REV'IT! Recon Jeans Videos

REV'IT Recon Jeans

The REVIT Recon Jeans sport workman styling through abrasion resistant 11oz Cordura denim with a unique finish that makes the jeans stand out. Adding to the ability to withstand abrasion is the strategically positioned PWR | shield at the knees and seat. The jeans are constructed with PWR|yarn in triple stitches, ensuring sturdy seams. The Recon comes standard equipped with the extremely thin CE-rated Seesmart knee protectors, making it virtually impossible for the untrained eye to recognize them as motorcycle jeans. For extra protection the Recon jeans can easily be upgraded with Seesmart CE-level 1 hip protection thanks to the installation pockets. The workman style is supported by an array of pockets, including stash, slid, and back pockets. Simply turning up the trouser legs reveals cleverly hidden 3M Scotchlite that announces the rider’s presence in the dark.

Protection Features:

  • Outer shell: 11oz Cordura denim
  • Lining: polycotton twill
  • Composition:
    • outer shell: 85% cotton, 15% polyamide

  • Features: zipper fly front closure, comfort seat, triple needle stitching at side seams and back rise, safety stitching at inseam and comfort seat, extra comfort by mechanical stretch of outer shell

Note: The front traditional pockets are quite small ~4" deep, the intent is to use the large thigh pockets which are much easier to access when seated.

Very Cool Jeans!
Got these in 34/34. I wear a 34/32 jean but know 32 is a bit short for riding so got the 34s. They fit perfect. The waste and thighs will stretch out a bit after a few times on the bike so know that you will need a belt with these for sure after a bit. Overall they are really high quality and high styled. Looks like a pair of Euro pants you can wear all the time. They don't have the stretch fabric like some of their other jeans but they do stretch out a bit so if they feel a bit snug at first, know that after a few times on the bike they will stretch out. I have learned that the legs run a bit snug so they knee protectors do not move when riding. Love the look and wore them in 90 degree weather without getting hot. They are really great.

Excellent fit. Comfortable. Look good.
I wear 32/32 jeans. Ordered 32/32 and they fit great. I've worn these for about 600 miles of riding so far and have had no crotch binding. Very comfortable when riding. Thigh pockets work great for a wallet and smart-phone. Quality construction. The tapered fit does not look Euro - it looks almost tactical- and this design eliminates annoying pants "flapping". I'll probably order another pair so I have two pairs for long trips.

Rev'it Recon Pant
This is my second pair of Rev'it pants. Pretty happy with them so far. Just rode 35 miles in them to work and they were very comfortable. Armor is pretty inconspicuous and the reflective on the outseam when rolled is a nice touch.

My only gripe is that the stitching on one of the front zippered pockets is already coming loose and I literally received these pants yesterday. I will attempt to tack the seam back, but other than that I am satisfied with my purchase.

good riding jeans
I bought these jeans at a brick and mortar shop. I wear 32 regular jeans and the 32 of these fits me like a glove. The knee protections are not of any disturb, and albeit flimsy they are way better than none. The jeans have a cordura structure at your underwear and knee areas that is supposed to provide excellent abrasion protection (they claim up to 9 seconds of sliding, which is a lot, in perspective). Be as it may, these jeans are probably not better than any leather riding pants, but they are looking great and they made me feel somehow more protected on the bike. The front pocket are not bad looking, but this is my take. They are good for a cellphone and little else.
I haven't tested the pants in the heat of the Summer, but so far we had some days in the 80s and they weren't too bad, even standing in the sun. Airflow is limited, though, which may be a problem when we get in the hot season

Broken Stitch
I had these pants for roughly 2 months before returning them. The crotch began to unravel. This has happened to all of my jeans, but it took a couple years for my ICON Overlords and Dianese jeans to have this problem.

Pros:
Thigh Pockets Dainese did away with feature on their jeans and miss it. Most useful feature for tight fitting pants. Had a place for my phone, wallet, and 9mm magazine.

