Good jacket outside thermal liner
My previous jacket was a Spidi Net (3?) which I purchased a few years ago along with the optional zip out membrane. Fast forward past three years of daily commuting in the spring, summer, and fall as well as multiple cross country tours to the failed front zipper of a few weeks ago.

Some of the things I was looking to improve included another pocket in the liner to keep things dry when it was raining, a wet weather liner which wasn't a shell with the rubbery membrane inside (hard to get on and off, especially when damp), and the option to wear glove gauntlets under the sleeve. The Tornado 2 meets those requirements, though it has one notable deficiency: the thermal/dry liner. Unfortunately, the liner will keep you sweating all the way down to 40°F if you're sitting behind a fairing as I do on my ST3. I can't really see the utility of the combined liner on a jacket like this since the vast majority of buyers surely aren't running into 40°F rainstorms on 90°F days. It's a high quality liner, however I'd be much happier were it not thermally lined. As it is, I'll have to find another solution for a breathable liner for real world use, or find a way to remove the insulation from this liner. I would much rather REV'IT had left the thermal management up to the rider, as layering surely isn't that difficult a thing to achieve for your average rider and provides superior flexibility. Had I known how ridiculously hot the thermal liner was going to be, I probably would have cross shopped it with linerless mesh jackets, at which point the Tornado 2 doesn't look so good on the value front. I really think they missed the mark on this one, which is a shame since there's so much potential to be great.

Great Airflow, Difficult Fit
Overall, this is a great jacket. It looks good and it has the best airflow of any jacket I've ever worn. The hi-viz is super visible. The zipper & the two velcro closures on the wrist make it stay in place perfectly, so it doesn't ride up. The zippers are high quality and the extra-reinforced elbows are a nice touch. The padding in the elbows and shoulders stays in place and is flexible, making it comfortable.

There are, however, a few detractors. First, the fit. I'm 6'2", ~210 lbs. and went with a large. In the chest and waist, it fits great. But in the arms near the biceps, it's tight, especially with the liner in. I don't have big arms, so if you do, either size up or choose a different jacket.

Second, it's a left-hand (women's/European) zipper. Not a huge deal, but it's annoying.

Third, the price ($369) is slightly too high. I'd say this would be an excellent bargain at around $300, and a decent deal at $320.

Finally, it doesn't come with a back pad (not even a foam one). For $370, Rev'it could at least throw in a cheap foam backpad. It has a space for an aftermarket backpad, which I used, but it should come with one.

Good value for the price
I've a number of riding jackets that I've collected over the years, from the First Gear Kilimanjaro 2-piece suit to this latest acquisition, which I bought for the summer riding season.

When compared to other jackets, the fit is a bit more 'european' (ie what we would consider medium in US sizes translates into a european 'large' size) than it would seem (either that or I gained an extra inch in the midsection...LOL) from the quick try-on in the store (which, if you are in the PHL area, you really have to stop by and see...amazing). Oh, and if you're not used to the zipper being on the 'other side'...it takes a second to realize that the euros have it the other way...you'll see...

That being said, I'm pleased: it fits well enough, the armor is located in the right places, it doesn't bind up in the armpits, there is enough 'adjustability' in the sleeves, and, with the liner out, at stop lights or cruising, enough airflow to keep you cool.

If you're looking for a high-vis jacket, this is the one. It definitely is HIGH visibility (it could light up a darkened room), and the style is not too power-rangerish, but just enough for cage operators to not be able to say "I didn't see him".

Excellent Hi-Viz mesh jacket
Just got this yesterday and rode it to work today. Initial impressions are great. The Hi-Viz is truly hi-viz, it practically glows. I wore a short sleeve polo shirt under it and the temperature this morning was about 65 degrees. I didn't wear the liner and it felt like I was just wearing the polo. BIG AIR.

For the bigger men out there. I'm a 50 chest and 50 waist around the belly button. 6' 280lbs, the 4XL is nearly perfect (Rev'IT calls it the XZL in their documentation). The sleeves are a little long but I wear big gloves and there's room to adjust for them. I used a real fabric tape measure with light clothes on measured exactly where the picture tells you to. I highly recommend you actually measure yourself and ignore the sizes and just check the chart. I'm an XL to 2XL in shirts and jackets and 42x32 jeans in normal 'Merica clothes, so just ignore the size designations and go against the size chart and you'll do fine. Overall, fantastic mesh jacket, this will quickly rise to the top of my touring/commuting gear. So far no comment on water proofness, but i intend on riding in the rain with these sooner or later.

Tough Jacket With Great Airflow
I bought this jacket last week before leaving for a 1000 mile ride from Upstate New York to the Blue Ridge Parkway and back. I was trying to decide between the Olympia Airglide 5 and this jacket. With Revzilla's great return policy, I felt confident in ordering both so I could make a good decision. Both jackets were very nice, but the Rev'it just fit me a bit better. Though it was more money, especially due to the need to order the back protection separately, the Rev'it felt more substantial. My riding pants are BMW Rallye 3 pants, and I felt like this jacket was easily on par with the quality of those.

