Overall good value with good airflow.
I've got a 33' waist and 32" inseem and I'm 5'11" and 190lbs, reaonable athletic build. I tried the Medium but it was just a bit too tight on the bike. The large is a bit roomy for me but fits best riding and on the bike. The pant length is a bit long standing but about perfect sitting on the bike as it doesn't hike up too far. And the knee armor is adequate and fits in the right place. The hip armor is hardly noticeable - and fortunately I haven't tested it. I live in the Houston, TX area - we have plenty of warm days. With the liner removed, this is a comfortable pant on a 95 degree and humid day (as comfortable as you can get anyway). The mesh extends a long way on the front and the backside of the legs. It's as cool as riding in shorts without the liner which is reasonably easy to zip in and out. I tried the Dianese D Explorer too. It actually fit maybe even a bit better (size 54) but it was less breathable, the zipper that connects it to the optional jacket portrudes out like a bad haircut when the waist cinch belts are tightened properly, and it is $200 more so I sent it back. As usual, the advice I got from the Revzilla staff on the phone about the pant was right on. My wife tried a ladies pant, but also ended up with the mens Rev'it Tornado 2.

Really versatile pants, just what I've been looking for.
So i've been on the hunt for the perfect pair of pants for the last 6 month, and I think these are them.

Im 5'10, 165, athletic thin build, jeans 30-31/31. I fell in the small sizing for the pants, was a little worried they would be too small but they actually pit perfectly. Reading some of the Tornado2 reviews helped out since i couldn't find any on the 3 yet.

I live in Oregon, so i needed something for the middle of the summer when its 98+ as well as all the other times when its probably raining;) Awesome air flow, i mean, can't beat the big mesh panels, they don't go directly to your skin since theres a thin liner in the pants, so they are comfortable against the skin. Don't even notice the hip protectors which is great. And having that rain liner is perfect for colder possibly wet days, maybe combined with a pair of long johns for some extra warmth.

You might be able to fit some skinny jeans under these, but don't really seem to be made as an over pants. But I didn't buy them for that. I just wear a pair of Nike 3/4th leggings or a pair of basketball shorts.

Ive been really happy with REV'ITs products, their new updated products are on point.

Great summer pants excellent airflow and protection
The revit tornado 2 pants are exactly what I was looking for in my summer riding gear. They have provided excellent protection in two low side events (30-45 mph) before I am feeling the need to replace them. If I had not been wearing some high quality riding pants with surprising levels of protection I am sure I would have spent some time in the hospital instead of standing right up without a bruise or scratch each time. Armor works impressively well while being almost unnoticeable while the large vents give these pants some serious air conditioning capabilities once I stand up on my monster. Looks sharp, fits great, and provides excellent levels of repeat protection for riding. If I had to pick one gripe with them it would be the poorly designed pockets but with everything else these pants have going for them it is a non issue to me. Definitely recommend these pants for hot weather riding will be ordering a second pair as soon as possible to retire the pair that saved my skin twice during this riding season.

Great all day pants
I'm a bigger guy and traditionally have had many issues with motorcycle pants in particular. It seems Rev'IT is making pants now for real 'Merican guys now as these are a great fit, with one nitpick.

I'm a 50" waist (at the belly button) and 48" hips, 32" inseam. 6' 280lbs. I measured these right before I bought these using the charts. I was a little concerned that the 4XL (i.e. XZL in Rev'IT literature) might be a bit tight, and I don't think they make the 5XL.

***They also don't provide a 4XL Short ( or 3XL Short as far as I can tell) so that was kind of annoying.*** C'mon Rev'IT, make the short version for all sizes!

I decided to give the 4XL a try and when they arrived I was relieved to see that they are slightly more generous then they claim. They're a bit long so a 4XL Short would have been perfect. I wear big boots so I can work with it. With the liner in, they fit like a nice pair of jeans. With the liner out I can probably fit some cargo shorts or light pants underneath. If you intend to use these as overpants for jeans, khaki's, I'd suggest you go up a size. The slide button is a big win for guys with big bellies since the hook-and-eye types tend to bend over time and the snaps tend to snap out. The slide snap combines both benefits and avoids both problems. Awesome.

The ankle zippers are longer then I expected based on the video review, so I was happy about that. I'm not that guy that worries about what I look like with motorcycle clothes on, so I intend to wear these all day long when I wear then, so overpants needs are low for me. I do think if I spend a lot of time walking in these without the jacket, i'll need the suspenders because the waist adjustment is *just* a little too low to stop it sliding down. To be fair I have this issue with almost every pair of pants that doesn't include a belt, and some that do!

