Leatt Dual Axis Knee Guards

The Leatt Dual Axis knee and shin guards are comfortable, well-ventilated protectors with two pivot points that allow them to more accurately bend with the knee’s natural movement. They cover the knee, even when fully bent, as well as the lower thigh and most of the lower legs. Great levels of impact protection are proven by the CE impact safety standard they are certified to. They are also certified to CE’s abrasion resistance safety standard. The strap buckles are low profile with no edges to hang up on your riding pants. Straps are also backed by soft, comfortable, vented airprene material that resists slipping. Lighter weight, comfortable and offers more freedom of movement than almost any other CE certified protection system.

Features:

  • 3 dimensionally designed for optimal fit
  • Impact tested  and CE certified to EN 1621-1
  • Abrasion tested and CE certified to EN 13595-2, Level 2
  • Anatomically correct dual pivot points
  • Light at only 1.9 pounds (850grams) per pair
  • Slim design for use over or under riding pants, fits well with boots
  • 9 large vents help keep you cool
  • Made from High Density Poly Ethylene, HDPE, and washable Leatt foam
  • Strap system resists binding

Affordable knee protection... been very good on my falls so far but wouldn't push it too far. Haven't tried Muay Thai knee kicks yet.

Needed protection of the knees for off road. Leatt is the best brand and Revzilla pricing beats them all.
Brian K on Mar 5, 2017
Glad I had these on during my low-side, my right leg/knee was totally protected and they're still in use. They're very comfortable and offer good air flow.

Never owned anything LEAT and always believed Leatt products to be overpriced! Heard good things about the Dual Axis Knee Guards and decided to find out for myself.

I tried a lot of knee guards. The Leatt Dual Axis feels the best to me. Need to make sure your boot is tall enough so you can insert the knee brace into the cuff. Almost looks and feels like the $600 orthodox knee braces. Great product. I wear mine year round now. Make sure you wear them with long knee high MX style socks for more comfort.
Kameran A on Sep 19, 2016
Pants are too expensive and this works just as well for knees.
Brandon P on Sep 17, 2016
Many have said it flexes enough WITHOUT SLIPPING - not slipping is an important criterion for me. Plus, it is explicitly stated to be CE EN6121-1 rated. A lot of manufacturers just say "CE Approved" without actually stating the exact rating - without which "CE Approved" means nothing, because it could be rated for skateboards or bicycles for all you know. Or even (heh heh) "China Export"

george r on Jun 29, 2016
These are crazy beefy. I rode without them first, so I definitely noticed them when I put them on. I very quickly forgot about them and I feel very protected in them. I usually have something on under them, but I have had them directly on my skin for hours on a hot day and they were fine.
Matthew J on Jun 27, 2016
For additional protection than the pads in my pants. I like them but they can be harsh on my skin with the additional pressure of the boots.
Danilo A on Jun 25, 2016
Many good reviews and just a great price.Im a new rider and need all the protection I can get.

Wanted knee protection, though I don't wear them often. :/
David D on Mar 14, 2016
I own a GP trail neckbrace made by Leatt and I love the protection and confidence it gives me when I ride. In my opinion Leatt is THE neck brace company, so I thought I'd give these shin/ knee guards a try. I currently use some $20 fox dirt biking shin guards, but I find myself constantly adjusting them when I ride.

Till Q on Feb 15, 2016
Decent reviews, nice size options, cool design, low-profile enough to go below pants if necessary, not incredibly over priced.
TR44 on Feb 8, 2016
Had a pair already and really liked the way the dual hinges keep the guards conformed to your knee over most of the knee's range of motion. Outstanding protection too. I originally bought the small/ medium size but the straps are too short so I have ordered the larger size.

Used often in motorcycle groups to designate wearing "all gear all the time" as in helmet, gloves, boots, jacket and so forth.

Harold T on Jan 16, 2016
After reading hundreds of reviews of all different styles and brands, this one seemed to have the best all round performance and comfort. We do a lot of long distance off road riding and I need something that will be comfortable for multiple all day riding.
Lawson on Jan 15, 2016
Picked this item because the price wasn't too high and also because of the good name that Leatt has.

BEST ANSWER: The latter is simply the newer version.
Can i wear this knee Guards under my relax fit jeans which are baggy Wrangler jeans?
A C on May 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don´t think they would fit under your jeans, once this guards are on they are a little bulky in riding position they are very comfortable but jeans don´t expand enough and may be a tight fit making them less comfortable, I wear them over regular jeans and they look awesome and very comfy
what kind of boots do you wear with these knee braces? I plan on buying Sidi adventure gore-tex boots, and i'm worried those boots will be too tall/ these knee braces too long, and they might interfere with each other.
brent b on Apr 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I wear MX boots with them, but the shin portion of the knee guard isn't very bulky. Unless your boots are really tight near the top I don't see it being much of an issue.
How are these sized? I can't find information anywhere on what size corresponds to the user.
A shopper on Mar 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: My measurements are below.

16" calf
22" above the knee.

The 2XL were to large. Mainly in the calf area.
The Lg/XL are good.
Any one use these on a sport bike?
Ian A on May 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: My Ktm has a large Acerbis tank with grip tape and my pants are FLY . I have seen some people do the crazy thing of wearing them on the outside of the pants. The have major problems and are unable to understand how they are designed to be worn! I have no problem at all!!!
Anyone tried these with Fox Comp 5 boots?
Marcus C on Jun 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I personally have not but owned them for years they are pretty low profile at the shin and made to tuck into boots especially mx boots shouldn't have a problem hope this helps.
