Visor needs serious redesign
The helmet proper is quite good, solid fit, quiet and comfortable. The visibility is good and the cooling is average, not as good as my Scorpion 3000 but not bad. Where it really falls down are the visors. The distortion through the sun shade is so bad it's hard to read signs on city streets. The wind visor is just pathetic. It's about 1/3 thinner than my old Nolan or Scorpion and, unless it's fully closed, at speeds over 35 mph, it vibrates so much it's just not safe. Neither of my other helmets or even my wife's HJC do this. I contacted Nolan about it and the answer was basically, "yes, we know", not exactly confidence inspiring. All bikes are different but I'm not sure if I'm going to keep this one or not.

Pleasently surprised.
Ok, I used to have a Nolan 104 a few years ago and didn't like it. It was sloppy on my head, noisy, and drafty so I replaced it with a schuberth c-3 pro. Having used the schuberth until recently I have come to the following conclusions: the schuberth is very quiet if riding a naked bike, or when standing up so as to be out of the turbulence zone. However this is only true when all the vents are closed. When the vents are closed my glasses and sun shield really fog up forcing you to open at least one vent and when you do the helmet becomes very noisy and is noisy when riding behind a fairing or windshield. So I took another look at the Nolan and was surprised to find that the previous Nolan I had was the wrong size. It was a large and the sizing chart says I should be wearing a medium. I bought the large because that was the size of the last helmet I owned, a HJC. So I decided to give the Nolan another go. I bought a medium and found the fit to be perfect, snug and secure but not uncomfortably tight. Nolan made changes to the new 104 absolute as well. They eliminated the brow vent which always leaked in the rain allowing water to run down the front of my face, and they made changes to the inside liner material as well, even adding removable foam to allow for wearing glasses. My biggest surprise came when I stood up to stretch my legs while going 65 mph; it was as quiet as the schuberth with the vents closed, but mine were open. Even closed my glasses and drop down sun shield did not fog up. Weight is as follows: schuberth wiith OEM communication system installed weighs in at 4 pounds even, the Nolan with a Sena 20s installed weighs in at 4 pounds 3 ounces. I can ride all day, every day with that light a helmet, and regarding the field of view...Schuberth doesn't come close to the Nolan which is like looking out of a picture window. Regardless of what others have said the shields thickness mikes up the same as the old one and is very stable at highway speeds, and distortion free. As a matter of fact putting down the sun visor even makes everything clearer. Of course these findings are based on my personal experience but the new Nolan N-104 absolute is a winner in my book, absolutely. Oh, much cheaper too.