I test rode them to work today without the liner, it was about 65 degrees this morning and it was like I was wearing shorts. I was actually a little chilly! That's not something I ever say on a motorcycle in Spring/Summer/Fall. I'm really excited to take these on some long hot rides and see how it goes, but I'm very optimistic about these, probably the best purchase in warm weather gear I've made in a long time.

Great airflow with good protection
I bought these pants for a summer motorcycle touring trip in southern Spain. The mesh vents provided great airflow for the hotter days. The protection proved itself to be adequate when I tested it with a low-side on some old, slick pavement south of Antiquera. It was a pretty low speed hair pin corner, maybe 20-30 mph. Went for a slide on my right side. The material and stitching didn't tear or come apart, and the SeeSoft armor in the hip kept me from even getting a bruise. It's always nice when you can go down and come away completely unscathed. And the pants were still in one piece and good to go for more riding.

If I had a gripe it is that the front pockets are a little hard to access, with the front pocket zippers acting like little teeth, there to annoy and harass your hands when you are fishing out your keys or phone. Great product over all though.

Great airflow great protection
Needs the full circumference zipper, other than that no complaints. I'm 6'1" 215lbs with 33 inch inseam. ordered XL and thought they were too large as they sort of slip down after moving around in them and the knee armor seems a little low. I told the guys at Revzilla and they recommended I try a size large but they were just too tight in the seat and waist so I'm sending them back. I'm going to buy the strapper suspenders and hopefully that will keep them up where they need to be. Four stars instead of 5 because of the short zipper only. If they only had the full zip which my jacket does I think they'd be perfect.
Thanks to the guys at Revzilla, they really are very helpful.

Awesome
These are the best!! I commute 100 miles a day from the back side of the coastal range in Santa Barbara county to the ocean side so winter riding temps can vary from 22 degrees in the winter on one side to 45 on the oceanside. The inner liner although not meant to be a insulated liner keeps me warm. (And I ride in shorts under my pants) So if you wear pants you'll be even warmer.
Summer riding..Removing the liner you get good airflow through the pants. Being here in southern Cali it gets warm and never rains so the inner comes out the knee pads feel a little weird (again I always wear shorts) you feel the tops of them hitting your knees (while your walking around) their fine when seated on the bike!
Fit..I'm 5'9" tall with a 35" waist. So that would be a (L Short) .Ok..Ok.. the waist can very what can I say I like food.. and so far the waist adjustments has been able to meet my needs.
Length..This for people with a short inseam can be a problem I was amazed that when I first put these on they fit perfect I was soooo happy!!
Construction...I'm hard on my gear period! I have 2 jackets that almost all the zippers have failed I won't name, names but let's just say... if took you on a tour and was a novice at it you wouldn't call me a Master...Hope you can put those together...LOL..I've washed these 5 times since I've owned them (I have the white ones) and they've put up with the washing machine and dryer fine..keep in mind dry them lightly then sit out in sun or hang on something!!!! Well made ALL zipper are in place with no failures so that make me happy!!
Protection...You'll have to buy the hip protectors separately kinda BS if you ask me they don't cost much so why not include them?? The knee cups work fine but as I said earlier, more adjustability would be nice but these are acceptable. Overall GREAT pants will buy another pair..If and when they start falling apart..which doesn't look like anytime soon..
Stay safe...remember they don't see you because they're looking at their cell phones and if you ride everyday you see it too...!!!!!!!!

Good ventilation, but not great commuter pants
The inner zip doesn't come up very far, so I have to remove my boots to get these in and off. I'm also not impressed with the thigh room in the pants. I normally wear a large tall (34" waist, 36" inseam), but I purchase an XL tall, figuring I could wear them over jeans. They're really tight in the thighs, but remain loose in the waist and I have to cinch down the adjustment straps.

The inner lining also seems to grab my street clothes and pulling the pants up is difficult.

Rev-It! Tornado 2 - A Quality Pant for Discerning Legs
Got a new bike in May 16...so new pants (and jacket and helmet) were necessary, right? Am I right?
Purchased the Tornado 2 pants after the T2 jacket since I really like the jacket.

Bang For The Buck: Not inexpensive but fairly priced. Look and feel to be of the usual Rev-It high quality.

Protection & Durability: Not fully tested. Material and armor seamingly in the right places.

