Michelin Commander 2 Front Tires

Peformance Features:

  • Unrivaled tire life; Michelin tests with a Harley-Davidson® Electra Glide® Classic prove a Michelin® Commander® II is capable of covering up to 40,000 kilometers (Almost 25,000 miles).  The Michelin® Commander® II creates a new standard in regards to durability, without making compromises in wet weather grip, maneuverability or stability
  • Silica Rain Technology integrates silica into the compound of the tire tread in order to prevent all forms of uneven wear
  • The exclusive architecture of the Michelin® Commander® II brings both maneuverability and stability. The tire’s rigid, high-density carcass improves maneuverability, while the aramid fiber crown ply of the tire enhances resistance and lightness for impeccable stability, even at high speeds
  • Numerous longitudinal grooves of the tire's tread pattern optimize water dispersal for outstanding wet weather grip
  • Independent tests show that the Michelin® Commander® II tire lasts almost twice as long its main competitors, the Metzeler ME 880 and the Dunlop D407/408.

Technological Features:

  • Amplified Density Technology: A highly dense, more-rigid tire casing, which helps deliver excellent feedback and handling
  • Aramid tread plies on the tire resist centrifugal growth, reduce weight and provide excellent stability
  • Improved rubber compounds for remarkable wet grip, without compromising durability
  • Square bead wires improve casing rigidity, handling and ease of installation

Styling Features:

  • Unique tread pattern for head-turning looks
  • Premium sidewall treatment complements cruiser styling

Please Note: Check your manufacturer's specifications for required load ratings when replacing OE Tires.

Please Note:  140/75R17 size is a radial tire.

Please Note:  130/90/B16 is not suitable for fitment to rear wheels.

Excellent Tires!
Feels like a brand new bike, suddenly I can lean around corners even with the 240 tires in the rear on my HD Night Rod. I did a great deal of research but these won out cause they should last 3-4 times as long as the other performance tires and still provide excellent grip!

So far so good if it lasts like the rear it'll be great.
I purchased this tire, and took it to a dealer to install. When I arrived he asked me why I didn't just put the front on when I had the rear installed. I asked what he meant by that, and he responded that the rear tire was new as well why not do them at the same time. To this I replied that the rear tire had 8,000 miles on it. This tire wears extremely well. The handling so far has been great, and wet traction seems very good as well. I would recommend this tire to any one who puts allot of miles on their bike. All in all a great tire at any price.

Great overall tire
This tire has never let me down, overall one of the best, stiffest, grippiest tire ive ever used. I love to ride hard through the twisties and this tire puts up with everything ive thrown at it with absolute confidence. 10/10 will buy again (when they actually wear out that is...)

Great Tire
Probably the best set of tires I've ever bought. Handling and ride quality much improved over the stock tires. Already have had a few long runs and am glad I made the purchase.

Great product, great service
I think this tire was a great purchase. It grips well, and I feel like the price is actually a fantastic deal. I've only been riding on it for a couple of weeks, so I can't say anything about tread life yet. Also, I live in a desert climate, so little to no issues with wet traction. And as always, excellent customer service and shipping from the team at Revzilla!

These tires battle the grooved freeways here in SoCal better than any other tire I have tried...and I have been through a ton of tires!!! Great price to round it off!!!

I haven't placed this tire on my bike, but I am familiar with the Commander II Rear tire and it is like night and day when riding, regardless of weather conditions. I am very comfortable while riding in the wet as this brand of tire loves to grip the road and slipping isn't a part of its vocabulary. I'm confident that the front time will be of the same level.

is this tire for tube type or tubless application?
A shopper on Mar 1, 2016
I am replacing tires on my 2010 H.D Heritage Classic. FLSTC I want to replace the Dunlop with Michelin Commander 2. The rear tire is on the fit guide 150/80/16 71H. But the front tire does not have one listed for this bike with the exact specs.
Currently I have been running Dunlop 402 (MT 90/16 72H) my question is which Michelin Commander tire is right for the front?
The last # (72H) is different in the guide for Michelin. I'm not really sure what the 72H means.
I really want these tires but I don't want to screw up.

