Not for me, but nice overpants
Pants have a great stretch material, seem well made. I normally am a 36 or 38 depending on the Levis cut, but mostly a 38 waist and 32 Inseam. First tried the black 2XL (36-38) they fit and were adjustable but seemed too baggy. So went for the XL (34-36) they were tighter and better fit but still very baggy through out the legs compared to my Alpinestar Airwave pants in a 2XL, which are tight but fit through the legs. Pants seem well constructed, no front pockets is kind of annoying mostly as an adjustment point, even the XL would need a belt to wear these off the bike. Liked the stretch material and the zippers, easy on easy off. FYI, material from the tag: 80% Polyester, 3% Polyurethane, 16% Kevlar, 1% Leather. Liner is 100% Polyester.

Great overpants, too hot for summer riding
These are my first overpants. I originally intended to buy riding jeans, but I'd rather have protection I can zip off when I arrive at my destination. I bought the denim color overpants and they could fool you from 5 feet away! There aren't any front pockets, which is something that takes getting used to, but there are still rear pockets which work great. My only gripe about these pants are that they are not warm weather overpants. The review video says that you can zip up the leg seam and get some airflow that way. A few problems with this statement: first, the zippers are on the inside of your legs, which aren't exposed to airflow when on the bike. Second, you need both an entryway and an exit for proper airflow, otherwise you won't get that crossflow cooling effect that you need to cool you down. These are great pants overall, but without proper ventilation, I can only give them four stars and recommend against riding with them in 85 degree weather.

Limited hip and skid protection, but otherwise fits great for regular commuting
What I like:
-Fits great, without too much extra bulk on top of jeans for overpants (ordered size M and I'm a 33 waist size and it was loose enough even with jeans on)
-The "blue" one which is a dark shiny grey color and looks cool
-Zippers on the side make it really easy to get ventilation too
-Knee protection is long and comfortable to keep on for long periods, this was nicely done

What I don't like:
-Thin material even lighter than non-riding jeans, which I'm pretty sure will not last a fall with a skid...even though it does say it has some Kevlar in it
-Hip protection is a joke (about the size of my fist and do not even cover my full hip on the sides ---I now have to buy something else to get full hip protection)

Oh, for shipping to Canada ---don't do it. Had to pay an 18% "import" charge in addition to our regular tax cost of 13%. That hurt me an extra $90 USD to get these pants.

Nice overpants
I normally wear a size 34 in jeans and so I ordered the UX pants in Large. These fit great over my jeans and it has plenty of room for further adjustments. Probably could have gone down to a Medium without an issue. They are baggy but I expected that since these are overpants. The full length zips make getting in and out of them very easy and they fit over my Alpinestars SMX-plus boots. The included D30 armor is nice but I upgraded the knee armor with Forcefield Net knee replacement armor because I wanted more coverage and CE Level 2 protection.

Overall, it was the denim look, style and included armor that sold me and the rest of the features were bonus.

Nice Pants
The Raiden UX pants were delivered to my home while I was on a business trip. I was quite excited, so the day I got home I tried them (I also bought the jacket) on and they fit very well! I'm shorter so I had to move the knee pads. Very simple, easy to remove if/when necessary. With too much jet-lag I decided to wait until the next day to go for a ride and test them out. And overnight we got 4 inches of snow. I'm still waiting for dry pavement to give a thorough test. But they are quite comfy, movement is good and it looks great! A solid set for sure.

Good product
Great material. Nice and waterproof. Look good while riding. Not really fooling anyone if you're trying to pull them off as jeans but they are a solid product.

Stylish pants with some issues
Overall a good buy if you're looking for overpants that don't make you look like a stormtrooper. Despite the cool styling, I would be hesitant purchasing these again. I use these daily for my commute. After a few months, the denim colorway began to fade to a slight red/orange tinge, very strange. I wonder if this would happen to the black colorway as well.

The snaps at the bottom of the pants were useless, and kept coming undone when riding. I ended up cutting them off, with no adverse affects to the pant.

I would also have liked the front pockets to be functional but understand that this would be an issue with the pants water proofing.

The plastic buttons on the back pockets popped off, and the waterproof gusset in the crotch is a little too short, allowing water to seep in during wet riding.

Overall, a good compromise between wearing riding jeans (which get hot and uncomfortable when you're off the bike), and unstylish traditional overpants.

these pants are awesome. the only thing they need is a front pocket you can seal or close up, other wise they are perfect, easy to put on or take off light enough to walk around in, water proof, warm, yet they have vents for the heat!! all in all outstanding!!

I chose this because it was highly recommended and I wanted something long term. Just for commuting around the city. However, I got the smallest size and it was still too big. I usually wear 30/31/32x32, but these pants were too baggy for my taste and feel exactly like my snow pants when I go snow boarding. No thanks. Not for commuting. For a road trip, sure. I really wish these would've fit. They are great but they need to make a smaller size for me ):

Would overpants like this provide good abrasion resistance?
Peter K on Mar 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Construction of the pants "twill" from the label is: 80% Polyester, 3% Polyurethane, 16% Kevlar, 1% Leather. You decide.
These ICON pants sizes are from SM - 4XL. Where does this match up in the size chart?

I normally wear a jean size w-38, i-34.
Harry S on Mar 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 2XL if you are a true 38waist. I am a 36-38 depending on the Levis style. I initially got the 2XL but they were too long and baggy through the legs, I only have a 30-31 inseam. Exchanged for the XL the waist is snug but fits well. They fit better through the legs and were still very long, but if you have a 34 inseam they should work well.
How do these compare to the Rev'It commuter pants as far weight/thickness of material? I want waterproof riding pants for the summer months, and the Rev'It commuter are already feeling too hot. Thank you!

BEST ANSWER: The pants are great I've had mine for 5 months, and I wear them all the time
I'm 6'4" 220lbs. Typically a Levis 34-36 waist and 36+ length and the size chart doesn't look promising. Lots of comments on them being baggy, but how's the length? True to Size?
Zachary K on Jan 13, 2017
Does this have hip armor? It's not mentioned in the video, but the product description states that it does.
Rachel G on Apr 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It has D30 hip and knee armor.
It says 5-pocket in the description. Where are the 5 pockets and how big are they?
Rodney L on Aug 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The product video explains this, the pants LOOK like a 5 pocket in order to make them look like jeans, however, there are only 2 rear pockets (the front 3 are just stitching that's sewn down.
Do these have a zipper you can zip into the ux jacket?

Hello how waterproof are these? As I'm in New Zealand and it's coming into winter lots of rain, I need a good waterproof over pants or could you suggest a product??
Cheers Taz
A C on Apr 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: These are just about as waterproof as you can get, they also hold warmth very well. I live in Norway and I rode to the middle of November with these pants before i parked up my bike, no issues with them, I was also just wearing regular jeans underneath cause thats what I wear at work and they still kept me nice and warm ;) Highly recomended if your looking for a good pair of waterproof overpants.
