Solid réputation of brand and looking for best class winter glove
Charles L on May 27, 2017
Looking for Gore-tex gloves that won't break the bank and with high quality features like protection, durability, multi-season, waterproof, touch-screen. I live in FL but like to tour the smokey's in the fall some people said these gloves are not really very warm so I got a size up and plan on getting a liner for cooler temps.

Had these just over a year now and have to say, best cold / wet weather gloves I've ever had, their comfortable all day and keep your hands dry in the rain, anything below 65 degrees outside and their great, anything above that and they are way to well insulated

Bought these for winter riding. They work as advertised and hands stay really warm with my heated grips now.

Trying to find the perfect rain glove....
Mark B on Feb 13, 2017
Got a new Klim Bandlands jacket and the cuff is not easy for a large gauntlet to go under the cuff. In Seattle if you wear gloves outside the sleeve, it's just a matter of time before the rain will wick down into the gloves. These allow me a GoreTex insulated short cuff glove.

This is the first time I have tried any REV'IT product and now these are my new favorite gloves! They take a long time to wear in, but afterwords they are awesome. My hands stayed warm and dry while riding in Montana rain for 3 days in a row. I bought them to replace my medium warmth gloves. I always have 3 pairs: cold, medium, and hot weather. These run a little warm for medium warmth gloves in sunny California, but I absolutely love them.

Robert asked for these gloves for his birthday.
Linda H on Aug 18, 2016
Very nice winter gloves, they are slightly thicker than normal gloves but provide good cold protection. If you need rain protection take into account these are not full gauntlets and you may get some water from the elastic part.

I wanted gloves to match my REV'IT! Ignition 2 Jacket.
Kevin B on May 14, 2016
because they look warm
William H on Apr 23, 2016
Great reviews and short, just over the wrists. Longer gloves tend to be more difficult to put on with my Klim jacket. They fit perfect..snug but not too tight.

Has anyone tried these in the Rain and Cold? I currently own the Rev'it Summit H2O gloves and I don't know how they can call them waterproof as 20 min into riding in the rain here in the North West they are completely soaked. I really don't want to invest in another set of rev'it gloves unless I know they are actually waterproof. I figure I would use a liner underneath to make them a little warmer in the winter months. Thanks for any replies.
JeremyR on Nov 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have used them in the cold and rain, but not for extended periods. they held up in soaking rain for the 20 minutes that I was in it. the temperature was ~50F
Are they too hot for commuting at 80F? Where I live temperature changes very fast and rains a lot so I would like to know if you think this gloves suit the challenge.
Mario L on Apr 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: In a word, yes. I can't imagine wearing these gloves in 80 degree temps. I bought them for cold/wet weather gloves and they work fine for that. They've got a decent amount of thinsulate insulation so there's a certain amount of loss of feel on the grips. I'd prefer only to wear a thick glove when i had to.
Where is the visor wiper?
BJTigerXC on Sep 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's the fabric on the index finger on the inner part facing the thumb, it's an absorbent material as opposed to a small blade, aka a snot patch
Are the fingers shorter on a XL compared to XXL?
A shopper on Sep 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi there! I've got a Size L. So can't describe the XL/XXL however I will say the large fit on the snug side... I probably could get away with and XL .. So if you're worried about a thigh t fit.. I'd try a size up !

Welcome to our detailed breakdown of the new REV'IT! Kryptonite GTX Glove available at RevZilla.com.

Standing on the success and the shoulders of what we considered a great glove in the Carver, this is the Kryptonite GTX. Now the Carver's going to be just over $100. It's going to be waterproof, short cuff. This is now a beefed-up Gore-Tex version taking that next leap from REV'IT. When I think about seasonality for this glove, I'm thinking about two to three season cold weather, city, sport, shorter jaunt, commuter. Again, not a full gauntlet. So again, if you're caught in rainstorms for hours on end, it's going to give you a bit of a gap in protection here. But if you want something rock solid that has the benefits of Gore-Tex, that's going to look great and match with a lot of different styles. This could be spot on.

And remember, if you're new to buying motorcycle gloves for wet weather and you need a Gore-Tex, Gore-Tex is the gold standard. It's completely mother nature and waterproof. But it allows your hand to breath. So if you start to sweat, that perspiration goes out through the membrane and allows you to stay the most comfortable. Many membranes on the market, Gore-Tex is the gold standard as the third party.

