Progressive 944 FST Ultra Shocks For Harley Touring 1984-2016 Videos

Progressive Suspension 944 Series FST Ultra Shocks For Harley Touring

Specifically designed to deliver a comfortable ride at a lowered stance. Built around Progressive's latest technology, 944 shocks utilize all the suspension travel provided by a taller shock but a lowered ride height. The unique Ultra Touring spring combination not only delivers a lowered ride height while it's being ridden, but also while it's on the side stand.

The Progressive 944 Ultra Touring shocks are available in 3 configurations; Standard handles up to 250 lbs. Heavy-Duty handles between 250-350 lbs. Super Heavy-Duty handles 350+ lbs.

Features:

  • Frequency Sensing Technology (FST) allows the shocks to sense the frequency of a bump and automatically adjust damping for superior ride quality
  • The Lowered 12" height option lowers the ride height 1" on most standard models and 0" on most stock lowered models
  • The Ultra Low 11" height option lowers the ride height 2" on most standard models and 1" on most stock lowered models
  • Adjust spring pre-load by hand, no special tool needed
  • Progressive Rate Main springs specifically designed for Touring Models - this shock is not made for any other HD product
  • Sold as a pair
  • Made in USA

Notes:

  • Shock lengths are measured as they sit installed on the bike, eyelet-to-eyelet on-center
  • Changing ride height may change other attributes of your bike, including trail and mechanical trail
  • A change in ride height at one end of the vehicle usually will require a change at the other end
  • Prior to purchasing shocks that are different than your OEM length, please verify that wheel and suspension travel can be altered without causing clearance issues - common interference spots include swingarm, axle, frame, tire, fender, chain/belt and guard, and exhaust

Great shocks!
These shocks are great. Installation was a snap. Shocks offer 4 pre-load settings that easily adjusts by hand. I set mine mid way initially. Might need to soften them a bit. Need to keep testing to find that sweet spot.
These shocks are 13", but lowers the ride an inch and improves the handling tremendously over the stock air shocks.
The price is a little steep. Although, with the improvement of the ride and getting me a lower to the ground without a lowering kit its easy to justify the cost.

Good Shock -- Stock Springs too Stiff
Purchased these for a 2016 Ultra Limited Low. We ride two up. 200 pound driver and 140 pound passenger. Talked with the folks at Revzilla and they recommended the lightest weight spring. I purchased the light spring.

When I installed them, ride was terrible. Like riding an old hard tail. Called Progressive and they blamed the install, then the bolts, then whatever else they could find. After numerous emails, phone calls, and pictures; Progressive agreed to sell me lighter springs.

Wow, that did it. Ride is now awesome. Getting Progressive to agree that the spring rate was too high was like pulling teeth. But in the end, the ride with the lighter springs purchased separately from Progressive is amazing.

Just do it
Bought these for my 06 ultra classic to replace the factory air shocks. Best thing iv done. JUST DO IT! You wont be sorry! I got the heavy duty shocks and with the preload cranked as low as it will go it just floats over bumps, barley noticable, and im only 189lbs with the bike empty. When i put the wife on the back i crank them up a notch, and when i am packed for a trip with the wife and trailer, i crank them all the way. Probably dont have to though. Corners are a dream. I find my self hitting corners a heck of a lot faster than i should but these shocks will keep you steady as a rock. So ill say it again. JUST DO IT! Open up your wallet and take the leap. If i ever buy my new street glide next year i will be putting a set of these on right away. Any questions on these you can do what i did. Call the manufacturer and or talk to the guys at Revzilla thier customer service is top notch. And NO i am not paid by either of these companies to wright this c r a p. It is my own opinion and choice that i would do again in a heart beat.

great shocks
I just returned from an over 7,000 mile ride, these shockes felt great.
I put over 100,000 miles on my Road Glide with the stock air shocks, I wish I had got these sooner.

Shocks are worth every penny
I purchased the Progressive 944 Series FST Ultra Shock for my 2006 Road King Custom these shocks are worth every penny. I am six foot 4 inches and weigh in at a 280 with a bad back, my wife is 125 lbs.' We love to tour long distances, with the OME air shocks I was crippled after about 100 miles in the saddle I dreaded hitting a rail road crossing or the typical New England frost heave covered road way. The Progressive Shocks are what the doctor ordered; first the ride is fantastic night and day compared to OME shocks. they recover very quickly, they adjust to the road condition, they never seem to bottom out and the dreaded bagger wobble is gone. I would go with the Ultra you can change the settings by hand no tools needed, so say if your riding solo or on a long trip, when drop your gear you can adjust for the weight change to suit your ride. This past weekend we did a 200-mile day trip we were less fatigued and my back was good to go the bride was happy. I generally do not write reviews but was so impressed with the dramatic difference and quality of the ride with the Progressive 944 Series FST Ultra Shock felt I had to pass it along, I was so impressed I am going to change out the front fork suspension for Progressive.

