Overall disappointing
I decided to buy this jacket after reading many positive reviews online. I live in Perth, Western Australia and was looking for a versatile jacket that would be comfortable to wear during all seasons except summer. It can get very hot here so I have an excellent air mesh jacket for summer riding. The service and delivery was first class.
The Atomic 5 jacket is promoted as being waterproof when it simply is not! The shoulders and sleeves allow water to enter during light/medium rainfall which I regard as very poor performance. I'd like to add that a friend who personally recommended this jacket to me has since experienced the same problem, so mine is not a 'one off'.
The jacket otherwise is good, especially the ventilation and overall design. But that's not good enough, a jacket reported to be waterproof should be just that, if it is only able to withstand light showers it should be advertised as such!
I'm not going to waste my time and money returning the jacket but hope this review will help others who are not just 'fair weather' riders to decide if the Atomic 5 is for them.
Regards,
Gary Aulsebrook.

GREAT Jacket!
First I ordered the jacket on Sunday morning and got the jacket Monday afternoon. Can't beat Revzilla!

Left Thursday for Bike Week. About 600 miles each way. Took liner out by mid morning, performed great. Of course t-shirt weather at Bike Week, but jacket was great in the evening.

Left Bike Week on Sunday, went through 2 hours of pouring rain and the jacket kept me dry.

I'm 6'2" 300 pounds, bought a 4X and it fits great. Lots of adjustments and the front vents worked great.

Very nice - 4+ stars
I really didn't want to give this 4 stars, but it's not quite a 5. I'd say 4.5 stars. Let's start by saying that I LOVE this jacket. It has all of the features that I wanted at a very nice price point. The fit is comfortable and the venting is good. The liner is easy to remove and install. Lately, I've been riding 35 miles to work in Upstate NY morning temps in the low 50s and it's been great. I'm riding a V Star 950 and have no windshield. I tend to be more on the hot side but have noticed my chest being a little cooler in this riding - mainly along the zipper line. Of course I wouldn't expect the same complete warmth there, as the liner doesn't overlap that area. It's not a problem and I'm fine with it, but just be aware. I'm 6/1, 240 with broad shoulders. I went with a 2XL. Was thinking that maybe I could do a XL if the gut was to come down a little bit. So after purchasing this one, I tried an XL on at a local shop and found that even if my gut was down, the XL would still be too small in the shoulders/chest area. Regardless of the gut fluctuations, I always end up being measured for a 48L sport coat anyways, so the fit on this does line up well to the sizing chart.

A couple of things that keep it from being 5 stars:
1: I find that the arm zipper vents are not easy to close on the fly when riding. To open they zip downward and they are easily opened. However, when tying to close pulling upward, the zippers tend to get stuck by the coats natural "puckers". So you may get it zipped part way, but not easily all the way. And if you pull too hard, then you risk pulling the sleeves up with it and perhaps exposing more skin at the wrist than you'd like when riding in colder weather.

2: It's advertised as waterproof (not water resistant). I got caught in some moderate rain for about 20 minutes (the heaviest being about 5-10 minutes) and my shirt got wet. I did not have the insulated liner in, so not sure if that contributes to the "waterproof" effect. Perhaps I didn't quite have the inner flap and outer zipper up the full distance and that is where the rain found it's entry. So I hate to fully claim that it's not waterproof as stated. Nonetheless, it did repel much of the rain.

Overall, I'm very pleased. None of the cons would prevent me from purchasing this jacket again. My only real suggested improvement would be the sleeve zipper vents. I waxed and waned over this purchase too long because I didn't want to overspend. This was initially the jacket that I wanted; I should have just rolled with it from the outset instead of spending so much time looking at others. Get it - you wont' regret it! I love it!

Can't go wrong
Looks good, check. Fits good, check. Good protection, check. Purchased the all black one and it matches my Kawi perfect. Once the weather warmed up I removed the inner liner and it's not bad at all during the heat. Best part is, I ordered it Wednesday morning and received it Thursday afternoon, with free shipping.

