Very light, excellent price, awesome look.
The LS2 Pioneer is true to size, though the cheek pads are a tad snug (I'm still breaking the helmet in so this could change). The airflow is excellent, The wind noise is pretty loud at higher speeds, which is to be expected from a dual sport helmet. The flip down inner sun shade is an awesome feature and the mechanism that operates it is much better than other helmets that have this feature. The quick release strap is very easy to use with gloves. One of my main concerns when purchasing this helmet was SENA mounting. I have an SMH10 and love the clip mount. Unfortunately the clip mount will not fit in between the padding and shell due to the location of the sun shade mechanism. I ended up using a sticky mount and adding double sided tape to fill the gap. With the way I have the SENA mounted, I was able to retain the flip down sun shade function. For those concerned with space for the speakers, the ear cutouts are very deep. I was able to mount my speakers directly on top of the ear flaps and I do not notice them against my ears. LS2 also included a very nice helmet bag. Overall this is one of the best and lightest dual sport helmets in the sub 150 dollar range.

Great Helmet would buy again
Purchased this helmet to wear on my DRZ to keep my Neotec in better shape longer. Wanted something cheap but still nice. Had hear good reviews for LS2 helmets and wanted to give them a chance.

Overall this is a great helmet in the price range. Look is great in the black and white Trigger graphics.

My main requirements was a drop down sun visor which this has and comes down low enough to block enough wind with the main visor up and not have the edge in the line of sight.

Helmet is super light and flows a ton of air. Flip side is this helmet is loud, but my main helmet is a Neotec. Even so, the noise isn't too loud and with ear plugs its not too bad.

The only weak point on this helmet is the liner. To the touch its soft but the padding is thin so it lacks that plush feeling like more expensive helmets. I wouldn't necessarily toss out the term you get what you pay for because it is still a nice liner for the price point, but if this could be improved LS2 might be able to lock down this part of the market.

Fit for me was fine, I wear a large in most helmets and fit the same in this one. Dosnt feel larger than other large helmets.

The roost visor dosnt get caught in the wind too much. I can feel the drag but its not tugging in the wind. I felt more of a pull wearing this on my 800GS with its small windshield that funnels more air then on my DRZ where I'm in free flowing air. The roost visor does come off, there are two screws on top and one on each side. The side screws hold down the main visor/shield and went put back together it dosnt look as clean, but its functional.

Chin strap is a ratchet type. First helmet Ive owned with one. I dont feel any issue with it rubbing against my neck.

So... over all a good helmet at the price point that I would recommend and buy again.

Great helmet for the price
I came back on here to write a review and noticed the price of the helmet when up $20. I got this for $139.95. Still worth the price.

I took the helmet out for a nice ride today. It was very comfortable and was about normal on the noise side. Not overly loud and certainly not quiet but I didn' t find to be annoying loud and I do not wear plugs.

The fit is pretty true to most helmets I have (shoei and HJC) I wear a large in those and got a large hear. Remember helmets are supposed to fit a little snug. My head actually measured 23 3/4" which was in between the L and XL. I went with the L and glad I did.

The built in sun visor worked well but in order to get it to sit all the way down, you sort of have to help it down with your hand. Maybe after using it a lot it will break in some. The clear visor was great with a nice wide field of vision. This helmet also took my MX googles and you CAN close the shield while wearing googles if you want.

Air flow seemed fine but it wasn't a very hot day.

Great looking helmet, very nice features for the price. Glad I got it.

Great Helmet
First off, this thing is light! Very light, which is a plus in my book. Two days of riding with it and its like its not even there. The fit is pretty comfortable as well. Only issue in that category is the cheek pads are a bit too big for my face. This might just be the norm for me because my Shoei NeoTec has the same issue. The finish on the helmet is very nice. Looks way more expensive that it is. Talk about flowing air. This bad boy does it well! Kept me cool all day. The downside to this is that its a bit noisy. But, its an adventure helmet so being able to hear things around you while you are on the trails is a good thing. The fit is pretty much true to size on the size chart. I wear a medium in all helmets and this one is no different. My only gripe about it is the bottom of the face shield where it locks onto the helmet. There's a lip or edge on the shield that's in my line of sight of the instrument cluster. This edge creates a blurry view when looking through it. (Not sure if that makes sense :) but either way, I just lowered the front of the helmet down a bit more over my face and it hasn't been an issue since. So, if you want a very nice dual sport helmet for a very nice price, this one is for you.

Great helmet for my KTM!
This helmet is amazing for a dual sport helmet. Definitely not the helmet for freeway cruising but for around town and in the mud, I love it! My only real gripe with this helmet is the only place to mount my Sena SMH10 is directly in front of the internal sun visor switch. When you're wearing gloves you'll end up bumping your volume switch on the Sena trying to put down/up your visor.

The "Red" is actually orange which is why I purchased this helmet, fits perfectly with a KTM! The cheek pads on the helmet have an orange color to them on the top which is a real negative for those who have the black/green or black/white style as the manufacturer uses the orange insert for all styles.

Still a great helmet for the price! Definitely recommend!

