Held up in a crash
Dropped my supermoto at 30mph in a rough spot on the street. Slid about 10 feet and had no damage to my lower body. The friction burned a few holes in the left thigh. Nothing went all the way through and the pants are still usable. The fit is right on the money. The adjustable straps on the waist give you about an inch in or out. Allows a good amount of air flow to cool your lower body at speeds. Fits well over my motocross boots.

The new fit works for women
I like the quality & durability of KLIM products but have found the shape & sizing a bit difficult to work around in the past. (Odd waist:hip sizing) This new combination of shape and stretch material placement makes for the best fitting pants I've worn in years. I saw lady friends of all sizes wearing these and loving the fit and airflow, so I got a pair. Happy day!

I'm 5'10, 145 & wear size 8, and bought the 30 tall. I typically need a bare minimum 34" inseam to cover 12" boots and these don't quite get there in length, but aren't like some "talls" that are a whopping 31". (My pet peeve on women's motorcycle pants.) No gap with off-road boots, and I don't look like I'm wearing capris or in-the-boot pants on the outside!

There is ample room for the D3O hip and knee armor I inserted, and the pocket placement works perfectly for me. The rise is not too long in front and has extra height in the back for good coverage in the riding position. The inner thigh area is well vented with external pockets on the side that don't block airflow to your lap.

The pockets fit my Note 2 phone in a zip lock bag with an inch to spare. The adjustable leg openings make it easy to deal with boots & knee guards for dual sport use. They did their research for these pants!

The downside? No Zilla cash on KLIM purchases!

Great Pants - crash tested!
Love these pants. They vent well but also feel very sturdy.

Low sided off road in them and you can't even tell. The only thing that would be nice is some built in hip protection. I had Knee and Shin guards underneath so no problems there.

I got them completely covered in mud and a quick run through the wash brought them back new.

get em.

Leatt 5.5 GPX 1 Klim Mojave 0
I bought the Leatt 5.5 GPX and the Mojave at the same time. I returned the Klim and kept the Leatt. I felt like the Michelin dough boy in the Klim. It is so bulky, it has cloth accordion hinges built in. I wanted pants that would properly fit with knee braces which they both do. But the quality, workmanship, fit and comfort of the Leatt is far superior. I'm doing 3,200 miles of the Trans America Trail. I need something that is comfortable, cool and durable. These have a small mesh area up front and a bit on the back and may work traveling at high speed but standing still, struggling off the bike or slow work would be a killer in them.

They weigh 2 lbs 11.9 oz , the Leatt in the boot weigh 1 lb 9 oz

Cool & comfy
Good air flow above the knees, Velcro adjustments at the waist ensure a comfortable and snug fit. Large thigh pockets are handy. Great summer pants

Great pants - issue with armor
These pants are a great weight for hot weather riding, well constructed with reinforcement where needed. There are major issues - the positioning of the armor pockets and size of the armor. I am 5' 8" and the top of the knee armor pocket is positioned well below my knees, and the Klim knee armor itself is IMO small. I have bought the larger Aerostich knee armor with its own pockets that I plan to sew inside my Mojave pants. I have seen multiple posts about the armor pocket positioning, please Klim can you sort this out!!!

This product runs small compared to my last pair of KLIM riding pants
i have two different pairs of KLIM riding pants. Both 32 Waist. These are tighter in the waist even when adjusted out completely. I would go to the larger waist next time. Otherwise I am totally satisfied in every respect.

Another vote for women in Mojave's
Another woman here. 5'7", 150 lbs, curvy. The 30 regular fits pretty well. When I'm 145 they have a little more space in the zipper, but don't all my pants... With Leatt GPS 5.5 air flex short and the Leatt Dual Axis knee guards underneath they are still comfortable and practical. The Rev-it Airwave pants for women looked better without protection, but with it they really did not fit around knees and the Mojaves had way nicer openings to get boots on, more space in legs, nicer pockets, better ventilation, much better design generally, and frankly looked better too. I'm riding a Honda TW200 on trails and rough roads, lots of standing. Pants that are tight in the leg and butt just don't work.