Excellent jacket.....disappointing results
This really is a great jacket. It has a sport fit, great ventilation, all around great features and functionality.....and for the money is an absolute steal. I've ridden in it in very cold weather all the way to high 80s with a lot of humidity. I was comfortable in all temp ranges.

However...yesterday, I could not get the exhaust vents to unzip. They did not appear to have any fabric caught in them, they were just stuck closed. No amount of tugging would unzip them and the zipper garages made it very hard to get a good grip on them. Ultimately, one of the zippers came clean off and now that exhaust vent is permanently stuck closed. It really bummed me out because now this jacket is going to be useless once the hot weather starts (Texas). I'm hoping the warranty will cover this.

Holy Hi Vis Yellow
I just got my jacket today in hi vis yellow, its a lot brighter than the pictures on the site. If you cant see me coming or going now , your just not looking.
Im 6ft , 180 lbs wide shoulders and the Large i bought fits tight, but its made to fit tight in my opinion. It feels good.
I ride in all black and although it looks all stealthy and cool... nobody can see me, ive been squeezed way to many times and almost hit several times.
I hope this jacket gives me a better chance to be seen, but man is it bright!

good buy, smart buy,

Good looks, good protection, and it fits!
I'm 5'10", 125lbs. Finding a jacket that fits me properly is a chore. Much to my surprise, this jacket hits all the right marks for me. The sleeves are long enough, the body has that tailored fit that hugs my slim frame, and it's long enough where I don't feel the need to keep pulling it down to keep anyone behind me from seeing my back. The armor feels solid, but is unnoticeable while riding. I recently wore this out on a hot day (105 F) and it was remarkably comfortable with all the vents open. I've been very impressed. Money well spent!

Great waterproof protection
I got this as my first riding jacket when I started riding in April of 2016. It was still regularly chilly because Indiana weather is unpredictable, but this jacket, especially with the removable thermal liner, was superb at keeping me warm. The ventilation is not great with the liner in, but that's sort of the point -- keep the cold out. However, once you remove the liner and open up all the air flow zippers, the ventilation is GOOD for being waterproof, but it just gets too hot in anything about 80 deg and sunny. This jacket was not made for that temperature, so it's nothing against the jacket. I can attest to this jacket's waterproofness having worn it in a torrential downpour.

The CE-approved armor in the elbows and shoulders seems sturdy and the pockets they're in keep them from moving at all. This is going to be great if I ever am wearing this jacket in a crash, but it also can make the jacket a little uncomfortable at first.

Behold, the Joe Rocket Atomic 5.0 holds up to the great name of Joe Rocket, sating my every need for an excellent sportbike waterproof warm jacket, and, lo, it shall be ready when the weather comes. Brace yourselves.

Found one that Fits
I purchased this jacket since its one of the few jackets who fits a big guy like myself. The jacket itself looks good in terms of styling and the ventilation you get from the vents is great. I had been looking for a jacket to fit me for a while and Joe Rocket definitely helped me out with this option. I did have a mishap that Eric from the Revzilla team was brilliant with guiding me through. my zipper got stuck while I was out riding and in the process of undoing the zipper two teeth from the zipper broke off. I had my replacement jacket in less than a week including the time it took to ship the damaged jacket back for inspection over memorial day weekend. I took advantage and actually went down a size since the jacket fit a little bigger/more loose then I anticipated. I would absolutely recommend the atomic 5.0 to anybody that's any size. Bang for your buck indeed.

Great product for the price
This jacket is really comfortable, it stops wind and rain like it should and let pass the wind if you open the front and rear vents zipper to keep you warm in hot temperature. The jacket have protection for your elbow, shoulder and lower back. The fabric is made of Hitena, a kind of super tenacious fabric which is highly resistant to abrasion and have a super durability for rugged use.

My only little concern was about the look. I bought the orange one because I own a KTM motorcycle which is orange and black, but the orange of this jacket looks more like a safety vest orange. It's great if you want some visibility.
