Michelin Pilot Road 3 Rear Tires
Building on the tremendous reputation Michelin has built over the years, the Michelin Pilot Road 3 Tire is the successor to the award winning Pilot Road 2. With the Michelin Pilot Road 3 Motorcycle Tire you are really getting 2 tires in 1, by integrating a soft rubber compound on the tread shoulders with a wear-resistant compound down the middle, Michelin gives you the best of both worlds. The Pilot Road 3 is a dual compound sport-touring radial tire.
Revolutionary X-Sipes technology maximizes wet traction
- Michelin’s newest technology delivers all-weather performance without compromising tread life or handling
- Patented innovation resulting from years of research and development
Sipes increase the tread's drainage capacity
Sipes generate pressure at the edges of the sipe blade, which helps to break through water film
Two compound technology combines tread life and cornering grip
- 2CT incorporated into all tire sizes, front and rear
- Wider soft-compound shoulders on the front tire, compared to its predecessor
High performance and environmentally sound
- 100% non-aromatic-oil rubber compound
Note: Sizes denoted by "B" are designed specifically for loaded sport touring bikes, or for riding two-up.

Reviews & Questions
As soon as they arrived I had a local shop install them and needless to say, I have put 15.5k miles on these tires and still going strong.
I do a lot of freeway and side street commute to school and work and do occasional canyon rides here in So.Cal. And yes, rain or shine I do ride still.
Images are attached to this...feel free to browse and see what I am talking about...
It is better than the Newer model.
It works great on supermotos,Cruisers,Sport bikes,And touring machines.
I currently have it on a WR250XX and a ZX14R SE.
Very versatile tire.

I have been riding for thirty years and this tire is well worth the buck($). Pirelli, Dunlop, Bridgestone, Conti, Menzler, and then the lower shelf tires come close in a lot of different ways but none of them come close in all of the ways a rider demands in a tire. Each Gen of Michelin Pilot Road gets better and better in every way. The most stable all around tire.
Twisties, straight-a-ways, bad weather, and long rides this is the tire. I could go on and it would just be repeating myself as I have already have. I also could tell you a story of how I drove some race through Monti Carlo on a Ducati, in the sleet, blind folded, scraping my knees, and scraping my helmet on buildings at 165 mph but why? That has nothing to do with the tires specifically that is more of a testament of my superior driving skills. Too Funny... These are great tires and you cannot go wrong. Ride safe and PEACE!
I am caught between sport and sport touring, but I don't go to the track and ride only 2k miles per year (90% is mostly all weather commuting and the remaining 10% is occasional weekend twisty trips).
I ride a Yamaha YZF-R1 07
I ride a Street Tiple R
Every other set of tires I've tried have flat spotted really bad after a thousand miles. I have about 4 thousand on these and they still look new.
Only thing I did not like was how long they took to scrub in. Every turn or corner I took it felt like the bike was going to just fall over and low side. Once scrubbed in however, they've been excellent
I would recommend this tire to the agressive rider. For the more tame… you can sertainly save monie and get a lesser tire. > You will most likely not push your self nor your bike to the point that this tires' abilities kick in. But… if you get on your bike and want to have the confidence and self assurance that you are on a performance proven tire; this is the tire for you. Well… it has won my loyalty.
