All the gear, all the Klim
I didn't want to buy this jacket but I was told it was the only way to go for my purposes and I'm glad overall I did invest in it. Not only do I feel bullet-proof, I hardly feel like I am wearing a jacket.

I've only ridden in mild conditions at this point, no rain, from the mid-60s to the low 80s but I was comfortable in both the cool, the wind, and the heat. I'm surprised to find I actually like being able to layer with casual or technical clothes underneath versus getting a jacket that came with removable liners.

There are a good assortment of internal pockets and two good outside hand warming/ easy access pockets. There is also an emergency card they will send you for free to put in a special pocket on the sleeve. My card came about 2 weeks after I submitted the info on-line. The vents are low profile but they really do a great job.

I'm very glad they put shoulder gussets in. I can't imagine trying to maneuver in layers without them. The waist is so easy to cinch or loosen even with gloved hands. There are also cinches at the hip on the underside of the jacket.

My two gripes and why I gave a 4 for features are the cuffs and the zipper pulls. Number 1, the cuffs aren't wide enough. In bad weather I want to be able to tuck my gloves under my cuff. I wonder how long my hands will stay dry with rain running down into my winter gauntlets. Seems like it defeats the whole purpose of the Gore Tex. I'll let you know as soon as I go through a shower or two. A semi-elastic cuff or a zipper up the wrist would do much better or at least a wider cuff with adjustable velcro slide buckle.

Number 2, the zipper pulls are just bits of fabric knotted in the hole at the end of the zipper unlike the men's version which are beefy plastic toggles!!! Grrrrr. Remember I said the vents are very nicely low profile? The zippers disappear into the awesome seam that keeps water out and lets air in. Trying to grab hold of that zipper by a little piece of fabric in gloved hands at speed to open or close the chest vents creates the appearance of giving oneself a breast exam. Need to close the arm vents? It looks like you are very concerned with some lint on your arm or your pits itch. Forget about the side back vents, you'll just look like a monkey.

PROS: Fantastic wind and cold protection, great venting in the heat, very light yet feels protective, easy to adjust waist and hips, love the color scheme (not as bright as it looks), easy to layer what you want to wear underneath.

CONS: Cuffs lack flexibility, cheaped out on the zipper pulls.

Sizing: READ the guide and measure the way it says. I am 5'6" 150, dress size 6-8. I bought a Medium and fit is fine both layered and unaltered.

P.s. My ride is no longer a Yam FZ6R but a Triumph Tiger XRx. :)

Still needs MORE
I own the 1st gen and now this one too. The new Altitude I feel is made for a real girly figure and even leaning towards the sport bike and cruiser folks. They got rid of the side hip gators which I felt was a plus on the older version. The collar is improved but still in diameter a bit small to use a heated liner zipped up comfortably. I wish they made it a 2 size closure. The arm cuffs are narrow and really difficult to get gloves underneath.

You are right about the weight but I think this is what other companies do. Compared to guy suits I always feel women suits use less of quality of material. Using the flex material in the shoulders is an improvement from last version. Does not feel as tight around the chest so for those with boobs should be more comfortable. The pants have zero pockets now. Which is too bad. Last model the pockets fit a credit card but now there isn't anything for us gals to use. I would have liked to see a cargo pocket. I can only think that Klim is reaching out to other riders than ADV bike riders. More stream lined or tailored look. I didn't mind the loser feel of the pants since I ride standing and it's physical. I liked how the last version fit better but like how Klim tweaked the crotch. I can't stress enough that women need and want pant pockets.

So all in all this is classic Klim. Slight improvements and some disappointments for me. Having said what I have said..I know they will keep making changes and this is for me my go to suit because of the Gore Tex shell protection. I have never been a fan of liners period...however it would be nice to have more than one women's suit to choose from since I believe Klim is trying to be appealing to many different style riders with one suit. I ride dual sport...and will also use my Klim Latitude suit because of the pockets and fit as well. I think Lindsay should be wearing an 8 if she wants to use a base liner.

Last version the pants ran larger than real life I felt and this version the pants I think run a bit smaller because of the tailored fit. In the end motorcycle gear for adventure riders doesn't have to fit like regular clothes. It should move with the rider and fit as though you don't even feel it. IMHO. ;-) Great video.?

Does this jacket run small/large/true to size? In brand-name clothing, I wear a Small or Size 4-6...?
