VERY Warm.. with better venting than I originally thought
It took me a long time to pull the trigger on this purchase. I've got a lot of Warm/Hot Weather Jacket options with different degrees of protection. I desperately needed a Jacket with Great protection for spirited riding that would be warm in temps from 40-70 degrees. I was very concerned that the lack of zippered vents would not allow this jacket's temperature to be controlled adequately. For the first couple of rides (in cold weather) I was extremely happy with my purchase. Not only is the jacket VERY Warm (especially with the inner lining) but the neck fitting is fantastic in terms of both comfort and additional warm. However, the big surprise, after many rides in temps from 55-75 degrees (without the inner lining) was that you can COMPLETELY control the inside temp with variations in the two front zippers. At 70+ degrees OAT, If you DON'T zip the red inner zipper at all, this then lets an appreciable amount of wind into the jacket (I'm riding with a fly screen vs a full wind screen). Alternately, if its 65-70 degrees, in combination, you can leave the BOTH the inner zipper open 6 inches at the top AND leave the outer front zipper open a bit (inches matter) and completely have control over the amount of outside air flow into the jacket. This air that you've vented into the jacket can be further controlled from the side vent closures. Here to, I thought the need for two sizes of side vents (2 zippers each) didn't make much sense because they were very close in size, it turns out each option changes the airflow differently. Rukka didn't leave out the normal zippered front vents, they figured out a different way to do it!

excellent cool to cold weather jacket
After spending a couple of months searching and trying on different colder weather jackets, this one is a keeper.
It has a liner easy to detach and so far I have been riding without it with just a T-shirt under, in upper 40's. I can imagine with the liner and extra layer you could ride in 30's no problem. Extremely wind proof!!!!. Great quality jacket.
Also the detachable collar is great to cover your neck.
Sizing: I'm 6'2", 220lbs I got size 60 to have extra room for more layers. Could fit in size 58 no problem.
Style is good, more sporty then other brands that look like older mans jacket. I recommend it.

Excellent Product
I received this jacket a day we had a cold snap and I had a motorcycle run with my club that night and I have to say I've never had a jacket that has kept me this warm . It went down to 38 degrees Fahrenheit that night and I was never cold and all I had on underneath was a long sleeve t-shirt and my club vest over the jacket. Not only is it warm but it's comfortable and yet not bulky or restraining. I rode this weekend and it was around 52 degrees and I took out the liner and it was perfect. The collar is comfortable along with the cuffs. Great features and adjustability for sizing. I will never wear a leather jacket again !!!

Great combination of weather and body protection
I have only had this jacket for a couple of weeks however during this time I have been incomplete downpours and the jacket has been in pervious to rain and wind. The molecular armor combined with the stretch cordura makes this jacket comfortable and flexible. Overall I am extremely happy with this jackets performance at this price point.

Solid cool-weather jacket
I've had the jacket around 3 months, but here in Tampa it's starting to warm up quickly, so I don't expect to be wearing it again until the Fall. In short, it's a great option for cooler weather. Down here it serves as my winter jacket, which works fine in the above-freezing temps that I have to contend with.

I'm 5'11", about 190lbs, and the size 50 fit my perfectly. There's room under the jacket for a layer (two if you leave out the excellent thermal liner), but don't expect to go crazy with the base and mid-layers unless you size up. The fit isn't as tight as my Dainese summer jacket, but it is nicely fitted.

The jacket proved water tight on a number of long, wet rides. Overall, I'm very happy with the jacket.

Jacket fit is large ordered a size down from the chart recommendation, probably could have went down one more size but it is nice to have room for base layers. Also note the forearms do not have adjustable straps, looks like it does in the photo. Not a big deal but will be loose without the liner. If you can get the REV'IT Vapor to fit right it is a nice jacket arms are tight though.
Im an Alaskan rider so the jacket works great for me, but there is not much venting.

After all the research and videos I think this jacket is the best fit for me with Gore tex

I am built like a fire plug so most jackets do not fit my biceps and are usually too long in the sleeve

I hope this one fits !!

Curious as to why Revzilla does not sell the Flexius GTX Pants? What pants would you recommend to go with the Flexius GTX jacket?
Marc Y on Sep 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Rukka Fuel GTX Pants
I am 6' tall with a 42" chest and 34" sleeve. A 34-35" sleeve is "normal" for these measurements. The sizing chart, however, says a size 50 is 3" smaller than my chest and has a 31" sleeve which seems to be at least 3-4" too short for a 6' man with a 42" chest. According to the video, I should probably wear a 50. The 52 has a chest measurement that is 1" less than mine and only a 31.5" sleeve. Basis answers to other sizing issues, it appears that a 52 would be too large for me except for the still too short sleeve length. Does anyone have similar measurements to mine and did the size 50 coat seem to have sleeves that were too short ....meaning a gap between a non-gauntlet glove and the coat sleeve? So....is the 31.5" sleeve found in the size 50 size correct or is the sleeve longer to the point that it would properly fit the 34" sleeve that I need? Thank you. Chuck in Montana
