The Puig touring windscreen looks fantastic on the R1200R. The wind noise is is not as good as clean air, but for long rides at higher speeds it keeps the wall of wind off and better protection from the rain.

how do you take off the ordinal screen on a BMW f800gt to put the new one on?

BEST ANSWER: Enter an answer to this question.REMOVING THE SCREEN

1.Remove the 3 screws each side that hold the black trim (x2) in place at the front of the dummy tank

2.Starting at the rear, carefully prise out the panel so the screw holder is clear of the tank. Do the same for the screw holder at the front that goes under the fairing panel.

3.Once these are free to move, carefully prise the black panel away from the screen with your fingers (it’s a push fit locating pin). Once free remove the panels entirely.

4.Remove the screws each side of the screen that hold it to the fairing (these were hidden by the black panel). Then remove the 3 screws on the front of the screen (5 in total). Remove the screen from the bike and push out the metal washers (note which way they face) and then the rubber mounting grommets.

5.Remove the two anti vibration grommets (they slide out) located next to the mounting holes
Will it fit the 2015 f800gt??

BEST ANSWER: Hi, This windscreen fit on my 2014 F800GT with no problem. I have seen a 2015 model and the original windscreen looks exactly the same as the one that came off of my 2014. So, my guess is that it should bolt right on?

You could call a BMW dealer and ask if the part number for the 2014 windscreen and the 2015 windscreen are the same, if yes, then this will work for you.

I'll also add that this windscreen didn't quiet the wind noise as much as I had hoped, for it's rather large size, I was hoping for a larger pocket of quiet air?
How tall is the windshield from the bottom to the top? What is the width at the top?
A shopper on May 12, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Puig website will show the screen as 610mm (H) x 460mm (W) and being 140mm taller than the BMW F800GT OEM screen. These measurements must incl the lowest to the highest points on the screen curvature and also widest points where the screen is fixed to the bike. Actual straight-line measurements (as I have it fitted to my bike) are as follows:
- Height - from lowest apex (under headlight) measuring at the centre of the screen is 575mm (H)
- Width - At its widest point (where its is flared) 575mm (W) then curves in to be 340mm (W) at the very top.
As for actual height above OEM, not sure but the touring screen does take the buffering off the chest. Hope that helps.
I purchased this windscreen and it works great. Unfortunately, I need about 4 to 6 inches in height, can you recommend a spoiler or an extension?

BEST ANSWER: Wunderlich has some functional ones. Quality materials and completely adjustable.
What is the thickness of the Windscreen?

BEST ANSWER: Screen is 2 mm thick. I have it fitted to my BMW F800GT and its a solid, perfect fit with minimal to no shudder / vibration.

Being 6ft 1in tall (circa 186 cm) and with a standard OEM seat height, the only issue I have with the screen is that while it provides more protection to chest height, there is a higher concentration of wind on my helmet. Would seem I should have also got the Puig Deflector.
