REV'IT! Sand Women's Pants

perfect
My girlfriend who is 5 feet tall with a petite build. We have been struggling to find a pair of motorcycle pants. Based on Revzilla suggestion, I went on waiting list for the sand pants. They arrived today and fit perfectly..

Should work for me year-round
I ride ATGATT, mostly commuting (on both a motorcycle and a scooter) with longer trips a few times a year. I'm reviewing both the jacket & pants here.

I can't tell you whether these are true to size or not, because this is my first time buying European gear. I chose the sizes based on the size chart and my measurements. This brand was always too small for me until I lost 40 pounds.

Pros:
- This is NOT men's gear with a few modifications to fit women, it was obviously designed for women from the beginning. Princess seams on the jacket ensure a great fit on women's bodies; there are lots of snaps & straps to adjust everything for women's varied proportions. Everything goes on easily over street clothes (except boots; see below)
- Comfy in a wide range of temperatures, from rainy winter days in San Francisco to the Nevada desert in the summer
- Pants and jacket zip together nearly all the way around as long as you're using the waterproof jacket liner; otherwise you can zip them together via the short back zipper
- HUGE waterproof pocket in the back of the jacket
- Lots of reflective areas (white also improves nighttime visibility)
- Elasticated panels in all the places where you need a little "give"

Cons:
- Pants don't have full-length zippers. When I unzip the lower legs all the way, I can't put these on over my boots.
- Jacket is cut a bit high through the bust. I thought it was just me, but you can also see it on the model in the video. YMMV.
- Where's the love for big girls? This gear comes in a small range of sizes and will not fit the average American woman. However, this company makes plenty of plus-size gear for men!

Could not find a size that fits
I am 5 foot tall, 100 lbs, and could not find a size that fits me. I wish Rev'it would make a size 36 short (their short sizes start at 38). I tried a size 36 regular, and it fit well enough everywhere except for the length. The waist was large on me, even when adjusted as tight as it goes, but I would be willing to live with that if the length was right.

I was also not impressed with the size and adjustability of the knee protection. The protection is very small and although it is possible to adjust it vertically, I found that it doesn't adjust nearly enough. With the pants on, I let myself fall forward to the floor on hands and knees, and hit the floor with my unprotected knees - the protection just shifted to the side. The main reason for this is that the pants are just too big on me, but if the knee protection was wider and longer I may have been able to get away with the bigger pant size.

Other than that, I love the high quality fabric of these pants (it's the same fabric as the Sand jacket). I also like the vents. I have a size 34 Sand jacket, and I was really hoping to get matching pants.

Please Rev'it start carrying 36 short pant sizes!

Great Pants!
Bought these pants just before heading out on a major one week road trip my husband and I had planned as I wanted to be prepared for rain. Well, it rained almost every day, but I stayed dry and comfortable in these pants! Very glad I bought them, my husband who didn't have waterproof pants was not doing real well... At one point even rode through a pretty good down pour, but I stayed dry. One big reason I bought these pants was because of the size options, which Dainese does not have. My only small issue is I wish the waist adjusted more as they fit really well everywhere, but waist is a little big. I didn't have time to exchange them based on the fact that I needed to use them right away, but I'm sure the next size down would have been too snug everywhere else. But I figure that's a small thing. They are well made and full of adjustments all around and I like the hip protection as well, great pants!

A wonderful four season pant
I was looking for a solid riding pant that would keep me warm through Hudson Valley, NY winters. I can't say enough great things about these pants. It has all the bells and whistles. Removable thermal liner and a separate removable waterproof liner. Knee and hip armor, comfortable, adjustable, I could go on and on. I can wear these over a pair of leggings or skinny jeans but they probably wouldn't fit over a pair of regular jeans. I plan to wear these year round as they have all the removable liners, plus vents that can be zipped open when it gets very hot. There is a full zip for the matching jacket (which I don't have... yet) and a short zip that will zip into most other jackets. It works just fine with my Joe Rocket Radar jacket. A solid investment. Highly recommended.

I didn't look hawt but that's beside the point.
the 34 was too snug with the liners, the 36 was a little big without them and (perhaps because i went with the 36) the waist rode pretty high making me feel like steve erkel... but the hip and knee protection, & liners are pretty quality and i felt completely safe and comfortable on my ride up from sonoma to seattle (as a passenger). airflow was ok until we got into stop & go traffic in 90 degree heat.

Can't have it all...
I REALLY liked these pants. They are very versatile, have very well-thought out features and look as good as they can with the desired protection and liners...Now they just need the waist of the Rev'it! Factor 3 pants. This is one of the few manufacturers I've found that has performance pants for short women. I'm 5'2"/125/athletic. I ordered the 38 in both the Sand and Factor 3, but the Sand felt smaller and stiffer in the waist and hips as it doesn't have the vertical stretch panels that run from waist to hip on both sides of the F3. I thought about ordering the next size up, but the Factor 3 is so much more comfortable that I'm willing to give up the better ventilation, more practical pockets and other quality enhancements of the Sand, for the better comfort and accommodation of some weight fluctuation of the F3. The F3 is a little less expensive as well, but that was not the main consideration. Too bad we can't have it all...yet. ;-)

Enduro Pants that fit and protect
I bought the 38 long for a person who is 5'8", 120 lbs, waist size 27". These fit perfect and have a little extra comfort room in the waist.

Great once you figure out your size!
I struggled to find the right size with these pants - I wear a size 6 and am 5'8". I ordered the 44 and these fit great with the liner! I probably could have ordered the 42 (especially when not wearing them with the liner), but am able to wear thicker pants and liner with the 44. I went by the size chart for Alpinestars women's pants, because it had more measurements to guide which size to buy. I love that these pants are noticeably a women's cut, making them much more flattering than men's pants.
