Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa Tires

The Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa Tires are the most versatile hypersport tire for road and track use. The profile and structure make it a reference point in the segment thanks to the excellent support ensured in inclination and rapid realignment coming out of bends. Made with the most modern EPT design technologies developed in the WSBK to ensure maximum grip.

Three zone compound on the rear tire offers the best performance in varying conditions (racetrack and road). The differentiated compounds between shoulders and center zone are engineered to give the Diablo Rosso Corsa Tires cornering performance on racetrack and long lasting durability on road. The center compound has a high mechanical resistance, while the high hysteresis shoulder compound gives steady grip response and incredible traction even at high lean angles.

Diablo Rosso Corsa Tires offer a new way to measure tire performance: evaluating the ability to transfer the bike's power to the ground. Thanks to the use of data acquisition equipment normally used for Superbike applications, Pirelli was able to accurately measure the necessary parameters to calculate the power transferred to the ground by the bike and hence by the tires. The results showed that, coming out of the turn, at the moment the bike is at maximum acceleration, these tires are able to transfer at least an additional 10 HP to the ground in comparison to the other tires tested. The Diablo Rosso Corsa means faster acceleration coming out of turns, higher speeds in straight areas, and above all, faster lap times.

  • Three zone ultra high performance tires
  • Delivers track performance on and off the track
  • Positioning of grooves optimized for use on road and racetrack
  • Profiles and structures set the new benchmark of the segment ensuring high support while leaning and fast stand up while accelerating out of the corner
  • Pirelli patented EPT (Enhanced Patch Technology) optimizes the contact patch for the best grip on the road and on the track
  • By adopting Enhanced Patch Technology (EPT), DIABLO ROSSO Corsa ensures quick warm-up and a consistent hi-performance level lap after lap together with excellent performance recovery after stop & go
  • Pure racetrack performance combined with the comfort and predictability you expect from a high-performance street tire
  • World Superbike development technology improves structure and compounding
  • Continues with the aggressive Rosso tread design
  • W speed rating for speeds of 168+ mph

Rosso Corsa on Street Triple 675cc
My Triumph Street Triple (2013) came with Corsas. Having seen the relatively low mileage (4000 km) my hard-riding 1000cc friends were getting I was a little concerned. Turns out I had nothing to worry about, I'm almost at 10,000 km and they're still good. I commute daily and ride the mountains every few weeks.

Also, I've often ridden these in the wet, including some very wet conditions, as I live in a sub-tropical climate. Considering they're 50% a track tire, they deal with the water surprisingly well, better than I expected.

I'm still undecided about what I'll get next, the lure of greater mileage and better wet handling is strong ... but the grip on these tires is like some sort of drug!

Twisty Tire
This is the 4th Rosso Corsa I've had on my Speed Triple. I've tried several others but nothing offers the traction and confidence that the Corsa does. This IS NOT a tire to use if you're concerned with tread life or touring. I commute 20 miles each day down some fairly twisty roads and get about 2-3000 miles before I have a decent flat spot and some cords showing. That said, cold grip is great and it just gets stickier as it warms. They never get greasy even in 110 degree Texas summers. Wet traction is fair at best. I don't mind riding in the wet, but I'm very cautious when its damp.

Super sticky, great tire
I found out after buying my ducati streetfighter this is the only tire that will fit it, and it wears rather quickly 3500 miles.. But it's an awesome tire, super confidence inspiring, the grip is fantastic. I'd recommend this to any weekend warrior, maybe not a commuter though..

Amazingly grippy tire
First off let me tell you I went from the battlax bt016 to these and I can't figure out how anyone could ever even compare the two, the corsas blow them away in every way you could possibly want. I work swing shift, so I ride to work in the afternoon and ride home at about 1 am and with the battlax I would have to be extremely careful with the throttle when leaving work at night or the rear would break loose pretty easily, but I have not had the tire break loose once yet with the corsas and I've even clutched up some wheelies within a couple blocks from work when leaving at night without a problem. As far as turning goes it's a dream, super grippy and smooth. I'm so much more confident in the pirellis it's rediculous. Tread life is around 3500 miles on the street, but that's because it's a 50/50 street/track tire and well the more grip you get is typically the less mileage you get, but worth it imho. Wet grip got a 3 because I don't know and I don't ride this bike in the rain. I honestly don't know if I'll ever get tires from a different manufacturer again unless I could get a gigantic discount and even then I'd have to think about it, that's how good these are!

