Good idea, bad execution.
I have the Puig Touring windshield on my 2016 BMW R1200GSA. The Puig windshield is an awesome upgrade from the BMW stock windshield because I am 6'2 and the stock BMW windshield is too low. I have had the windshield on the bike for 6,000 miles and it really cuts down on the wind noise and wind blast. I usually cruise between 70 - 80 mph on the highway (depending on the speed limit of course) and find that The Puig windshield is best kept in the lowest position at those speeds so that I don't overtax the BMW windshield adjustment mechanism. The Puig windshield in the lowest position roughly equals the stock BMW windshield in the highest position. At highway speeds the wind blast with the Puig windshield in the lowest position just hits my helmet above the visor. I know this because all the bugs hit above the visor and none hit the visor which is great. I am reluctant to run the Puig windshield in the highest position if I am going over 60 mph because the windshield bends a fair amount and I was worried that the adjustment mechanism might not last long term. I have had the windshield in the highest position at speeds well over 80 mph and it will handle it but it is obvious there is considerable pressure on the adjustment mechanism. To alleviate this problem, I ordered the Puig Reinforcement kit for the Puig touring windshield. I waited several months for the reinforcement kit to become available and was looking forward to stiffening the windshield. Unfortunately the Puig windshield reinforcement kit was a disappointment. When I tried to install the right side, I found that the bracket that meets the windshield was not manufactured at the correct angle to fit into the BMW plastic support behind the windshield. It was about half an inch off. I tried to connect it anyway by forcing the bracket over half an inch but that wouldn't allow the screw that attaches the bracket to the windshield to "grab" enough of the windshield to have any hope of staying secure permanently. Also, once I did get the screw tight, the pressure on the reinforcement arm was enough to make adjusting the windshield up and down almost impossible without reefing on the adjustment wheel and "helping" the windshield move by lifting the windshield with my hand. In other words, it you wanted to leave the windshield in the same position forever, and never adjust the height, the windshield reinforcement kit would be alright. But if you want to be able to move the windshield with the BMW adjustment knob, the reinforcement kit doesn't work. I don't recommend this product. The Puig windshield is fine without reinforcement.

Shaky to solid
I'm only 5'10" but I have a tall wife at 5'11" and the passenger sits higher as we know. So I was looking for a bit more wind resistance from the screen and more comfort for my wife.

Additionally, I'm on the freeway more than I like living in a flat Florida. I often cruise between 75-95. At these speeds, the windscreen was a mess, not only vibrating, but the speed was enough to apply enough pressure that it lowered the screen. I tried to turn the knob to raise while riding and the force was enough I couldn't raise it.

I immediately ordered item #1128144, the Puig Reinforcement Kit. I found both this and the windscreen tedious to install. This isn't a dig on Puig - it's BMW's choice of where and what direction to bolt items. So it is what it is.

Regarding the reinforcement kit, I was cruising in the 100 range and this thing is rock solid. Given my touring speeds and style, the combo is perfect.

One note with the reinforcement kit by Puig - you lose a little on the lowest setting and a little at the highest setting as the bracket is more restrictive.

Okay, another note, you'll often need two hands to adjust the windscreen and it remains difficult to change while riding with this combo.

Personally, I set the windshield once depending on where and how I'm riding and leave it, so the lack of adjusting on the fly isn't a big deal to me.

I think that is it. Safe riding out there!

Good Fit and Function
Installation was very easy. A previous review stated that the mounting holes at the windshield did not line up properly. This might have been because the instructions are different if you have a GPS mounting bracket or not. The kit includes half inch bushings if you do not have the GPS mount. Everything lined up exactly on my 2014 GSA with the GPS mount. Adjusting the windshield with the BMW knob is usually a two handed job now, but I am hoping the sliding unit will loosen up slightly with time. Overall a great support device. Very solid and integrates nicely with the rest of the windshield hardware.
