Nice Exhaust, less weight, great sound
2017 KLR650. I've got 200 miles on the exhaust now. It runs fine with the stock jetting. I did have a Uni air filter installed and got a few pops on decel...no big deal but I installed the OEM filter and got rid of the popping.

I have the KLX needle kit from Eagle Mike and will install this week. This will include putting the Uni back and pulling the snorkel. You do not need to change the jetting to use this exhaust, I just like to tinker.

I might try the short insert just for fun. The longer one which comes installed is great, nice thumper sound.
Note: there are four total inserts: Two long with a long tip and short tip.,. and two short inserts with a long tip and short. You use the short tip inserts if you install the spark arrestor.

So...you can run the quite insert (long) with the long tip (no arrestor), the quiet insert with short tip (includes the spark arrestor), the louder insert (short) with long tip (no arrestor) or the louder insert with the short tip (includes spark arrestor). Hope this helps.

And, you don't need to repack this exhaust.

BEST ANSWER: I have always read the system does not need to be repacked and repacking is not mentioned in the user manual from the manufacturer website. I think this is because it's a sealed system that cannot be opened, like an FMF exhaust.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, it does. I think every 10k-15k miles...That's according to the LV website.
