clean lines, close fit butt and easy straight leg
Just tried on my new pants and couldn’t be more thrilled!! Amazing fit for this type of durable heavyweight lined performer. And this is coming from an x-fashiondesigner who has fit gazillions of pants professionally on all body types. This crotch is comfortable! the back waist sits high so when forward on a bike you donot gap or lose the coverage at top of back waist. I am 5’9” and 138 lbs and took a size 8. It is roomy enough to wear over skinny jeans, thermals or light weight pants. I may have been able to take a 6 but I would not want to feel snug in these heavyweight crunchy pants. It also has side waist tabs that can be tightened to adjust fit at waist. The shocker is the butt fits great! close and sexy. If you have a huge caboose these may not be for you. I did see the review on a larger size and it sounded like they overgraded up the leg width on larger sizes which could potentially be a problem. Ladies we know our legs don’t necessarily increase at the same rate as our waist and hips. If you are looking for an overdesigned style with lots of bells and whistle visual details this is not for you. This stye has super simple lines. The legs fit wide and long, and a bit rugged and stiff so plenty of room at ankle for any boot and then some. This pant flatters the backside but does not fit close anywhere else so if you are looking for a supple body hugging narrow leg this is NOT for you. But in my opinion that type tends to make you look like sausage legs in a one size too small potato sack. My only negative is I wish it didn’t have the logo on the thigh. Be warned the pants have the icon logo as the small photos on the website...not clean as the video prototype.

Not Made for Women
The sizing chart was confusing (giving odd numbered size, but had to order in even numbers). I order a size larger than usual just in case. I'm pretty petite, but I couldn't even get these over my knees (with no pants underneath). However, holding them up, they would have been about a foot too long!

Fit Small!
Reviewing for my wife.

Purchased for my wife who wanted to start riding #2 on the bike. She is petite and many times size 0 (jeans, etc) will be big on her. Ordered a size 0 and they were tight! Jumped up to a 2. Otherwise, great bang for our buck, comfortable for her and seems to be a great entry level pant for someone just getting into riding themselves or passenger.

Giant shapeless chimneys
Ok, so I am well aware that most size 14 or 16 pants are not going to look as good as they do in the tiny sizes shown on the site or in the videos, but these pants were ridiculous! To say they were "Straight cut" would be an understatement. From hip to ankle these were just two big flat panels of fabric sewn together front to back. There was no curve to accommodate a butt and/or hips and this also meant that they were so wide at the bottom they covered my whole boot! The fabric was stiff and just trying them on at home I got swampy and sweaty so I am SURE they are not breathable. The Hella line, from the reviews, made me think these would be the answer for a woman with thighs but not at all. I kept them, chopped out the lining that holds the armor and sewed that lining into some more flexible waterproof ski pants for a touring trip. The abrasion resistance offered by the Hella 2 pants was not enough of a trade off to try to make these giant square pants work for me. Such a bummer. I had high hopes. I am 5'7", 180lb and usually a woman's size 14 jeans. I bought these in a size 14 (from my local shop - sorry Revzilla) and they fit over my thighs but literally could be the same on front or back except for a zipper on front and cut a little higher on back. They were for a completely flat booty! Save yourself the hassle if you have ANY junk in the trunk.

Nice pair of pants
Overall I like them. They remind me of ski pants, very sturdy material and decently thick. They sit well and don't fly up at the ankle like jeans tend to do. There's a bit of a flare at the ankles. It would have been a bonus if they had belt loops but the velcro tabs help tighten the waist. There isn't much of a liner but with the material they used, it doesn't need one. I've been wearing shorts under and have been plenty warm in 50 degree weather. They'll probably be really warm in the summer without much option for ventilation.
As everyone else has said, they run small if you want to use them as overpants. So whatever size you would go with based on the size chart, go up a size if you want to fit them over pants. I'm 5'7" 135lbs and ended up with a 10 to fit as over pants - I could go with a 8 if I didn't want to fit pants under. Length is decent on me, if I don't pull them up the bottoms can drag a bit on the bottom.
I like that they come with the D30 knee pads, saves me from having to upgrade. My main complaint would be that they don't have hip protection.