Material overall is durable despite the fact my pineapples would pop out while seated.

The fiancée likes them. Overall, not because I was loosing my luggage.

Velcro at the ankles makes putting boots on and off easy.

Cons:
Tiny belt loops. For a utilitarian style jean this was an oversight.

Not enough belt loops. Loops are too far apart to effectively hold the jeans in place. Could've spared two more loops at least.

Tight! Be sure to order two sizes up. I fit easily in a pair of Dainese jeans, but these jeans were unapologetictly snug. They loosened a bit, but still tight.

Questionable armor.

Not lined at crotch with anything. Probably the reason my previous jeans held up so well was because of the added reinforcement.

Conclusion:
I'm not seeking to replace these jeans with the same pair.

BEST ANSWER: No

The REV'IT Recon Jeans new for Spring Collection '16, part of the City Collection from REV'IT. I like what they're doing here. They're pushing the envelope. I saw these on a table the first time, and I said, "That is interesting, it's like a European Worker Pant."

They, to me, look Euro, but they're definitely aggressive and they're definitely something different. Now we look at it, one color only, dark blue, and they're 11 ounce CORDURA denim from REV'IT. So again, that's that beefed-up denim. You're also going to have Power Shield at the knees and seat, reinforcing things.

It also uses a lot of the other technology they're using in the REV'IT jeans, like triple-stitching, in-key seams, flat rivets. Again, this piece, I will just call out, if this is your style and you think it's cool and you're going this direction, it is a well-made riding pant. If this is too Euro for you, you can disqualify it on style, because it is certainly not for everyone.

Thirty-four Standards means that 34 waist and then it is, based on the size chart, and then it's going to be 34 inseam. If you went with a Short, it would be a 32 inseam, if you went with a Long it would be a 36 inseam. So, use a size chart to find your waist and then decide on what inseam you like. And remember, for motorcycle riding, typically you want a little bit of extra length, because when you bend your knee it's going to ride up a little bit.

Now, the other key thing I haven't talked about here is the armor. So it's going be CE level 1 REV'IT C-smart Armor, non-adjustable. It comes stock in the knees. There is a pocket up along the hip, where you're going to be able to add an extra layer if you want, but that does not come standard. Keep that in mind.

If we look at it, you have basic pockets along the inside of the thigh. Again, I don't know what you'd keep in there, but they're interesting pockets that open from the inside-out. It's a four-pocket design from a normal jeans-side of things, two on the front, two on the back, and if we look at it, they're not being bashful about the articulation. You can see this darting, right here. Again, in the riding position, it's going to keep things where they are supposed to be, and even the horizontal seams keeping things in place.

Again, they're being a little bit more aggressive and taking some chances, which I kind of dig. REV'IT City Collection-style buttons that are finished nicely, and you have your basic loops across the top. If I had one real nitpick, it's I like it when REV'IT does the double loops on a lot of their riding pants for strength, they didn't do it here. I talked earlier in the video about triple-stitching in key seams, nicely done REV'IT. I like subtle use of branding, it's not over-the-top, even though these are very Euro.

If we look at the back, the pockets are Euro. If we look at these, again it's got their classic quadruple or quintuple-stitch design, they do that "V" which is cool. Snap! But again, it's going to be a much more Euro configuration. And if we look down here, all the way at the bottom, toward the cuff, you're going to see that you have the ability to cinch these down, it's a large piece of Velcro in the back, to put everything where it's supposed to be.

Again, they're going with Recon, which it a little bit more tactical, a little bit more worker-jean or worker-pant inspired. So if you think about it within the REV'IT line, they make a lot of jeans, some with a little bit of protection, some with a lot of protection. They also skew towards cargo or worker-pant in some configurations. REV'IT continues to lead the charge, with other companies like your Rokker or your Dainase, again with different flavors, they capture different pockets of U.S. and or European positioning.
