This bag has ruined my brand new Ninja 650
I actually loved this bag. It did attach well and seemed great. I took 3 or 4 rides with the bag attached to my 2015 Ninja 650. Today I realized the bag has absolutely destroyed my paint at all points of attachment. I added pics for reference. It not dirt, apparently the heat of the bike has reacted with the bag at the areas where the magnet is and horrible percent discoloration has occurred. I'll be contacting Icon, but can't imagine they'll do a thing. Couldn't be more mad. If I had known this was a risk, I would never have utilized this bag.

Not quite as described
So my tank bag looks a bit different than the image. Each flap of my tank bag says ICON on it where the image does not show that. The zipper pullers are shown as orange and mine are solid black. and the orange patch on top of the bag is non existent. Nothing in there. The shape of the bag is the same but there are some differences. I read a lot of reviews on this before choosing this bag and since I ride a CBR250R ABS, the tank is small so I didn't want a bag that would be bigger than the tank but since I am a woman, I don't always pack light. But I do need to take my iPad with me. The reviews said they could fit an iPad, clothes, shoes, jacket ETC IN the bag. This is NOT possible. You can roll it up and seal it under the clip on the outside but no way is all that fitting inside the bag. A pair of shoes won't even fit in there unless you are a size 6 or smaller shoe size. My iPad is in an otterbox case. It barely fits. I worry with it will stress the seams but I need to bring the iPad with me. I had to condense what I bring with me, which is fine because I was tired of bringing the backpack but based on the other reviews I just want to clarify. The inside cannot hold a jacket, pants shoes and a shirt. Unless its for a teeny bopper. You can however roll it up and strap it in the buckle area on the top. I have attached a pic of it sealed with the ipad in it and my sandals on the outside as well as internal pictures. I like it, I just wish it was a tad roomier on the inside.

Small tank bag for carrying the essentials
I bought the icon primer for my Yamaha V Star 250. This is a small bike, so a large tank bag would look awkward. The Primer both fits and looks great and doesn't interfere with riding in any way. It's easy to pull off and put back on. It's not a huge bag by any means. But any larger on this bike (or a similar style 250) would look out of place.

As far as capacity goes. I am currently storing my Icon PDX raincoat in the bag. That takes up the majority of space. I can squeeze in my wallet, phone, and a drink and still have bit more room.

The backpack feature is sort of silly for a bag this small and I'm not sure how often I will use them. Another reviewer mentioned those teenage girl backpacks and I have to agree. The straps are very lightweight thin mess and you have to remove and reattach them between uses. There is small zippered pocket near the bottom of the bag where you can store them. The bag does have a small handle for easily carrying it.

The only short coming with this bag is the lack of a clear pocket for a map, GPS or smartphone. I may look for a clear pocket that I can attach to the top of the bag so I can keep my iPhone accessible.

Overall, the Primer is a decent small bag with an affordable price.

Great Bag
I love the way the bag looks on my TW200. It sticks well to the tank and I don't worry about it falling off on the road or trail. I haven't had it in the rain yet. My only complaints would be that its basically just one large pocket (there is a small divider pocket at the back). Also, there's not a good place to put the straps when not in use. Overall, I'm really happy with the purchase and it's the perfect size for what I need.

A+ Tank Bag!
I've had this tank bag for 6 months and it's been perfect for me. I ride a Kawasaki Ninja 400r (Same as the 650r, dif engine) I like this tank bag because it's not too big for my bike. It fits nicely on the tank without obstructing my view of the dash and doesn't interfere when moving the handlebars. It's also quite stylish and sleek as opposed to the larger tank bags by some other brands.

Some of you may be looking for more features such as a clear map pocket or a bigger bag to store more gear, and in that case it won't be ideal for you as it is fairly small. For me it's perfect, I take this everywhere and it holds: my small purse, sunglasses & prescription glasses/cases, some snacks, water bottle and an extra under armour shirt. There is a smaller inner zipped pockets as well for loose cash/change/house keys etc. It also has a second additional outer pocket for sunglasses, and a flap on the top if you want to strap anything else to it.

I have ridden through the rain with this and it seems quite water-proof as well.

I highly recommend:)

Spacious bag that doesn't get in the way
This is the perfect size tank bag for me on my Honda CBR600RR. I used straps to install it but it works extremely well with my Victory since it has a metal gas tank that it can attach directly to, instead of a plastic shell on top of a gas tank. It's spacious enough for my clear visor, sun screen, keys, cellphone, and other things I use on a long ride.

Very very good tank bag
This bag is all I wanted and needed. It is versatile and spacious for a tank bag. Keep in mind this works great for small items. The size is perfect for a tank bag, in my opinion anything larger should be on my pillion or back. I keep a pair of sunglasses, kickstand pad, reflective vest and in addition to that each day I carry a small lunch bag filled with a 16 oz energy drink, sandwich, and chips. This bag would not serve me on an overnight trip; just not enough room for clothes, etc. Only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is that it is not water proof and does not come with a rain cover.

Sweet little bag
The bag was a bit smaller then I thought it was going to be but it actually turned out to be the perfect size. It fits perfectly on my 95 Nighthawk. If I turn it 45 degrees on the tank I can still access the gas cap without having to move the bag. The style of the bag is much cooler then other bags I looked at and it appears to be very durable. The added bonus of backpack straps makes it easy to carry around.

