Cool Sport screen / Cafe Screen for BMW R1200R Motorcycle
I have this on my BMW R1200R 2013 ABS. My bike i purchased used and it came with the touring screen mount and a 19" Cee Baileys screen. Although the quality was good, because of my build i had too much wind buffeting on my helmet. I decide to go with a small classic cafe sport type screen because the bike has a very classic look to it.

i looked at a few and decided to order the PUIG screen and try it. It was slightly bigger than factory sport screen and less than half the price. I couldn't be happier. It takes the pressure of the wind enough of my body and sends it over my shoulders and around my helmet. NO MORE BUFFETING.

This is not going to work exactly the same for everyone because the performance of the windshield is going to be directly related to your body build. I am 5'11 with a 32" inseam so you have an idea of where i end up on the bike. The screen works perfect for me and I would guess it will work the same for someone shorter than me or maybe a couple of inches taller. Its worth a try and for the price its a great deal.

I am posting couple of pics so you can see what it looks like on the bike. I got the dark smoke but they also make a clear. Its personal taste.

Install tip: install the side brackets first and bolt them on loosely. Then mount the screen on to the brackets and tighten slightly more than hand tight. Then tighten the side mounting bracket bolts completely. Then re-tighten the screen screws that mount screen to the bracket as needed. Do it in this order and you'll save your self quite a bit of time and frustration of figuring out that it has to be done in this order. The instructions weren't very clear. I figured this out by trial and error and sharing so you don't have to.

This one is a good size and doesn't cause any buffeting.

Needed a little bigger windscreen without having a "windshield". Got the dark screen and it looks similar to the BMW fly screen and no one will ever know I switched!

Does this come with the mounting hardware? If not, where do I get it? I don't see this addressed anywhere.
Harry R on Mar 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: My Puig screen came with all the mounting hardware necessary. Primarily it include two brackets that fit my 2012 R12R Classic perfectly. The brackets were high quality and painted black.
Does the air stream go over your helmet or just up to your chest ?
steven r on Apr 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It went on my wife's bike. She likes the protection. Her head is in nice still air no buffering at all. I'm thinking of putting one on my Thruxton R.