Solid and flattering
Very sturdy pants that look surprisingly flattering. I am 5'6" and 145 lbs. Size 8 fits well and I can squeeze leggings under the pants or really skinny jeans but not much more. The pants are on the long-ish side; I considered trimming them but decided against it for now. I also like the fact that there is only one Icon logo on the pants, so I don't look like a race car driver. While the pants do look quite good, they are feel a bit heavy and stiff when you're not on a bike, about the same feeling I get when I am wearing my ski pants. Overall, great product and the price was right - things that are an inconvenience to me are side effects of the pants offering protection, so I cannot complain much :)

Just what I wanted
I bought these 2 sized larger because I get very cold so I wear a lot of layers and wanted to make sure that I could still move in these when fully layered. They still fit nice and loose in all of the right places with an under layer and jeans on. I am 5'5" I am a fairly muscular athletic build, normally a size 6. I squat a lot so I have a larger butt and thighs, world champ Olympic weightlifter. I am over the moon happy with how these fit in those areas. Great buy!

Great pants!
This is my first pair of riding pants and I love them. It's getting cold and these keep me warm and keep the wind out. The pads are comfortable and stay in the right place. The material is very durable and the zippers are good quality. I don't think these are meant to be overpants, but I wear a thin base layer or a pair of snug fitting jeans underneath and wish the waist was just a tiny bit more roomy or adjustable. I am 5'7" 115 and got the size 4.

Love them and ride comfortably for hours on cold nights!

Does not have hip protection
Pant is OK, the only drawback is that it does not have any hip protection and has no removable liner.

Made for tall person
I haven't taken a spill in these pants, so I can't speak to their durability under pressure, but I've been pleased so far. The textile is thick, the fit is fine for me.

I do find them to be a bit hot, but all of my gear is. I have a bit of trouble getting them on and off over other clothes, but I'm stubborn and don't like taking my shoes off, so I think that's on me. My only real complaint is that the knee pads sit pretty low for my taste. In a riding position they are almost in the right spot, but still low. The pants were low, and I hemmed them, so perhaps these were just meant for a taller person.

I wanted nice over pants with the D30 pads. These looked nice and with the slight flair at the cuffs would fit nicely over any boot. Only thing would have made them better would be hip pads.

I love how my wife looks in shorts, but i will not allow her to ride in shorts. Needed some low profile overpants for asphalt rash protection and also keeping her shorts/jeans/etc clean (free of bugs and dirt from the road). I will write a review once the pants arrive.

Priced right, good color, versatile for several temperatures. We'll see how it fits and the quality level. We have ordered and liked other Icon branded riding gear.

looks to be a good textile riding pant for a small woman. Plus the textile hopefully will not have the garbage bag plastic swishy effect when moving.

Why does the Icon Women's Pant Size chart show odd-numbered sizes, but the item detail size selection is in even numbers? Which to use?
A shopper on Feb 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: They are even sized. My wife looks great in them by the way.
Are these pants sized very large like the Hella Jeans? I have the Hella jeans and you have to order 1-2 sizes down from your normal pant size. Are the Hella 2 textile pants cut large like this?
A S on Nov 4, 2014
BEST ANSWER: These fit me true to size. I wear thin jeans underneath and the waist is a little snug...might get the other color one size up to accommodate a layer or two of gear. Size 4, 115 -120 lbs
Are the knee pads removable?
A shopper on Nov 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, and they are also adjustable, meaning you can position them best for your own comfort and protection.
Is there any kind of hip protection or padding in these pants?
Shannon J on Jan 11, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No, there is no additional hip protection, though the fabric is sturdy.
I wear a size ten pants short. I am 5 feet even. What size should I get?
A shopper on Aug 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The sizing is pretty accurate, but they do run long. I wear a size 2 or 4 in jeans (depending on the brand). I originally ordered a size 6 in the Icon pants but they were so huge, they literally fell off me even with jeans underneath. So I ordered a size 2, and I couldn't get them over my hips. I finally ordered a size 4 and they fit just right,
But I can't fit any layers under them.
As I mentioned, they do run long. I am 5'5". The knee pads are kinda low when standing; however, when you bend your leg when sitting on the bike, they are still long enough to cover your ankle and boot. They are great quality and definitely worth trying out.
Are the pants waterproof?
A shopper on Jun 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Water resistant is likely more accurate. I've ridden home in the rain and stayed very dry- but my commute is short. If you were riding for a long time, they may or may not keep you dry.
How warm are these pants? Is there any thermal or waterproof liner?
Greg H on Nov 13, 2013
BEST ANSWER: There is no liner, but these pants are quite warm and keep the wind out nicely. I wear them with a thin base layer or a pair of snug fitting jeans underneath. FYI-They are a bit tight in the waist with jeans under them...may need to size up. I'm 5'7" 115lbs and bought size 4.
Do they have zippers all the way up the Side for easy removable?
A shopper on Oct 29, 2017
What material is this? Cotton, nylon?