And keep in mind too that Kryptonite's going to be Gore Plus grip. So it's that extra fit where the Gore membrane is bonded to the insulation, bonded to the outer shell. There's no multi-layers of movement going on here. That's the big selling feature.

Now, quick note on fitment. It's a textile glove. Again, there's a little bit of stretch baked in here. But keep in mind, I wear about a large in an ICON, a large in a Firstgear. I'm an XL in a REV'IT. In my opinion, this glove's is part of their new line, fits between American and Euro. So I tend to go up. I'm going to error on the Euro side, which is one size larger than its American counterpart from another brand.

Now, some of the other standout features here as we work our way through, before I dive into the nuance, it's a touch tech finger, which is going to allow you to work on an iPhone or another multi-touch screen device. You see there's synthetic material right along the tip of the index and the thumb. That's a really nice touch. And again, the big other thing that I really like here is they've updated the knuckle with that new Trionic style. So still hard shell protection, but it's molded a little bit better, a little bit of increased coverage here, still a great protection scheme, a reflective scheme tying it back together. Again, rock solid in its design.

Now, some of the nuance of the glove as you work your way through the rest, notice it's a knit cuff. It's going to be that shorter cuff. You want a full double cuff that goes all the way back with a similar feature set. Check out the Taurus GTX. But that's going to put you into that $200 range.

Working our way down the glove, you're going to see that you have a basic REV'IT twill, which is a motorcycle fabric with a decent [inaudible 00:02:49] in the back, and you have your REV'IT logo worked into your reflectivity. But as you get now into the mid-hand, into the fingers, it's actually going to be PWR Shell stretch ripstop. So this textile's going to be a little bit more dynamic. It's going to move with you. It's PWR Shell, which means it's a specifically manufactured material by REV'IT. It's proprietary. And then you have that ripstop. If you scuff it or if you cut it or rip it over time, that micro ripstop means that that stretch or that rip's not going to run on you.

We talked about the knuckle already, which is one of my favorite things that they've updated across their glove line. And again, mid-digitally, you have great elastication, allowing for range of motion. They gave you some extra pops of protection on the top of the knuckles at your finger. And then notice, the goatskin on this glove is going to wrap all the way around the palm on to the fingers, and it's going to cap each one off. So again, you're getting that to keep it together, to give you better longevity.

Now, as I rotate around, you're going to see the inside of the index finger, that medial side, that's your visor wiper/snotpatch for colder weather riding. Again, great under your nose but great to squeegee off your shield as well. They did that here. That's a nice upgrade.

Remember, you're spending here for a glove, premium components. It is a short cuff, but it is pretty technical, and it's getting north of that $150 mark. As you rotate our thumb over, notice you're going to get another area of protection on the ball of the thumb or on the thumb knuckle here.

And then into the palm, it becomes pretty basic. It's a box finger construction. It's going to be goatskin throughout, which has a great feel to it, great tactile response. We talked about the fact that the index and thumb are going to have that touch tech element. Little bit of contrast stitching here in the fingers just to offset it. And they did give you at the heel of the hand, a nice temper foam landing area. So it's not what you'd consider a basic foam. It definitely has a memory quality to it. It's definitely dense. You can see how that ties in with your wrist adjuster here. And you have your Gore-Tex logo as you work your way down.

The other thing to keep in mind is the Kryptonite actually has a lightweight Thinsulate G fill in it. So it does have a light insulation. A lot of times, we'll see Gore-Tex, there'll be like two-season for fall and spring riding. I give this set two to three season wintertime rating because there is a light insulation worked in with the Gore-Tex liner that you do feel and is going to create a good deal of retention around the heat working within the Gore-Tex liner and the outer shell.

Any nitpicks I might have on this glove is, for longer distance Gore-Tex needed riding, a little bit longer is going to give you better waterproofing. But really, that's not this glove. That's the big brother that's going to give you that full cuff design and maybe give me a little more seam capture here on the lateral side.

All in though, as part of the new REV'IT glove collection, very happy with the upgrades they've made. Big step up over the Carver in the line. Again, the Carver's going to have Hydratex which is not going to be as waterproof breathable and comfortable as your Gore-Tex or your Gore with grip liner that's moving on here. Remember, if you want to go full cuff, look at that Taurus.