Features: Nothing to add that's not already in the very informative Video. I do wish they came with separate rain liners (can't attach my Mistral or Cayenne Pro pant rain liner since the leg openings are reversed, but perhaps could just slip them in there if need be and get decent protection...). Pockets are indeed a pita to access.

Comfort: Very comfortable when riding with the protection situated very well.

Style: Great looking pant (I think) - I have blk. My wife thinks they look good - so there you have it.

Fit: For ref, I'm 5'10"195lb, 33W/31L and have older Rev-it Mistral Pants (size 50, fit nice but a tad long), and original Cayenne Pro (L Reg, good fit but too long for me). Went with the L Short for these based on reviews here and they fit real well (waist ~ 3/4 cinched closed at this point; good overall allowable movement when seated). Somewhat snug w/liner; certainly usable on colder days.

Air Flow: They move quite a bit more air than my Mistrals. I use long johns for cooler (not cold) days (e.g., my recent October trip down the full Blue Ridge Parkway).

I was looking for mesh, cool pants, yet with good abrasion resistance and good armor that also wasn't bulky. I'm also hoping that during summer months when I'm commuting, I'll be able to slip them over my walking shorts (sans liner) and use them as overpants.

Just like any other gear I buy, I do a lot of research first. I bought these because they fit my requirements for staying cool, staying dry, and short sizes. I chose the silver for its higher albedo in Tampa's nearly 6-7 months of summer weather.

In version 2 of this designed as overpants still (slightly oversized) or improved to be standalone pants (with a slightly trimmer fit)?
David R on Apr 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Much improved as stand alone pants (how I wear them) as they are much less baggy than the Tornado 1's.
is this an over-the-boot pant?
Alex A on Mar 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I believe it was intended to be. Notice the reflection strips are positioned very low at the calves. But like most textile pants, I think it wouldn't be a problem to stuff them inside boots; although you would loose the water-proofing then.
Do these have some sort of heat shields built in the legs to keep from melting with contact on exhaust?
Ryan A on Jun 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No they do not. Be better Revit, especially considering the price; and some leather would look real good on this pant. My other pant has both and is very good after 5 years. This is a great overpant. You can't go wrong. Works great for me. And I live in Central Texas, 96 today....stand by. If a heat shield on the pant is important, move on.
How to clean tornado 2 pants ?
John D on Aug 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Actually there are two answers. (1) the outside, that I know about: just wash them, no problem. The liner: I don't know, we didn't get them dirty yet. We rode for a month in Baja and washed the outers twice (from wearing every day) and only used the liners twice.
Is it one liner for both the Tornado 2 pants and jacket vs. two separate liners in some Dainese pants?
Robert C on Mar 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The pants have a single liner, a waterproof membrane with a light thermal treatment but all one unit. It has a zipper around the waist and around the bottom of each leg for removal. Works pretty easily. I am having trouble with the slide snap closure at the waist and will be calling regards to it today.
To use this as an overpants (with the liner in), should I go up one size?

BEST ANSWER: If your talking about wearing jeans or the like underneath I would say yes. I wear like longhorns underneath and they fit great. I am also have a bit of over hang if you know what I mean but theses pants are the first and only that have ever worked for me. I think because if the the lower rise than most others.

I hope that was helpful.

Does the waterproof liner actually work?
Joshua H on Mar 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes I have been pleased with the level of water protection these pants provide. However I always carry a pair of waterproof over pants for torrential downpours.
42" waist, 29-30" inseam. What pant size would work?
Gray B on May 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I actually went to Revzilla to try on pants. Im glad I did as the pants I got are 34 waist and short inseam. I am 5'10" 220lbs 36 waist below belly and 38-40 above with a 30" inseam. I like to wear below belly line. These are a size down from recommended they are plenty long and land the knee pads in the right place while sitting they feel and look snug but perfectly comfortable however I am only planning on wearing long under wear or briefs underneath. If you are going to wear jeans, I would concider a size up from there. Mc pants have always been ill fitting for me until these. I'm happier now. I also ahead a slow speed get off and it's true what they say about regular jeans

What (if any) are the noteworthy differences between the Airwave 2 and the Tornado 2, other than the Tornado 2's removable liners (waterproof + insulation)? I live in central AZ so waterproof/insulated isn't much of a concern. Is the outer shell construction, knee protection, or breathability substantially better w/ the Tornado 2?
Chris S on Apr 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Go with the airwave!
