Great looks but...
Purchased this jacket not too long ago because I really liked the styling of the jacket, and thought it provided a good amount of protection.

First couple weeks: Loved the jacket. I'm generally a warmer person and wasn't overly hot or too cold; the right amount of airflow for my body. Loved the looks and comfort.

Unfortunately, I had to test out the protection side of this jacket and I was a little disappointed. The stretch panel by the wrists was completely obliterated from a slow (15-20ish mph) lowside. Even the "stronger" material on the arm ripped fairly easily and the "abrasion resistant" material showed signs of a struggle. I expected more abrasion resistance from a jacket of this quality.

All in all, it's a sweet looking jacket, but you're sacrificing some protection. A lot of the reviewers on here haven't had to test out the actual durability of this jacket, and I'm sure that if i hadn't either I'd still be saying only great things.

Great commuter
I bought this jacket for cooler temps and more of a spring and fall commuter jacket. The jacket is great for wind breaking and not allowing the wind to blow right through the jacket. I found I can get away with just a long sleeve shirt under this jacket compared to a textile that flows a lot of air that I need to wear a hoody with. My only real complaint with the jacket is when it's zipped up all the way it's a bit strange and tight around the neck. However, I do not believe the jacket is meant to be zipped all the way up just as the video on here shows. All in all I'm happy with the jacket, an added plus is the d3o armor and not just simple foam pads. Sizing is a bit strange for me as I'm 6'4 with a slender build at 240lbs. Standard xl was a tight fit, but this jacket isn't made to be worn tight, the 2xl is what fit the best as in all icon gear I have. A little baggy in the stomach area when sitting on the bike, but when you're a freak of nature, you take what you can get. Thumbs up good jacket, I'd recommend it for commuting, definitely not a track or go fast and be stupid jacket.

Love this jacket. Style comfort and protection all in one.
I would buy this jacket over and over again if I needed. It's comfortable and easy to move around in. D3O armor in a comfortable jacket. Only downside is the venting. I would love to wear this thing in the summer with more air flow. Fitment for me is great. I'm 6'3" and I weigh 280 lbs. I fit in a 2XL perfectly. Photos will be included.

Great style
I bought this jacket because I love the style, I am not a fan of the tight fit motorcycle jackets. This jacket from Icon really is one of a kind. I wish there was more like it.
I do feel like it would be a jacket that if you went down once you would have to get a new one. I am 5' 10'' and 150 lbs I got The medium, I do wonder if I should have got The small. The airflow on this is okay, I was sweating like a pig wearing it on a hot day. The underarm vents don't really catch air. My only complaint with this jacket is how the hood is supposed to be compressed, if you can not compress it right it messes the collar up. A zipper should have been added into the collar to hide the hood or at least a zipper to remove the hood. I had issues with the hood catching serious air at highway speeds. But in the city and speeds below 70 I didn't have a problem.
Hope to see a v2 of this jacket with a few more features and vents

Great jacket
Let me start by saying this jacket was a Xmas gift from my parents since I had just gotten my first bike at the ripe old age of 29. I love this jacket, the bright green has always been my favorite color even though I don't ride a KAWI. The jacket fits a little snug for me but it just means I have a goal to reach. It breaths like a dream but not too much, when I ride to work outside sometimes it's pushing 40 degrees and I stay pretty warm the only thing freezing is my hands (different review later).

My only issues with the jacket is the hood is not removable and if you want to wrap it and fold it up there is a stiff rubber in the peak of the hood that makes it look like a wing type of thing which is kind of odd. Also, the velcro on my gloves seems to catch on everything and it Makes it seem like it's fraying.

ON A SMALL SIDE NOTE: the money paw thumb loops are super stretched out pre usage, not. Sure if this is a normal thing or just a factory defect

Exactly what I was looking for
Here in PA, autumn and spring usually bring cool mornings (around 40F-50F) and warm afternoons (60F-90F), so I wanted a jacket that could handle the temperature shift for my 1+ hour commute. My leather jacket, while wearing a hoodie underneath, is too warm in the afternoons and the neckline was to short so the wind would freeze my neck and chest and thus be too cold in the mornings. This lead me to wear a lot of layers in the mornings and then carry all of that excess in my backpack on the way home. I wanted to shed some baggage.

I, originally, was looking at the Cycelgear Strength and Steel black'd out hoodie, but since there's almost no info out there about it, I wasn't willing to pull the trigger and kept looking. As always, Revzilla has the solution and I found this, and though a few dollars more, I'm so glad I held off on the other jacket. The Team Merc jacket is absolutely up for the task, and has more features.

The high (soft) collar keeps your neck warm and the material on the rest of the jacket blocks out the wind nicely. During last autumn, I rode in the mornings at 49F and, with only a t-shirt underneath, I was completely comfortable. This thing is also loaded with pockets for MP3 players, keys, hats or other items you might want to bring along. And if the cold is attacking the back of your neck, the hood rolls up to cover it.

Because it performed so well in the chilly morning though, it suffers a bit in the warm afternoon, there is not much airflow to the jacket when fully zipped up. And though it has pit zips, they don't let a lot of air flow. So for summer days, it's not exactly ideal. It'll do the job, sure, but other jackets will be more comfortable for the trip.

The armor is great, and adds quite a bit of value to the jacket. I also like that it comes with a back protector. And while it's not a knock against the jacket, I do wish the D30 armor was longer in the elbow area. I'm used to my Dianese jacket where my elbow and most of my forearm is covered.

The sizing was spot on and the jacket fits great. I was having an issue of the original placement of the armor as it wasn't fitting right for my elbows (again, issue with the armor just being a tad too small for my liking), but a quick adjustment and they now sit exactly where they should perfectly.

If I had any negatives to say it would be the styling of the jacket itself. I'm not a fan of the "rolling billboard" look, and all my gear up until this point has been muted/stealth. While this certainly isn't as bad as some, it's still a bit "louder" than I'd prefer.

It's a minor gripe though, and so far this jacket has completely lived up to my expectations and hopes.

Great all around jacket!!
Let me start by saying this is a great jacket. It is extremely comfortable, it looks awesome and I still feel like I would be protected in a low speed crash. It's probably not a great highway/high speed jacket but thats ok. It cuts wind amazingly well on those cooler days. I have ridden on 80 degree days with this jacket with the vents open and it does pretty well. I don't think I would want to ride on 90+ degree days though. I am 5'10, 175lbs and a Large fit me great. All in all I absolutely love this jacket and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a good commuter/around town jacket!

Great jacket
Got this jacket for the cooler months and so far its doing the job. Feels like once it breaks in it will fit perfect but as of now its a little snug while on the bike. Im 6'0 195lbs i got XL. My only complaint is its a tight fit around the neck when zipped up all the way, on the highway it chokes quit a bit. . But other than that the jacket is great and the quality is better than the pictures show! Revzilla was awsome like always,i ordered early Monday morning and my jacket was her Tuesday evening.

Good material but Pads slide around.
Ordered this as my first riding jacket. Im 6'0'' and 125lbs. (pretty skinny) The jacket has a great design and was great for temps from 40 degrees - 70 degrees, but it fit VERY wide on me. Definitely not for anyone thats not fit/thin. My biggest complaint though, was that the D3O armor slid around in their pockets, Not even covering the areas they should! I ended up returning mine and getting an Alpinestars T-GP Plus Air. (MUCH BETTER IMO)
I wish the pads had pockets that prevented sliding around and that it fit slimmer. Overall I have to say I did not feel like the armor would have done anything if i were to wreck.