944's are good
Stock air suspension on my 2013 fltrx road glide were garbage. Bottomed out on every bump hard. It was time for something new that kept the stock lowered height of my bike. 944's fit the bill. I got the heavy duty spring rate I cause I'm a large guy. 350+. Ride is so much better now. Easy to install since I have a jack. Like that I can lighten or stiffen preload with a turn of shock cap. They fit great even with the rear quick release back rest or tour pack. I didn't have to mount upside down. Everything has clearance and nothing rubs.

Progressive 944 Shocks
Hey guys. Got my new 944s recently. Surprised at how fast they got to me. Told my wife I was going out to take my old shocks off and get the bike ready for the new ones. 45 minutes later I was coming out of the garage finished. Easy! made a world of difference in the ride. Handling is much smoother. My wife and I together are 450 pounds and these shocks take the load with problem. Thanx for your help!

Progressive shocks are some of the best shocks out there, plus I need to lower my bike about an inch
Swanson S on Aug 25, 2016
Wife needed to get lower and flat footed, we did everything, lower the fork 1", custom seat configuration (Mean City Cycles), narrow primary cover, pull back bars, this was the last step, should have been the second, oh well, as long as the wife is happy!!!

Simply put, I'm giving these a try because everybody I know in my circle are raving after having them installed. WTH, had to give it a shot myself. Will let the readers know more after the first 1000 miles on them.

Did some research online to improve the overall handling on my Ultra Classic. Still trying to find the sweet spot when riding with momma on the back. Ride is a little stiff for her. She likes the floating feeling of the Harley shocks. Handles much better.

I have a 2016 street glide special what shock will get me lower ?
A shopper on Sep 10, 2016
heavy duty or standard me and the wife 350 lbs?
A shopper on May 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Heavy Duty
what is the difference between regular and heavy duty? What is the load limit before you should go from regular to heavy duty
A shopper on Sep 11, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I use the regular duty shocks and are set on the softest compression on my 2013 Ultra. About 50% of my ride time is 2-up and with momma and I we tip the scales around 300 lbs.
Before purchasing I wrote to Progressive and they recommend if your 250 lbs or less and ride about 50% of time 2-up you should go w/the regular duty shock.
This summer we took a 4300 mile trip up north and out west and even w/the Ultra loaded to the max I still kept the shocks toward the softest setting.
Hope this helps.
Get out there and ride!
The wife and I are 450 pounds combined. What do you recommend?
A C on May 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: you wont be disappointed. Very happy with my 944 shocks
Which one should I use to lower my 2016 Road king for 1 inch?
Decha N on Sep 7, 2016
I own a 2005 electraglide FLHTCSE2 that have 12" stock shocks. If I install the 944 12" Progressive shocks, will my ride sit 1" lower? I do NOT want it any lower. Thanks
A shopper on Apr 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I would contact the manufacturer and have a professional answer this. That way you take all us DIY's out of making a mistake. Go to progressives website and get their contact number as I cannot post here. They will be able to advise you correctly. Thanks.
Will the 11" shocks work in conjunction with 13/8" lowering kit?
A shopper on Apr 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure if they will or not. But I don't really see a need for the lowering block with a lowered shock. I'm only 5' 3" and these are perfect for me. They are great shocks, but Progressive's customer service lacks a lot. Also, these shocks only carry a 1 year warranty! The lifetime warranty is only for the spring. Hope this helps.
Hi Guys, I have just bought a 2016 CVO Streetglide and want to lower it a little. Would these shocks fit the 2016 model? if so would I get the full 1"inch out of them?
Regards
Largey
A shopper on Nov 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You should get an inch drop, I recently put the 944 ultra low on my 2015 Roadglide Special and got a two inch drop as they said it would be.
It's all four item fit 2016 Road Gilde CVO ?
Thanks
A shopper on Aug 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I've enjoyed them a lot. You don't have to keep putting air in because of them constantly leaking air. No real adjusting, sit them to your comfort level and keep riding. For me great investment, no regrets at all. Worth the price.
Have 2015 road glide special with only side bags. I only ride alone and with the bags loaded only haul about 250 lbs. will these work on my bike?
A C on Nov 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely...probably one of the best upgrades you will ever do (besides a FI tuner...)