Excellent little tank bag
This little guy is awesome for the price. Put over 1000 miles on it and still looks brand new, no wear and tare anywhere. Great for phone and wallet, jacket liner, and extra face-shield.

Small and it holds all i need. Did have to flip the magnets that are in the bag though it wouldn't stick to the tank with them the way they came.

I needed a smaller tank bag that was portable. I have several larger bags, but I have a small bike.
This tank bag was also highly recommended on the Yamaha TW200 forum.

I like Icon products and this bag meets my needs-small, good price and good quality. I needed a bag that will carry commuter necessities without being bulky on my tank.
Brian W on Mar 8, 2015
Already been riding with a red one of these for a season and love it, not to small, not too big and bulky, and the magnets keep it attached.

I think it will fit my 2015 Yamaha Fz-07 perfect. The look is also attractive, and the bag is well designed. Oh the price is reasonable.

I have had one of these on every bike I've owned. Super useful when you just need to stash a wallet, keys, iPod, stuff like that.
Anthony B on Oct 8, 2014
I needed a small bag when commuting and for when I don't feel like riding with a backpack on.
Andy L on Sep 2, 2014
Price point, size since my bike is a 250 I dont want something larger than my tank and in my way and overall available reviews stating that for its size it holds a lot. Being a female rider, we do need to carry more than the average rider. So hopefully this works out for me. I valued a lot of the womens reviews stating that it worked well for them and all they could fit in the bag and it not be too much.
Amanda R on Aug 15, 2014

need a small tank bag that can handle small stuff(smart phone, wallet, keys, etc) and snacks. I have a sena bluetooth so a map window isn't as necessary for what i need this for. Oh and no one seems to care but the d ring offers a great place to strap my helmet to while off the bike and using the tank bag in backpack mode.

Wondering how water resistant the bag is and if I can get my small 13" laptop in there?
A shopper on Aug 29, 2011
BEST ANSWER: absolutely no room for a laptop. I have a 13 inch macbook and when this came in I knew there would just be no way to fit one in there. this should be labled 'mini' tank bag because its small. kinda over priced for $50. I really wish they gave demensions on this thing before i bought it but its still nice cause its more space than under the rear seat and i can take it with me
What are the dimensions of this bag.
A shopper on Mar 18, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The Icon Primer Tank Bag is going to be 12" Long, by 11" at its Widest, and is expandable to about 5" Tall. Unfortunately, a toaster would just barely not fit in there, in case that is what you were hoping to transport.
works with a plastic thank?
Hugo G on Dec 3, 2013
BEST ANSWER: To work with a plastic tank you would need to attach suction cups to it as it comes with magnets(the magnets are super strong!). The d-rings on top of the flaps would probably work for attaching suction straps. It is a handy little bag for everyday use when you just need a few things. Good Luck!
I'm looking for a small tank bag to bring a spare visor with me when I go on evening right and I need to change from a smoked visor to a clear visor.

Is this bag big enough to fit a spare helmet visor?

Thanks
A shopper on Nov 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I think it MAY be possible dependent on how flexible the visor is. I personally would advise against it. The bag is pretty small. If you were to attempt it, I would make sure the visor in a protective bag. Probably be better to go with a larger bag. With that being said I love this bag. It fits all the small stuff and it has a very tight magnetic grip.
Does anybody that has bought this know it it will fit a 2012 wr250r?
Hunter C on Jun 11, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I would say if at least two the flaps attach to your tank your fine. I had this bag on a yamaha fz6r which was able to use all four flaps and now i have a suzuki gsxr 600. I can only use 3 of the flaps on the suzuki and the magnets kept bag secure to tank doing 75mph. This is a great little bag!! I love it and would recommend to anyone.
WIll a normal size (8 1/2" X 11") spiral notebook fit in this bag? I'm looking to be able to carry a notebook or two for when I need to take notes in meetings or class.
A shopper on May 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: You are not going to be able to fit a standard notebook in this bag. It has some height to is so you can throw a spare tshirt in there with a few other items. Dimensions just won't hold the 11" part.
Would a pair of tennis shoes (small shoes a I wear a size 6) fit in this bag?
Shawana G on Apr 7, 2014
BEST ANSWER: it won't fit boots, but a size 6 shoe should. it may not leave much room for anything else though. I use this bag in the summer for a tank bag and through the winter as my lunch box, and its seen daily use for about a year and a half. still holding up well. I like it. hope this helps
Anyone have used this as a tail bag? If so how easy was it?
A shopper on Oct 4, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I only use it as a tank bag. Should be easy as a tail bag as there are four D rings on the magnetic section, this would be easily secured. Good luck. This is a nice bag with a great value.
Is it waterproof? If not can you name a few bags that are?
A S on Jan 25, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I've owned bag for over four years and it is a perfect day size. Keys wallet phone snacks water and extra layer fit. When empty is flat and out of the way. Light and easy to carry around but is NOT waterproof I use ziplock to protect anything I don't want to get wet.
Do you know what capacity this is?
A shopper on Aug 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I think it's about 2 to 3 liters of capacity. I use to store the wallet, water, cell phone, glove, sunglasses and other small things.