Great performance tire
I guess I should start off by saying that this is the only sport bike tire I can find in this size to fit my bike. Luckily it's a great performing tire. For my style of riding I would prefer something with a bit higher tread life over all-out performance. It has great grip, warm up quickly and does pretty well in the rain too. If this has to be the only tire available to me I'm glad it's this one.

Went to The Snake(Mulholland Canyons) next day, wax film and everything not the smartest idea but the tires held there ground. No slips no nothing even hauling butt on a turn..
My specs-

150 w/Gear Weight
I would highly recommend these tires to anyone that canyon rides.

awesome tire
been using the DRC for years now, just tried the 60 prifile and it is very grippy. I did not make any suspension changes at all, just mounted and go.
ran 600 track miles on this tire and it's holding up just fine.
Haven't ran any DRC in anymore than slightly damp conditions, but alway go slow anyway.

This tire was the OEM on my 2012 Ducati Streetfighter 1098S, they are great I wouldn't put any other tire on it. They are softer rubber so it probably does not last as long as some tires but the performance is awesome and I've been a downpour of rain at high speed with great confidence.

Paul C on Apr 22, 2016
Is this question serious? Why did I get them over the Diablo Rosso II or III? They're stickier. Why didn't I get the SuperCorsas? Better wet traction. It doesn't rain often here, but when it does I would feel more comfortable with a tire that offers slightly better rain performance. So the real answer is: compromise. My bike makes about 70whp, so don't need the super stickies. If I have to explain why I bought Pirellis, you're probably better off with Dunlops :p

How many miles are you getting on the rear before you get a flat-spot (i.e. tire is no longer round)?
Jairo M on Mar 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I use my V-Strom for highway & straight-up miles with primary wear of the tread center, but that's on different tires. I only use Rosso Corsa's on my Tuono and RC51 which both get track miles, so no center wear issues.
I currently have a dunlop sportsmart while it is a good tyre i am looking to move to a pirelli. what would be the tyre equivalent of the sportsmart and would a corsa be a step up? i ride street and track. thanks
strouyaki on Jan 2, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This is my second set of Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa front and rear. The other brand I used was Bridgestone Batllax I was not very impressed with those tires. I have a friend that have sportmax tires on the same bike that I have. The sportmax is good tire on the street and the track but the Rosso Corsa are better on both they have superior grip they warmup time is very fast and when they do the tires get so sticky that you can have a faster corner entering speed and you can get on the throttle faster and harder then the sportmax. The only down fall is that this tires are more expensive and you will get lower miles out of it
Has anyone used this tire and the Dunlop Q3's on the exact same supersport bike for comparison?
Jonathan M on Oct 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, as a matter of fact, I used to run Q3's and before that Q2's- then I switched to DRC's and later the Diablo Supercorsa SP- and I have never looked back! There is no comparison when it comes to grip. The Pirelli spanks the Dunlop easily. That grip comes at a price though, you have to sacrifice tread longevity in order to have decidedly better grip. You have to ask yourself if you are looking to push your bike to the limits of mechanical grip? Or are you far from being anywhere near the limit of your bike's capabilities? That's a question only you can answer- but if it's the former, then the Pirelli is the only tire you should run- if you are not really at the knee dragging phase yet- then the Dunlop is a decent all around tire for its price point. It's just like anything else- you get what you pay for! Hope this answers your question.
I currently have the SP (v1) on my bike. The SP v1 was sticky enough but I would prefer slightly longer tire life. Having said that, I don't want to go to a tire with less stick. Will the Rosso Corsa be as sticky or should I just get the SP v2?
keithp on Aug 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello Keith
I'm not familiar with SP V1 so unfortunately I cannot comment.
However I have used RC and SP on two bikes, the Ducati SF848 and Kawasaki zx10r ABS. Both on road and track. The RC is a very good tire and I have never had a problem with them - either road or track. However comparing the RC and SP is very simple.
SC excellent grip - period. Maybe 2,000 + kilometers if you ride hard road/track. Excellent feedback.
RC very good grip - period. Maybe 3,000 + kilometers if you ride hard road/track. Very good feedback.
Both fronts should give you about double mileage than rear.
All above is you take care of having the correct air pressures.
Both tires in wet are okay but not the best. Not too much rain or wet here in UAE but the few times on wet surfaces both don't give lots of confidence.

