waterproof & large
The bag is everything that it is advertised to be. I purchased it to do a weekend 1000 mile trip that involved some camping and strapped it down to the back of my 06 zx10r using rok straps. I was able to fit an air mattress, sleeping bag, tent, heated gear, rain gear & normal clothing. I than attached to the top of the bag another water proof bag using the straps that are included. it worked out perfectly. i rode through a decent amount of rain and it is definitely waterproof. the additional exterior compartments, loops and straps allow for multiple mounting and securing options. the only place that this bag fell short for me was when you roll/twist the top of the bag up and than secure it using the clips running along the side of the bag down where the fuel canister is shown in the photo; the clip instantly pulled right off of the nylon strap. the thread they use i guess is not strong enough or isnt doubled/tripled up for strength. so, i had to use 3 safety pins so i could properly secure the bag. this happened on the very 1st use of the bag. additionally, i did put the bag on my back as a backpack and it felt very comfortable and the adjust-ability of the straps were perfect.

Great bag, Plenty of space, needs a little refinement but I still recommend it.
I have bought the 40L version and over all the bag fits a lot of stuff. Sleeping bag, tent, tent tarp, air bed roll, helinox camp chair & a camp pillow all fit easily. The webbing loops are very handy and the air valve is nice to compress everything down. Just a couple of things that if Rigg could change would make this bag perfect:
1. Tie down straps are a little too short, maximum length is 42.5"(108cm) and when you load the bag up it is just a little too short to close and cinch down. Another 6" of strap and they will be perfect.
2. The side bottle pockets have a bungee cord with a locker however there is nothing at the end to keep the locker from sliding completely off. This is pretty annoying having that locker slide completely off and fall to the ground/brush/mud etc then try to put back on. The bungee as is it too short to knot or I would of knotted it, suggest Rigg to knot is with longer bungee or put a stopper loop on the bungee to keep it from sliding off.
3. Some better system to stow the backpack straps. Not a huge deal but would be nice, or provide some clear instruction of how to stow them away.

Overall I really like the bag. No water got in during a 3 day ride/camp trip that rained everyday all day. I do recommend.

SO BIG!
Write your review here. It must be at least 25 characters long. ConI emptied all my rain gear out to find out for those who needed to know. I used my precise digital kitchen scale and cycled through the modes so that nobody had to convert to any other unit. It was quite surprising that it weighted as much as it did since it felt so light to me. ?? I’m sure each one may vary a bit in weight due to slight variations during the manufacture process.

One thing to know is that this bag is HUGE! Maybe I should have gone with the 20 liter version, but my value logic disagreed since it was only about $25 more. ??I had no idea since this is only my first “motorcycle” backpack and I wanted it to be waterproof now that I am back to riding to work everyday in this beautiful but wet Florida weather. So far I haven’t had to test the waterproof features yet since it has only sprinkled a bit during my ride so far, but I will try to update this review when the inevitable rain happens. I use it to carry all my rain gear and lunches to work along with a few odds and ends and have a huge amount of space left. In fact I picked up 120 hotdogs for a cook out on the way home and could have fit many more without even stuffing it.

The construction is simple with one big area inside with a pocket for an iPad or similar tablet or laptop with no straps along with a pretty big pocket with really strong Velcro and a Molle panel with a small zippered pocket that looks to be waterproof. I wrap the extra strap lengths up and secure them with the elastic bands to keep them from flapping around. The bag compresses down easily with the waterproof purge valve into a manageable size for my normal commute every day and I know that I could fit many vinyl records if I end up at the record store and get a little crazy. This is what killed my last backpack’s zipper. ?? So far I really like it and will update this if anything changes.sider whether you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.

Nelson Rigg Hurricane 40L Backpack
Like the size and the ability to make it a tail pack, which I have yet to do. Could prove useful when packed full. Able to do plenty of errands with that volume. Very pleased.
