Waited for this version to pull the trigger
When I saw that Klim had planned an updated version of the latitude, I decided to muddle through the springs with my old and leaky gear and trust myself to last in new tech.

Pros - armor, which I normally remove (sorry) is so comfortable that there is no reason ride naked again. Fit is outstanding and the weight is a welcome relief for the heavy corder jackets hanging in the closet. I do wonder if I am giving up a significant level of abrasion resistance - and hope I never find out!

Cons - I had high hopes for the new ventilation arrangement, but have found the jacket only average on this dimension. I use a smaller screen form most riding situations, and evidently the areas of the jacket with vents are all protected from the airflow. My old Scorpion Commander did a much better job, and cost half as much! too bad it also leaked air through the zippers and just about everywhere else. I can not imagine wearing this jacket much over 70 - 80 and sunny was unbearable. the up-facing black surfaces didn't make things any better....

I love the idea that I can now leave my gore tex rain jacket at home, and that the comfort of the amor and overall fit and finish of this jacket will last me a very long time. all the little details are very well thought out, and you really notice them after stepping up from decent mid-priced gear like the Commander. Despite the venting issue, i would highly recommend this new Latitude to anyone who has the inclination and the budget to the next level.

Excellent all-weather jacket
This is the first Klim jacket I have owned. My other jackets are a Rev'it Vapor and a Rev'it Sand 2 (high-vis). Regarding quality, the Klim is far better than the Sand 2 and slightly better than the Vapor.

My motivation for purchasing the Latitude was to have a jacket that was comfortable to wear, offered good protection, had an effective high-vis pattern, was waterproof, and could be used in a layering system to help with various climate needs. I have found the Latitude to be excellent in all of these criteria with the only caveat being the warmest weather I have ridden in so far was 82F. A better hot weather test would be to wear it in 90F+ temps.

I just finished a 2-day fall color trip of 600 miles and the jacket performed flawlessly. Fall temps ranged from 39F to 62F and with a base layer and heated jacket, I was comfortable throughout the range. This is a fantastic jacket in all respects!

Top quality and protection
I bought this jacket to ride in 3 season weather and not have the hassle of a rain suit and after 6,000 miles on it, I've made the right purchase. The jacket vents well with all 5 vents open, even the back vent manages to get air around the armor. Further cooling can be had by expanding the waistline with the built in zippers. Speaking of zippers (and there's a lot of them), since they are waterproof, they are quite hard to pull and each one requires a couple hands to straighten so stopping is necessary when the rain hits. I had a sewn zipper pull tear on me because they pull so hard, but Klim acknowledged there was an issue with them and promptly send me 14 DIY zipper pull replacements (yeah, 14).

I've ridden for hours in downpours and the only place water would penetrate was the neck, but it was minimal.

One other note on the Hi VIZ yellow, it starts to fade within the first month, but I'm told that is normal.

Love this jacket.

Fantastic Quality!
The materials and craftsmanship of this product are incredible! I was looking for a high visibility jacket I could wear for the colder months instead of my mesh jacket with zip in liner's. I have been using this for about a month now in temperatures ranging from the mid-20s to upper 50s. This high-quality shell offers me the flexibility to use different layers underneath to include a down jacket or other synthetic insulation. All the adjustments allow me to fine-tune this jacket based on what I have on underneath. I have not been able to test it in the rain but I'm certain it will do it's job very well given the construction. One of my other priorities was having plenty of accessible pockets and this has a total of 11! None of them are huge but it does offer a lot of storage. The built in armor is also a major plus and is extremely comfortable.
I have not had the opportunity to try out the zippered ventilation system yet. It seems like it should work well, but I don't anticipate using this black jacket in the high summer temperatures and the beating sunlight. I will try to wear this as long as I can into the warmer temperatures, because it is so comfortable and the visibility is superb!
I realize this is not an inexpensive jacket but it certainly appears to be worth every dollar and then some. This jacket also looks fantastic!
I could not be more pleased with my overall purchase experience with the brand and also Revzilla!

Super Jacket
I live in southern California where the need for a true winter jacket doesn't exist. So I went for a 4 season jacket and this Klim really was a great find. With the Gore-Tex exterior it clearly provides a completely waterproof (and windproof) layer which alone provides some warmth for those days in the 60s. And with a warmer layer underneath (which you provide) it can keep you warm even down in the 40s. I realize this may be not nearly enough for those who live where it really gets cold, but it's perfect for the weather in which I ride. The Klim fits well and has plenty of pockets and great features. I have a mesh jacket for the hot weather, I do not believe the Latitude would work well when it's in the 80s upper or above. But for me, it's perfect for late Fall and Winter.

As described
This is my first klim purchase. I was a little hesitant due to cost of course but buying through revzilla I knew I could send it back if not satisfied. I'm satisfied. The jacket is as described if not better. Protection, venting, construction and looks are all excellent. Looking forward to wearing it for years to come.

Latitude Jacket, Smart purchase
I was very hesitant about spending so much on a jacket but when it comes to protection I guess no price is too high. Still, it's hard to part with the money if you think there are other products that will do the same. I bought one jacket that was in the $200 area and sent it back due to fit and overall poor quality. After seeing the Klim gear in person at a local dealer I was able to see the features of the Badlands and the Latitude. I felt the Latitude was just what I needed. Street riding/touring. I bought the Latitude pants too but I'm just reviewing the jacket. The jacket is perfect. I actually really love wearing it. The vents really work well and the pockets are right where I want them. I wear a fleece liner in the under 40f temps and am completely comfortable for hours. I haven't had it out in the rain yet but I have been in heavy wind and it's very good. The protection it provides gives me the confidence when I ride. I would definitely buy this again.

Great All Around Jacket
I live in FL and wear this year round. Can get warm in the summer when stopped. But has better air flow than my mesh jacket (alpine). I have also used it when riding all around England, and it kept me warm. I have the Hi - Vis and wish it had a bit less yellow on the back. Tons of storage wich was great when traveling and making stops in towns and not having to dig into panniers. Also snugs in well when traveling at high speeds on the highway. Excellent Waterproofing!

Great jacket
Just recieved my Latitude and couldn't be happier with the purchase. I did a lot of shopping for the best jacket to cover all situations and this one looks like it for me.

The high Vis color styling looks great without being too much like a traffic cop. The material is bombproof, maybe a little crunchy but should break in.

Super comfortable, adjustable and well designed. An investment in comfort and safety.

I'm 5'11 155lbs, slim and went with medium. Fits well without an under layer but still have room for layers.

Great in all weather
i bought this to replace jacket that was leaking. I was heading out cross country on Route 66 and wanted something that could deal with all conditions. This jacket hit the mark. From 50 degree rain to 108 in the desert I was dry and comfortable. With all the vents open I was cool enough riding, but no jacket is going to be cool when you stop.
I commute all year, so it was finally time to spend the extra money and go gortex.
At first I thought I wouldn't like the pockets as I'm used to cargo pockets on the front, but I actually like this layout better than my previous Kilimanjaro that the pockets were barely big enough for my phone.
I had previously bought the Previous version of the badlands pants and love them as well. I'm definitely a big Klim fan now.

what do you do in cold temps? Is the jacket sufficiently warm, or do you layer up?
Bryan V on Sep 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This jacket is not suitable for cold weather unless you layer up. It's a terrific jacket, but by itself is probably only good to temps into the lower 60s. Below that you need to add layers for warmth, but this jacket will work well when used properly. I really like the jacket.
