Very Cool Jacket
A couple of years ago when an order from Revzilla was delivered, included in the box was a magazine called RevZine featuring the coolest urban riding jackets I had ever seen. As I could not find any of them at Revzilla, I contacted RevIt directly. To my dismay they told me that all the urban jackets I was inquiring about were designed for the French and Italian markets only, where riders appreciated the urban look and that I should pick something from the jackets designed for the US market. I told them that they were underestimating US riders, that some of us were as fashion forward as our counterparts in Europe. We left it at that and I had my brother send me a jacket from Paris.
Fast forward 18 months or so and the cool jackets started trickling into the US market. I ended up buying the Melville, followed by the Oxford and Hillcrest.
I like them all but I really love the Hillcrest. It's a very simple jacket with protection at the arms and shoulders, and the possibility to add protection to the back. What I love about this jacket most though is the way it looks. It has this fantastic retro look, almost paying homage to the cafe racers from the 60s, however it does not yell 'motorcycle jacket' at all. It looks amazing over a white shirt and a tie. You could wear this thing to a board meeting if you wanted to...
It doesn't have perfect airflow or a ton of features. That's not what this jacket is about. If that's what you're interested in, you should look elsewhere. But if you want a very stylish jacket that works on and off the bike, this is your jacket. I ride to work every day and I find myself reaching for the Hillcrest every morning. My only gripe has to do with the two way zipper as I struggle to perfectly align the pulls to be able to slip the zipper tongue into them and zip up. Other that this little thing, it's the perfect jacket for me, riding in Southern California.
I bought the titanium colored jacket, liked it so much that I wanted to get the blue as well. Unfortunately the latter is not available until the end of summer. I'll order it then. It's worth the wait.

Love the look and feel!
After doing a ton of research on jackets I decided to go with the Hillcrest and just got back from a 300 mile test trip to Key West in it. This is my first real riding jacket after using flannel shirts or a jean jacket. Keep in mind that I am a daily rider in Miami Florida so its friggin hot and humid nearly all year around no matter what you are wearing.

Pros:
The pockets are great with easy to use buttons on the go with a gloved hand. I was camping on this trip so I had a bunch of extra gear in my pockets for easy access and it didn't feel uncomfortable or affect the ride. Talking cell phone, chargers, couple packs of smokes, flask, glasses, etc.

Zippers were easy to use again with a gloved hand. I can unzip the bottom a bit when riding and it helps allow a bit more air to cool off the belly.

Style is top notch. I'm no GQ model but this is a sharp looking jacket without making you look like a cyborg with riding armor or like a sport bike riding Power Ranger look a like. (I got the blue one)

Protection: (not that kind) I have never used riding armor before but its a good feeling in the back of your head that I do have some soft armor on the arms and shoulders in the event of a tumble. The armor blends in seamlessly with the style of the jacket and is not noticeable when walking around.

Cons:
Its a bit warm while not moving but then again anything in Miami Florida is going to be friggin hot. Temps were in the 90's with about 1000% humidity so wearing a t-shirt would make you sweat like crazy. Since this is a non-water proof jacket some armpit zipper vents would make me grade it as 5 stars instead of a very strong 4. Even when its 90 degrees F out and riding at 30 mph + there is enough air flow from the wrists and front zippers to cool you off and have a comfortable ride.

Arm length: This isn't really the fault on the jacket. I'm 6'2 / 230 lbs and I got the 2XL size. I wish the arms were a bit longer but then again I do have pretty long arms and nothing really fits right.

Conclusion:
I simply love this jacket and would recommend this to any rider out there.. I've seen some low speed crashes with the rider wearing t-shirts and the road rash was pretty rough. I view this as something that improves my safety a little bit, keeps the sun from frying me, and allows me to carry my junk easily while on the bike.

Modern day style & fit
Love this jacket. It has a really cool vintage-vibe but cut in a modern fit so not big and boxy. It's a great option for warmer weather riding in that it has protection on the arms and shoulders. Definitely a slimmer cut, which I like, but if it's not your thing be forewarned. It's one negative is that it could have used some vents under the arms or elsewhere to give it a little more breathability. Lots of pockets both internal and external and a great zipper. Highly recommend, and an attractive price point.

