Rokker Urban Racer Boots

Rokker is known the world over for their high-quality vintage-inspired motorcycle gear, and boy do the Urban Racer Boots fit that bill. These boots are handmade in Portugal with vintage greased cowhide leather, that not only gives them a hard-worn and aged look, but also helps the leather repel water and other unwanted liquids.

A shock-absorbing insole, heavy-duty rubber outsole, as well as ankle, heel and toe protection mean that you're not just getting a great looking pair of boots; you're getting a great looking pair of motorcycle boots. Why blow your hard earned bills on a pair boots with no protection and that everyone you know already has, when you can own a boot that looks better and actually protects your precious pedes (that's Latin for feet).

Features:

  • Durable, greased vintage cowhide leather, water repellent
  • Shock-absorption insole
  • Ankle, heel and toe protection
  • Heavy-duty rubber outsole, oil-resistant, anti-abrasion and non-slip
  • Handmade in Portugal
  • Height: approximately 20cm (7.9")

Went from TCX Hero WP to these...
I tried posting a review about the TCX Hero WP on reveille even though I bought them through another vendor. My review of those boots hasn't yet been published on Revzilla but the gist of it was that the TCX Hero felt cheap, looked cheap, and didn't fit me all that well.

Anyway, I have owned a couple of goodyear-welted boots and decided to just throw down on these... sometimes my buy-it-for-life mentality gets the best of my checking account. Still, I'm glad I made the decision.

Out of the box, I got the nice, premium leather smell. The "black" is indeed antiqued a little and I'm assuming that they will develop a lot of character because of that.

The fit is pretty darn good right out of the box. Of course, it's a stiff leather boot and needs to be broken in but that's nothing new for me. I can tell once broken in they will be very comfortable. I wear a size 9.5 tennis shoe, size 9 Allen Edmond boot, size 9 truman boot, and I got these in the 42.

The soles are a bit out of the box. I'm guessing they'll gain a little more grip as indentations form from walking on pavement, but I almost slipped in my bathroom pretty hard.

The build quality is excellent. Definitely better than Allen Edmonds, like 100% better. I'd compare them to Truman Boot Co as far as build quality and finish.

The CE protection isn't there, I guess. I think the protection from these boots is much better than the flimsy foam inserted between two thin pieces of leather on the TCX boots, though. If I were to go down, I'd take these boots over the CE-rated TCX boots any day.

Yea they're expensive but if you like to buy things and hold onto them for a long time, these boots are definite contenders in your search.

These Boots, The Rokker Urban Racer Boots are cool. This is my first day wearing them and they are bringing back memories of my first day at Ft. Benning when i got to Basic. My DS handed me a pair of boots and said 'Custom Made by the US Government just for you soldier" and those boots were leather and awesomely tough. These are built extremely well as well and they look super cool. My foot measured 10 5/8 so went with the 44, size 11 USA. There is about 1/4+ wiggle room and so far so good. I did for a minute wonder if i should have went with the 43 so i called and had them send me those as well. The size 43 went back today. Although they fit, they were too snug. I usually wear 11 or 44's. They are very strangely comfortable but stiff even though they are not broken in yet I can tell i made a good choice. More than i wanted to spend but i Do have $600 worth of worn out boots in my closet from the last 2 years. I have Rev' It (good stuff), Style Martin(Love em) and others. They don't hold a candle to Rokkers build quality and leather quality. I think they might be feeding the cows that give up their ghost for the making of these kicks, Titanium Chitlin's or something. I like em. Thanks again Amanda and Ben for the help with the sizing and silly questions. Always a pleasure. Out...

Outstanding
Love these boots!

My wife bought them as a holiday gift. Fantastic fit and feel (I wear a 9.5 wide and these arrived true to size). My wife loves them as a fashion statement, but I'm much more concerned with durability and a solid cruiser solution. These boots fit the bill in all categories. The more I wear them, the more I'm glad she bought them.

Only recommendations I have, as Rokker is based out of Switzerland, would be a CE certified version of these boots. I have a soft spot for Portugal, as it's a beautiful country with an incredible culture, and knowing they were handmade there helped my wife make the choice in purchasing them. The quality is top notch and impeccably made, but coming from Europe, and at this price point, I would expect a CE certification for the next generation of these boots.

Feel and look wonderful!
I don't have any pain at all from these boots. This is my second pair b/c I wanted some in brown. Put some mink oil on right out of the box and let them sit over night, as well as put dr. scholl's inserts in. These babies are like butter, most comfortable, well made, and great looking footwear I've ever owned. Btw I were a size 10 to 10 1/2 in most shoes and 43's in the Rokker's fit perfect.

Rokker Rox
Just got these today and they feel great. Heavy, but not as much as my Frye Chelsea. Quality is outstanding and they're surprisingly comfy for new boots.

I'm sure they'll outlast the soles. These will be my everyday kicks. My feet feel secure & safe, style is very hip and in the moment. Spendy, but if you've got a little extra coin and want to make a good long term investment this is the one.

I wear a 10 in almost every other shoe (Red Wing, Frye, dress shoes) and I got the 43 -- perfect fit with a relatively heavy Klim sock.

Bitchin boots
I wear a 9.5- 10.5 depending on shoe and the 43 fits perfect the boots are awesome quality, awesome looking and totally a ballers boot, very heavy for walking in for awhile and they take a solid week to break in. If your short or just looking for a solid 1.5-2” of extra height these boots also give you that so that’s cool. All around it’s a awesome quality leather boot and their black color is really a sweet dark brown color.