Very nice set of warm weather pants
Bought a pair of these about two months back for city riding and the occasional off-road jaunt and have been very happy with them. They're lightweight, and provide an exceptional amount of airflow with nice stretch around the groin area and seat. They're also far more forgiving of my large thighs than something like the Rev'it Airwave (which are much tighter in the legs), and the Size 36 works well for me (5'8, 195 lb, 35 inch waist) although they're a bit too long in the leg (fixed when I put on my boots).

I have some (hopefully unfounded) concerns about how they'd perform on a higher speed pavement crash, but address this by primarily using them around the city where speeds rarely top 30-40 mph (they're billed as off-road pants anyway). It would be nice if hip and knee pads were included for the price (the D3O gear I installed was another $70 on top of the price of the pants), and I wish there was a pocket for a tailbone protector. That said, I can also see how more dedicated off road users might just use strap-on knee/shin guards under the pant and not use the pad pockets (which can be prone to moving out of place at times). All in all, however, they're very good for what I use them for and certainly I'd recommend them.

Great hot weather pants for 6' 5" rider
I have the grey tall version of these pants. The 36" waist fits my 210lb body just perfect. The pant legs are very large and the pant bottoms will go over any boots, even my large Tech 8's motocross boots. The light color helps with the heat.

The airflow is great and the pants go over my Leatt Dual Axis knee guards just fine. The pants seem heavy duty and well constructed.

At first I tried the armor pocket and got the 3DO pads. The problem is (a) the pocket is too low and the armor is at your shin and (b) the pant legs are so huge they wouldn't stay in place in a crash anyway. Knee guards are a better way to go.

What hip pads and knee pads can be used in the Men's Mojave pants?
Charles G on May 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have the generic D30 T5 pads in the knees & hips. The hip pads move around a bit, but not once I'm seated. I love these pants & just bought a second pair. I'm thinking of getting another set of pads so I don't have to switch them out.
Which version of D30 pads were these pants designed for?
i.e. will the "Xergo" or "T5 EVO PRO XT" pads fit anywhere?
Michael R on Apr 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I put the T5s into mine and they work perfectly
Hi, I wear a substantial knee guard. ( Acerbis X strong) Would there be sufficient knee room in either the Dakar or Mojave pants to facilitate the guard. ?

Cheers Paul.
Paul H on Mar 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes but my experience was that the knee pocket was sewn a little bit too low. I had to put an artificial hem in mine to keep my pads up by my patella.
Are these made to wear over pants?
Floyd B on Nov 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Short answer: No.
Longer answer: They work great over compression shorts, long johns or tights, or even lightweight stretchy climbing shorts. But they are not overpants.
Is there a rain liner included with these pants?
Darcy M on Sep 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, rain liner included.
Are this pants “tall” by default? I can’t see any option while selecting the size
A shopper on Apr 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Slightly tall for me. Seated on the bike the cuff just touches my Arch. But when standing they are hanging down by my heel. I can live with it but would have preferred one to two inch shorter. However that material is really strong and attempting to sew it looked like too much work.
Would these be good for onroad use with armour upgrade?
A shopper on Jul 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have the Kllim hip and knee armour with my Mojave pants. These are definitely geared towards casual offroad riding. I would say the knee and hip pads provide some fairly minimal impact resistance for offroading and onroad for that matter. Realistically for really good protection offroad, nothing beats a good pair of knee braces. Great air flow! Very comfortable. Very durable. But I would say fairly minimal road protection even with the pads. The fabric should hold up to a short slide on the asphalt and provide limited impact resistance. They aren't as good as racing leathers. But, they're better than blue jeans with no armour. I ride dual-sport motorcycles so I'm on the road half the time. I definitely feel a little safer when I'm wearing these. Hope that helps.
Do these have knee hip armour?
A shopper on Aug 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, They do not come with the knee, or hip armor. You have to buy these as an options. There are built-in pocket inserts for them in the pants.