Very Good Three Season Jacket
I bought this jacket after watching a review of it online. I was however skeptical if it would actually be a good jacket as most vintage jackets I've looked at are either way too hot to be considered three season jackets or way too slim fitting to fit those who gained the freshman 15 (50). Its not the perfect jacket but the good compared to the bad is very good in this jacket

Pros:

It breathes! While it may seem like the jacket doesn't breathe like a mesh jacket,it really does. Up to a certain point. I've only felt overwhelmed in the jacket a few times and each time it was over 100, zero clouds, and no wind. So I should have just stayed inside anyways.

European styling, without the Euro price. At 270 dollars, this jacket is a steal compared to others. Its build quality is amazing. It has been through several washes and severe thunderstorms and the quality has not dropped at all for the main jacket. My only gripe for the cost and build quality is that it is made in China, but I'm sure that was because of the cost benefits.

You'll look good off the bike (kinda). The jacket is tailored towards a certain type of build and that's the vast majority of riders who don't look like they are hiding a scorpion helmet under their shirts. With that being said, you will find that if you don't fit into said category, the jacket tends to fit way too tight. I had to buy a 2XL to fit me snug (not tight). Unfortunately 2XL appears to fit the taller but still slim rider, not someone who has a gut so it is bit long length wise. So off the bike the jacket still appears to have armor, especially in the elbow areas. Because the 2XL appears to be built for a taller slim rider, the length of the arms are a bit too long, but it balances itself out once you hop on the bike.

Cons:

The belt is super gimicky. Seriously, if you do get this jacket, look into picking up a separate belt from a military surplus store. The belt barely contours to your body and I have a gut so it should be squeezing my gut, but its not. Its not all bad though because the cinches inside will give you a more practical tightening method. If the belt felt more sturdy and had a few more holes, then it'd be fine but as of now the one that comes with it is rubbish.

Bottom zip can sometimes get stuck. It'll come apart with a lot of jiggling but its something to be aware of.

Summary:

If you're looking for a good (not best) jacket for a fair price, you can't go wrong with this. The jacket does have its cons, but the cons are very few. Best jacket I've bought since I started street riding and I can't praise it enough despite its odd fitment on me.

Reviewing on Fit
I ordered a Large. I am 6'3" and 185 pounds. I have a pretty slim and slender build and usually wear a large in other jackets/t-shirts/sweaters.

This Jacket fits me very well; it has a pretty tight fit, which I think is just the european style of the jacket. The arms and length of the jacket are just right. It was a bit too tight when I wore a sweatshirt under it, but you don't really buy a jacket like this for cold weather riding anyways. I rode @ 70mph in 50F (10C) today with a t-shirt and the jacket and was fine.

As for protection, I bought the CE-2 back protector that goes with this jacket and it worked fine, increased the tightness of the jacket but not too much. The cotton does not feel like it would hold up too well but I've never met the pavement before so I don't know (knock on wood).

BTW. Jacket looks awesome, I chose to go without the belt. Also, I ride a V-strom; if I rode a sport bike in a more aggressive/leaned over position the jacket might be too tight.

I expected better quality for the price
Even at $209 on clearance, I would not consider this jacket to be worth the price. The cuffs closures are poor - they are so loose they act as air and water scoops. The armor is minimal. The belt is junk - cheap buckle and its flimsy.

The best thing about the jacket is how it looks. I am a traditionalist and it looks very old school. The ladies like it - and thats only reason why I did not send mine back.

Stylish and comfortable
I needed to get a summer jacket that was light enough for zipping around a city, but not nearly as dense as my big leather jackets. This jacket is pretty awesome. Pockets for days, a belted waist to keep you looking trim, and a nice ring to hang your sunglasses off of when you're off the bike getting lunch. The armor is there when you need it in the shoulders and elbows, but thin enough you'll forget it's even there.

Fits well and love the style
I preordered this item in early may and it was delivered (as advertised) in the first week of June. I'm 6' and 165 lbs and the large fits perfectly. It's incredibly light and looks great; only thing this jacket lacks is ventilation.

Rev IT Hillcrest Jacket
Nice jacket for the money, Not a real motorcycle jacket in terms of protection. Fit is nice, draw string goes across my ribs, not uncomfortable, but taking a little getting used to. This is more of a style jacket, compared to the bigger tougher ones. I like it alot...I paid only $200.00 so it is fine...