Great Boots
The boots are worth the money. Exceptional quality and style. A little stiff and heavy at first. After a few rides they have broken in nicely and the weight doesn't bother me. The fit is as described on the website. Highly recommended if you're looking for a high end riding boot.

OK, nothing outstanding
Picked this up a few months back, looking for a "stylish" casual boot for occasional wear. It's a nice boot, just not worthy of the cost. Not any nicer than my son's Dianese Cafe boots, which were significantly less expensive.

Would buy again
I was looking for a boot that would serve me well on my commute (tough, protective, & water repellant) and look & feel good all day at work.

I wanted a motorcycle boot that looked like a regular boot (without being a heavy, oversized work boot). I don't like shift lever patches, so that ruled out a number of other boots. I tried the Stylemartin Ace, but the toe of the boot looked a little short & slightly pointy and it looked like (imho) a ballet slipper - not a proper boot. My vanity is showing.

I initially avoided the Urban Racer because of its price tag & the shift lever patch on the side, but after I tried everything else, I gave it a try. I was not (entirely) disappointed. It looks like a proper boot without being a work boot so it's good for the office. The shift lever patch is minimal enough to not be noticed readily. It looks and feels like a quality product. It's fairly stiff, but is still very comfortable for riding and walking in all day. I did, however, replace the insert with a thicker more arch supporting one, but only because I like good arch support.

So, at $449 for a non-technical boot - that's a lot of scrilla! If they last 3 years I'll be happy and would definitely considering buying them again. If they last 5 years, they have a new loyal customer - especially if they get rid of the shift lever patch. Fingers crossed.

For full disclosure, I have no problems with wearing a quality work boot for street & dirt road riding. In fact, I was even considering one of the Thorogood boots, but they wouldn't fit in at the office and everyone would point at me.

Lastly, I have wide feet. I bought one size larger (like I usually do when a wide option isn't available) and they fit well - not too tight and without looking like oversized clown shoes.

They Fit True to Size
I was in the market for a nice moto boot despite already having 6 pairs of casual moto boots - Revit Rodeo, Revit Marshall, Stylemartin Legend, Stylemartin Oxford, ICON Elsinore and Dainese Cafe. The reason I bought this was because of the 6 boots that I own, I wear the Revit Marshall the most due to the sturdy feel and the beefy style. The Stylemartin Oxford comes in at a close second place with the ICON Elsinore being 3rd for their style and uniqueness factor, respectively. These Rokkers appear to have the sturdiness and style, so when they went on sale on Black Friday (34% off of their current $449 price), I bought them. When I received them, I think I made the right decision.

I purchased size 42 in antique black. On sizing, I wear 43 on almost all of the boots I mentioned I above (with the only exception being the ICONs where I wear a 10 US). For perspective, I wear US 10 in Nike/Adidas, 43 in Sidi's, and 9 for Converse/Allen Edmond. These Rokkers in 42 look small but they somehow fit with regular cotton socks; if I wear thick socks, I would go with my normal size (43)....so be wary of that if you're in between sizes and do not heed Anthony's advice to go down a size. There is about 1/4" of toe room and due to the tall toe profile, there is still a little wiggle room for my toes. The antique black color looks brown in certain lighting conditions so also be aware of that if you want a true/flat black.

These are rigid boots, second only to the ICON Elsinores that I own. Style wise, they are similar to the Revits but these seem much better built. Those who own Revits can attest to how light those boots are; while the Revit sole adds a good 1.5" to your height, the soles do not feel as sturdy as these Rokkers. I'm pleased with the quality of these boots at the price I paid for them. If I was to pay retail price, I might think otherwise since I do not feel these are worth $449 - that's because leather moto boots get beat up on shift levers, scratched while in contact with rear sets and get mud/road debris flung on them daily. If you're not hard on your footwear, I recommend buying 2 pairs of Revits. The rigidity of these boots add the perception that they're protective but I cannot tell if they would be protective in a crash (nor do I want to test that either.) If rigidity is an indication of the protectiveness, I think the ICON Elsinore (or a shorter version of that) would be the obvious choice over these Rokkers.

Comfort-wise, these feel okay - they're not as comfy as Dr. Martin or Stylemartin's. They are as comfy as the Revit's and the ICON Elsinore.

To sum up my review, I think these are a good alternative and the quality seems consistent with Rokker products (which are expensive but exude quality befitting a mid-price product.) I will only wear these as casual boots due to their style and price. I have 6 other pairs of boots which are better for moto usage. If you can pick these up on sale, I say give them a chance; otherwise, go with a more affordable option.

BEST ANSWER: Choose according to what you would wear in the Euro sizing.
Will Revzilla be getting the other colors of this boot?
A shopper on Jan 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These boots, and only these boot (in black), were recently added to ReZilla's Rokker line inventory. My guess is that as RevZilla slowly introduces the Rokker brand to the North American market, the kind of traction they get might be indicative to the variety RevZilla will be willing to stock. I recenly placed my order and the delivery date is slated for late March. If these boots ever come in another color, I would suspect it wouldn't be anytime soon. But I think a more appropriate party to ask this question would be the guru's at RevZilla. I'm too am merry an assumptive customer. Hope that helps.
Does the boot have a gear shift overlay?
A shopper on Sep 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Kind of not really it has a extra piece of leather with cool 5 bar stitching on the inner side of each boot.
Where are these boots manufactured?
