Works as advertised.
Fit seems relatively true to size. I'm in the lg/xl, at 5'10" 165, although I have pretty strong legs for my size. If you have the proverbial "chicken legs" the smaller size will probably be better.

Comfort is excellent under jeans / pants while riding or sitting, however they are a bit awkward while standing. They were clearly designed to be most comfortable while riding. Jeans tend to bunch up above the knee armour while standing.

Protection feels solid and is CE rated.

Paired with a good pair of riding shorts, they make a nice, casual alternative to wearing leather / textile pants. Wore these on a 300 mile day trip for 10 hours without taking them off. They felt great while riding, however you become more aware that you are wearing them once you get off.

User Friendly Knee Protection!
If protection is not comfortable it won't get worn! No problem here... as these knee pads are very lightweight, fit well, and are very comfortable. I can't imagine a better knee pad for the price!

Great knee guards
These are probably about as comfortable as a knee guard could be, and seem to offer excellent protection for their size and weight. The knee protection is substantial, and in fact sticks out farther than I thought they would, though that just means more protection. The breathable soft elastic behind the knee doesn't pinch, chaff or bind. In hot weather they will still make you sweat, but that is a function of the thick protection on the front. I am impressed with these guards by Leatt. If I had to offer any negatives: 1)It's a hassle to have to remove boots/shoes to put on/remove the pads each time, though that's part of the design, 2) for me, the elastic is tight at each end of the tube above and below the knee, but not at the knee area, so there is some movement there. I don't think it would rotate out of position in a crash, but not totally sure. Hopefully I will never find out. Velcro straps would fine tune the fit, but they are usually uncomfortable behind the knee.

Great pads for all activities
Well, to start off, I bought these in a local store so I could get the perfect size. I bought them for mountain biking as well. Leatt is well known in the biking community for specializing is their solid neck braces. A company that makes only protection, usually makes the best. I have no doubts that these will protect my bad knees while bike riding. I even have seen them worn in high production downhill videos. That says something when the pros and top ametuers are wearing your product.

I won't waste my time saying things that have already been said. These are great pads, for all activities, and I would feel completely protected using these for motorcycling. The fit on these is pretty much perfect. At first, they are a little bit tight to get on, but once you get them on and worn in for a bit, they are great. I'll be looking at Leatt for any future protection needs I may have.

How can something so tough be so comfortable?
I've been a skier for almost 40 years. Last season, I learned to snowboard at the behest of my 13 year old son. That first day was absolutely brutal. I wish I had knee guards that day. I realized that at 50, I bruise easier and don't bounce back quite as quickly as I did 20 years ago.
Now it's my boy's turn to learn to do something I love: riding motorcycles. Of course, that means dirt bikes. I ride mostly street, so we're both taking some off-road lessons this spring. I've got him all set with full protective gear but recalling my first season of snowboarding, I knew that if I was going to hit the trails (literally), I was going to need some better protection under my riding clothes, especially my knees.

I researched about a half dozen different knee guards and settled on either the Troy Lee T-Bones or the Leatt 3DF knee guards. The Troy Lees have had generally very good reviews and I found a pair of T-bones on sale on eBay, so I tried first. They are very rugged and tough, but also very stiff and uncomfortable, especially behind the knees. When I bent my knees the sleeve material would bind and pinch the skin.

Then I decided to try these Leatt 3DF guards, which have gotten almost universal praise from numerous reviewers. Revzilla was competitive with pricing and shipped them free and lightening fast, as always. The first thing that struck me was how hard, light and encompassing the knee cup is. It fully protects the front, top and sides of the patella and extends just far enough down to cover the soft tissue area between the patella and tibia. The sleeve is made of fairly thin, moisture-wicking elasticated material with a large opening behind the knee, which permits full range of motion without binding against the skin. There is only one strap above the knee but the inside of the top opening has silicone ribbing to assist keeping the guard in place. In short, they fit securely and are extremely comfortable, without super-tall socks or compression sleeves, to the point of being forgettable while in use.

I consulted the sizing chart on the Leatt web site before ordering and the fit was spot-on. If you are looking for knee guards, don't go cheap. Spend an extra $20 and get these Leatt knee guards. You'll be glad you did. They are worth every penny.

Very comfortable and worthwhile
The knee guards are soft and very comfortable to wear. They fit perfectly under jeans or riding pants and stay in place. I have worn them all day a few times and in 100 degree temps and they are fine. I am 6'1 205 lbs and according to the measure chart I am on the higher end of L/XL. They fit nice but I keep the Velcro strap at the end of its adjustment. I would go up if you are on the high end of the measurements. I have bought several other knee guards over the years looking for something comfortable and not too hot to wear. These will be my choice when riding and they are CE rated.

Comfortable, Good Protection
Very comfortable to wear against the skin. Lot's of protection to the front of the knee and top of shin. Wish it had a little more coverage around the side of the knee.

My research disclosed great comfort and a good. stable fit... along with good knee protection. Checked with Revzilla Customer Rep and he concurred and was helpful and knowledgeable... which is standard for Revzilla. Also, it was in a reasonable price range.

I bought these knee guards because of all the reviews I read of how comfortable they were. The reviews were correct! These are extremely comfortable knee guards. After a few minutes you don't even really notice you have them on. Very comfortable for all-day trail riding.

Can these be used for street riding?
Japjit S on Feb 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Sure, the knee guards could be used for street riding. Pants would need to be loose enough to accommodate. Very comfortable and very lightweight.