BEST ANSWER: I used matched set and love them the size seem to match my old dunlaps but the front tire tread seemed backward to the direction shown for mounting them forward. Never the less I mounted the direction it said and hadn't had a problem with them on dry or wet roads. My bike Virgo 1100. I can't remember the sizes off the top of my head. Hope this helps!
What is the differance between the front and rear tire. Will a front tire work on the rear.? Size is the same.
A shopper on Mar 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No it will not.
I like what the Michelin Commander II promises and want a set except that they only make a size to fit the rear of my 03 Vulcan Nomad. What would be a good front match for this tire?
A shopper on Apr 5, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I ride a Yamaha Roadliner and was told not to mix brands of tires. To get the Michelin Commander II tires on my bike I had to go to a 200 radial tire while using a 130-70-18 bias ply Michelin Commander II front tire. 6,000 miles later the combination works well. If you can get a Michelin Commander II in other than and OEM size to fit your Nomad, that would likely work well.

P.S. The Michelins are far superior to the original Dunlops and replacement Bridgestones I had on the bike.
Hey guys, I'm trying to find a 120/80-17 tubeless Commander II. I've only found the 120/90. Do they make it in the 80? I've looked at other sites and can't find it. Thanks for your help!
A shopper on Mar 16, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Currently, Michelin do not offer the Commander II tire in a 120/80-17 fitment only a 120/90 B17 and Michelin do not recommend as a replacement for 120/80. We hope this helps you with your decision.
The 130/90-16 size says [reinforced] next to it. Very few of the other sizes say this. Any idea what that means?
Grant P on Feb 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Does not mean anything if the loading has the same rating.
I have a 2012 Victory Vision, the front tire is 130-70-R18 - 63H, the rear is 180-60-R16 80H. I would like to get the Michelin Commander 2 tires. They have 130-70-B18 63H for the front and they have 180-65-B16-81H for the rear.

My question is, can I go with the 65 instead of the 60 for the rear and can I use the bias instead of the radial ( which is better)?
A shopper on Sep 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I had a 2013 Victory Cross Country Tour, I ran Avon Cobra tires on it and they were fantastic. I now have a 2016 Harley Ultra Limited Low and when I replaced the factory tires I went with these Michelin Commander II tires and man am I glad I did. My Victory also used radial tires and I do not miss the radial tires at all, the bias ply tires are fantastic. They have been grate in the dry and the wet so far. The little bigger tire on the rear will slow your speedometer a little bit but you should be well within 3% so it will likely be off only 1 MPH. The Victory's have lots of room and you should have no problems using this tire.
my tire size is 100/90-19 is this tire suitable? I don't know what the B or 57H stands for. I ride a 1978 Honda CB 750
A shopper on Jul 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This tire is suitable for your bike. B simply means BIAS. That's the layering and making of the tire. R is for Radial. Tires comes in B or R. (Bias or Radial). 57 H is the load capacity and maximum rated speed. Check out understanding motorcycle tires on YouTube. This tire will last longer than the regular tires. So go ahead and buy it. You should be rest assured that you can not go wrong with Revzilla backing you up. NB: Revzilla is not paying me a fee nor do I have any personal interest in the company. I am just giving you an honest review based on my experience with the company.
Hey, so I've been working on a CX500C motorcycle and I need some new tires. My bike is obviously a middle weight bike so do any of you think this would be a good tire to get? Keep in mind that I love low slung handlebars and twisty roads. Thanks guys. :)
Dillon C on Apr 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have a pair on a Sportster set up for mountain and canyon roads. I have worn them to the edge of the tread so I would say they work fine. For calibration, I also have a Super Duke and have been to Keith Code's school, so I understand cornering.
Hello. I have a Harley Street Glide Special. I'm looking for a replacement back tire for the Dunlop D407T 180/65 R16. I'm would like to get the Michelin Commander II. I have two questions. One, I know it would not be ideal to have the back tire different from the front tire, but would it be acceptable? Two, the front tire is a Dunlop D407T 130/60/ R19 will the Michelin Commander II 130/70 18 work? Other sites' tire selector are saying that is the acceptabel replacement?
A shopper on Sep 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes buy them. you woo not be sorry