I feel confident in using both tires on the road and track but if you really want to get better grip, nail the line and very good feedback and be out of the correct tire pressure a bit the SP, no question.
The RC is all the above but in lesser degree however this "lesser" is still very good. You can see a picture of one of my rear tires in the review section and get an idea

How does the pirelli diablo ross a corsa tire compare to the mich power pure? which tire would you recommend?
A shopper on Apr 26, 2012
BEST ANSWER: rode with a friend who used the power pures and he complained about slipping atleast once a 30 minute session while i only slipped twice the entire day with 10 sessions but that was my fault because i was on the brakes. same friend lets me ride his 600 on the street and they are pretty close, still prefer my corsas to his power pures on the road with not so hard riding. i don't like the shape of the power pure. it feels like it leans in unevenly while the corsas are round and the lean in feel more controlable.
I am running Super Corsa (Pirelli) on my Panigale. HOw would this new Rosso 111 compare?
A shopper on Jul 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I own a triumph street triple 675r, they come with the Diablo rosso corsa tires from the factory. I've replace them twice for the same tires, they are great tires, they warm quickly, are sticky and have good water dispersion (used them at the track) and overall grateful all around tires (from street to track) , but recently I actually switched to the supercorsa V2, I noticed a substantial difference in grip and lean angle (at the track), they do suck in the rain though. Depends on your use I guess, more street/commuter driving stick to rosso corsa tires, otherwise for the closest to slick tires without warmers, keep the supercorsa tires.
Is it advisable to patch this tire? This morning I noticed that Id picked up a nail in the rear tire. I only have about 1000 miles on it and Id like to keep riding it if its safe to do so

A shopper on May 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The safest answer is no, it is not advisable. Being that 50% of the most important component of your bike has been compromised, the best and safest solution is replacement. That being said, if you do not intend to use this tire aggressively and keep a constant eye on tire pressures, it can be done. I have several friends who have patched there motorcycle tires with no ill effect. But ultimately, the price of your safety is up to you.
Recommended tire pressure?
A shopper on Nov 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: For my Street Triple R I run 32 Front 37 rear on the street. On the Track I run 29 front, 25 rear. Work excellent once warm.
Hi my name is Oleg and i was wondering, can i fit this tire with size 200/55ZR17 78W on 2009 yamaha r1? thank u!
A S on Jun 21, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello Oleg,
I don't know but please consider the following:

You will have to check if swing arm and chain side distance is more than 200 mm both separetly as you may have space in the swing arm but the chain could be lesser.
The other point is the sidewall or height of tyre are measured as a ratio between the first (width) number and the second number. 200/55 means that width is 200 and shoulder is 55% of 200, in this case 110 mm whereas the original tyre I think is 190/55 or 190/50 meaning the height of the tyre is 104.5 and 95 mm respectively.
Most importantly this tyre will make your bike to be less flickable, meaning it will not turn as quickly as designed due to different tyre profile. Also the tyre carcass will not deform as needed for the bike design which might not have the grip you are looking for - some debate here though.
My suggestion: stick to the original size, your bike will perform better.
Hi I'm using other 2 compound technology tires and feeling that the grip isn't satisfactory while breaking hard or accelerating hard. Any similar issues on the Diablo rosso corsas as well?