Using it on my recent trip, where every day was in the mid to high 90's, I was very happy with the airflow. The jacket is very comfortable and easy to adjust. The fit was great, and there was no flapping or fabric anywhere.

One thing to note, I don't ever use a jacket's waterproof liner for rain riding, I use a rain shell over the jacket... but if I did, I'd be disappointed that the rain liner is somewhat insulated, as it would have been very uncomfortable given the temps. Since I only put the liner in on cooler rides, for me it will be great, but something for others to consider.

Feel The Breeze
First I wanted a Summer jacket that was Hi-Viz and I was torn between the Rev'it Tornado and Klim Induction. I finally went with the Tornado because the folks at Klim did not make a matching pant. My first ride in Central PA was on a 90 degree day in late May. I hit a 10 minute cloud burst and opted to tough it out with no liner. I stopped at a church on the way for cover and had the liner unpacked but it was too warm so I did not use it. I agree Rev'It should also make a non-insulated rain jacket to go with this product. I plan on getting a Rev'it Pacific 2 H20 to keep in my pack for the next Summer cloud burst. When the temperature dips I'll use the liner. I also got the matching pants and they function equally as good. I spent about 30-40 minutes with a Revzilla Gear Geek exploring different options. These guys are top notch, patient and know their gear. Excellent customer service.

Quality Multi-Season Jacket (Mostly Summer!)
First, if I help one person with sizing this jacket, the effort will be worth it. I'm 5'10", 42" chest, 187 lbs.- pretty average. I wear a large in nearly everything, including my 3 previous jackets. I was on the border between Large and XL according to the chart. The Large fit okay.... until I put in the Seesoft back pad. With that installed, I felt like I was being squeezed around the chest. XL is fine. Go with a bigger size if there is any doubt. Thank goodness Revzilla handles exchanges so easily.

The jacket is quite well-made. There are a couple of aspects which should be noted. Zipper pull is by the opposite hand from what we are used to in the USA. No big deal, just different. As noted by other reviewers, the lining is quite thick and...insulating. I consider this a two-season jacket, although the seasons may not be adjacent! This thing flows air like crazy, making it wonderful protection for summer riding, but unless the temperature drops into the 60s, the liner may be too warm for some. A windbreaker without the quilting would be nice. A long-sleeved shirt may be another option.

All in all, I'm quite happy with this purchase, and would certainly recommend it to anyone who wants a quality high-visibility summer jacket.

Awesome Jacket!!!
Great jacket fits perfectly, I'm 5'10" 160 lbs and a medium fits just perfect. Lots of great features like interior pockets the liner feels quality, and the finish of the jacket is well done.
I did a lot of research before buying and made a great decision with this purchase. Fast deliver, awesome people at Revzilla!

Nice Jacket, but runs small, zipper not great
This jacket has a great design, airflow, protection, and comfort. European XL =American L. Should have gone with a XXL. The front zipper is one of those tiny little prom dress zippers, great for style, crap for zipping. THe adjustable collar is great though. I ride in the UAE, this jacket is great for the heat.

I was between this jacket and the KLIM Induction. I went with this over the KLIM because of the water proof liner. Also, I liked that it had CE level 2 rated armor. I wanted the best breathing/safest jacket I could find. Hopefully it works out.

New rider looking for a single 3-season warm jacket that can do it all. Hi-Viz was the only one left in my size (must be a very popular jacket) but I like the extra safety benefit. Only drawback is you can't hide this is a motorcycle jacket, unlike the black one which may blend a little easier.

Need mesh jacket for spring and summer. A big fan of the High-Vis concept. With me in front of an SUV with very dark tinted windows, and my brother on his bike behind the SUV, he said my high-vis was the only thing he could actually see through the vehicle.

Which jacket flows the most air Rev'it Tornado 2 or Rev'it Airweave 2?
Daivd H on Mar 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have purchased the Tornado 2. I honestly think that the air flow on both of these would be identical.

The price difference comes from the Tornado 2 having an added thermal/waterproof liner that zips in (it's high quality, can be removed from the jacket and worn as a thermal windbreaker/waterproof jacket), as well as the T2 having slightly upgraded armor over the Airweave 2.
Is the waterproof liner and thermal liner the same thing?
Grant W on Mar 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The waterproof liner and thermal liner are the same. The liner actually looks nice and is something you can wear outside of the jacket (I was pleasantly surprised by this).
I'm looking at this one and the Klim Induction hi viz jkt. Is the material ie mesh and shoulder/arm areas made as equally strong as the Klim appears to be.(thinking sliding)?
A shopper on Apr 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Mesh is not going to provide much protection on any jacket. It's the location and quality of the armor that I look for in a mesh jacket and this jacket is well-armored at likely impact points: elbows, forearms,
shoulders and back.
I am looking at this one and the Klim Induction hi viz mesh jacket. In a slide for example Is this Rev'it jkt material any stronger than the Klim appears to be in the mesh, shoulders and arms?
Raymond F on Apr 27, 2016
Does the jacket come with safety standards? ANSI/ISEA 207-2011 or AS/NZS 4602.1:2011?
A C on Jul 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The protection is CE Level 2 (EN1621-1:2012) according to the Rev'It web site.