Very pleased with this helmet. Great venting.
This is my first 'dual sport' type helmet, with the flip down face shield as opposed to my MX helmet and goggles. I purchased it as a true Dual Sport helmet (not Adventuring Touring) so this review is based on both technical and fast trail riding, but not highway use. I was concerned that the ratchet on the strap (I only ever used Double D-rings before) would feel odd on my neck, but it is really unnoticeable while riding. Venting is excellent and I was comfortable all day in the Florida heat and humidity while riding in the Ocala National Forest. Visibility is excellent on the trails and the flip down smoked shield is a great feature. Neither the visor or smoke shield creates any sort of noticeable distortion. I use ear plugs, so noise is not an issue.
The low price does not mean this is a 'cheap' helmet. Fit, finish, & features add up to great value for the price.

Great Starter Dual Sport Helmet
Bought this helmet because it had the most options in a dual sport helmet in this cheap price range. I'm going to try to write as complete of a review as possible.

Build quality:

It's a cheap helmet. Plastic shell, it creaks a lot. The chin vent is plastic. White EPS foam is visible inside the helmet underneath the liner. The nose protection is very thin durable rubber (not stiff). Inner sun shade mechanism works great, sometimes it does not retract ALL the way easily.
Outer visor is good plastic, but it DOES NOT have detents or any intermediate locking. Fortunately you can leave the visor cracked open and the wind has not moved it.
Peak is easy to adjust, fair quality, wish the underside was coated in the clear coat.
Graphics are fantastic, the black/white has metallic flake gunmetal accents.
Heavy duty ratcheting quick-release strap.
No chin skirt.

Fitment:

Advertised as long oval, it is not. The top of the head is more intermediate oval. That means this helmet fits large. But, it's tight around the ears and cheeks, and wearing headphones or speakers can be uncomfortable.
I bought a Small, considering getting an XS liner to see if it makes the helmet fit my head better (I love that this helmet comes in the different shell sizes, I still look like a bobble head without shoulder pads, but it's much more manageable).

Riding:

Very noisy. Not aerodynamic - don't recommend for much over 60mph, it's possible, though. The peak catches wind like crazy at road speeds (30+mph).
The inner visor is very easy to activate and deactivate while riding with gloves and it is a very nice addition to a sunny day. Outer visor is damn near impossible to unlatch. The tab is on the front nose of the visor and the catch is very stiff and hard to pop. To latch it I've had to put a finger on the tab and my thumb on the bottom of the chin. It's not even necessary to latch it, though, it doesn't open.

Overall Pros:

Cheap. Goggle-compatible outer visor (yes it does close, no issues with goggles on, and actually because this is the shell from their dirt helmet goggles fit the back of the helmet fantastic).
Inner sun visor means you don't have to worry about carrying an extra visor. I live in Texas, with the inner visor down I could stare at the sun with no issues, it's a perfect dark-medium tint.
Lots of airflow.
Easy adjusting peak and visor mounts.
Wide vision. (The shape of the bottom of the visor does not affect visibility, no waving)
Light! (2 hours of riding in high winds never strained my skinny female neck)
Looks fantastic!

Overall Cons:

Cheap. Very loud!
Not aerodynamic at all
Lots of plastic
No visor detents, locking mechanism sucks.
Lots of ventilation, impossible to close off helmet from the elements.
Incorrect fitment and tight around the ears.

And my biggest complaint on this entire helmet...
The strap.
This was my first ratcheting quick-release helmet (sounds like a great option!). It is VERY uncomfortable. The hard plastic ratchet digs into your neck. Every day after I ride I either have a bruise or am sore to the touch. I couldn't even imagine having a larger man's neck or adam's apple. Seriously this thing sucks for comfort.
But...... it's absolutely great for getting the helmet on and off. I love the ease of use and it's good quality.

As a side note, because this helmet is so angular I was having issues figuring out where I could mount a GoPro. Happy to say there is a small flat surface next to the chin so I could do a chin mount!

This helmet is an outstanding starter helmet for the price.
I would suggest looking around for more expensive helmets on sale, though. I bought this helmet several months ago when it was about $10-$20 cheaper, then my fiancé got a different helmet reg.$200+ for ~$110. It doesn't look near as sharp, but it's a nicer build quality.

If I needed another cheap helmet, would buy again (after looking for better deals).

Great value
This is the 2nd LS2 helmet I own and I use it for dual sport riding and also for riding my ATV. So the nice part is that it has multiple purposes and at this price point it is hard to argue with value.

Pros: Design is sharp, goggle compatible, drop down visor, nice graphics.

Cons: I'd say the biggest issue I have had with this helmet is the cheek pads are tight and a bit bulky. Size-wise it seems spot on but again tight in the face. I'm in between long oval and round so perhaps this is where the issue comes in. If you are long oval I think the fit would be best but if you are closer to round then you will find this pretty snug even if the sizing it correct.

Wind noise was as I would expect for this style of helmet. The optical correctness of the lens I felt could have been a tad sharper. Air flow was also good however I did not ride in extreme heat with it yet but 50-70 degrees I found it very comfortable.

Overall for the price this helmet is great with nice features and I think after a few more rides and break in time it will be comfortable.

A unique dual sport helmet
I was wanting to replace my old motocross helmet I was using for ADV. I was tired of goggles mashing my sunglasses into my face, so a face shield was a must. This one was lighter, less wind drag & noise, wider vision, a quick release chin strap, & a great price. I really like the sunshield. This turned out to be one of my best buys in a long time.

Bang for the buck
Its a nice for the price equipment. Ventilation is less than I hoped for, especially reading other reviews. But the built in sun visor allows you ride with it open, which helps a lot. Very narrow, therefore I had to go one size up from the chart.

Installing a headset was also problematic, with limited space for boom and speaker placement.
