Icon Elsinore Boots
The Icon 1000 Elsinore Boots are straight out of On Any Sunday. A blast from the MX tracks of decades past, the classic five-strap, alloy-buckle chassis, stamped metal heel plate, and internal steel shank combine for a serious dose of moto-x homage. The traditional Goodyear welt construction mates the Icon street-specific sole to the magnificent leather upper. A medial entry zipper, allocated from Paratrooper jump boots, is the only luxury the Elsinore will allow itself. A modern relic from an era when men were iron and tanks were steel. The Elsinore, old-school MX reinterpreted for the urban sprawl.

Reviews & Questions
Shift pad is suede over a cutout of the boot material amid becomes the second weakest link after the zipper system.
I put maybe 150 miles on these before I was out on a not so narly trail to look down to my boot falling off because the zipper made like a disappearing act. Luckily I had some electrical tape to keep it on my foot. Also they don't like the rain at all.
I was a bit hesitant to pull the trigger on these because I'm not familiar with how my feet would fit in Icon boots. For comparison I wear a size 11 in Vans, Converse, Nike and Asics. These fit perfectly with a little room in the toe.
One thing to note is how much more pronounced the yellow stitching is in person compared to the product photos. Not a complaint, just an observation. Oh and you get a small set of extra screws for the heel plates. I guess they're replaceable. It's not advertised as a steel toe, but it's pretty rigid past the shifter panel.
I wore these for a while with thick socks and my jeans tucked in and my feet don't feel overheated at all. Then again it is pretty cold out now. So I can't say how these will fair in the warmer temps.
Protection & Durability
As you can imagine they are pretty clunky and stiff right out of the box and they'll need a good amount of time to break them in. I feel like Frankenstein walking around in them. Definitely not a walking around boot. At least not at first. Overall it feels like these could take a beating. Time will tell on this front.
Firm, yet flexible support around the ankle area and enough width and height in the toe box even with thicker socks. I've got a bunion too. So no comfort issues with that either. WOO. The sole inserts are kind of flimsy, but replaceable. I threw in a pair of my own which are a bit thicker with the arch support. Still enough room. I have somewhat skinny calves (15.5"). I didn't have to loosen up the buckles from their default setting to get them on. They zipped right up over my jeans.
Give it up for Icon for making such cool boots. Icon has done an amazing job recreating the old school mx style. Just look at the photos. It's just as cool as you think they are.
Bang for the Buck
Like I said, I just got these and time will tell how these will fair out on the road, but my initial impression is overwhelmingly positive. 4 out of 5. If they hold up after a few months of punishment, the 5th star is well deserved.
The moment you get them out of the box you notice the quality of the materials and craftsmanship. They look even better than the pictures!
I ride a V-Twin but never thought that the typical cruiser boots offer any protection at all. Since these boots have lots of protection but yet with a look that I think goes with about any bike. I have the brown distressed oiled color and they look just fantastic!
As they say on the video, they are a bit on the stiff side, but surprisingly, it does not affect your comfort walking around, and you get the best comfort while riding.
They break in quite quickly . . . I put them on the day I got them, and kept them on for the day . . . in a few hours it already felt like it was "mine".
They are very true to size, if you look into the conversion charts and measure your feet. give an extra 1/4" if you plan on using thick socks and you are all set!
Icon really shows their care for the product and for the customer in every aspect. You will find an extra buckle packed with your boots too.
The only thing is that they are a bit bulky at the toe area and shifting may get a bit cumbersome for some bikes . . . but these boots are so good that I am willing to make a slight mod on my shifter if I don't get used to the position.
In short, best boots I ever had!
As for Revzilla . . . Well, it was my first time buying from them, and I don't think I will buy from anyone else, if I can! Amazing customer service before, during and after purchase. Shipping is SUPERFAST!
Bought a pair of Icon Sacred for my wife and had to return it for size - it took me 3 minutes on the phone! You guys ROCK!
The foot fit wonderfully! To be on the safe side, I put the buckles on the last, outermost hole on each of them and then proceeded to zip them up. They wouldn't go with my pants tucked inside. I pulled my pants out and tried again. OW!!! I COULD get them zipped but only with great, sharp pain, and fear of actually catching skin in the zipper! The calf was too tight! I decided I needed a size up, so went to 9.5. Same problem! 10? Same problem! 10.5? Same!
Turns out, when changing sizes, ONLY THE FOOT PART OF THE BOOT CHANGES,, NOT THE CALF. If you have muscular or thick legs, it doesn't matter WHAT size you try on. They won't zip for you.
For the record, I measured my calves when I got home. At the thickest part, my calf measures 15". I Googled and found that to be about average for most women. One woman was a ballet dancer and another was a runner, so definitely both fit people, and they had calves similar to mine.
Gorgeous boot, comfortable in nearly every way, but only meant for thinner (thinner calves, anyway) people. Why doesn't sizing up the boot also size up the calf part?!
Here is the deal on the "break in":
The ankle portion is molded in a slight forward angle (ridding position). Also, the boot is a "bit" taller in the shift area, than my other boots. I have a 2014 Gen II VMax, and it seemed like the boots were too thick for my bike at first. However, the main issue was flexing the boot at the ankle, enough to get the toe portion under the shift lever. This will soften up and "break in" over time, and allow you to flex your foot under the shift lever with ease. The soles are very stiff, as stated in the review video, and will probably always be. Not for long walks, but they are comfortable enough to stand around in. They feel great when ridding.
The fit is spot on with my American 10.5 sized foot. At first they seemed like they might be a little small in the toes, but, either they stretched, the padding in the heel area compressed, or I'm just used to square toe boots. Anyway, they were perfect after one outing.
Again, shifting was difficult at first, but was getting better/easier after one "half hour" ride. Also, you can shift "up" with the side of the boot, using the lip of the sole, until they break in.
Hope this helps someone decide.
As a few other people have mentioned, the leather is more glossy that what is shown in the promotional image. In the image the boot leather is the same as the shift patch leather. In Anthony's video and what got delivered to many customers the shift patch is the same as advertised, but the boot looks like the leather on police boots. No about of "break-in" is going to change that. They are different products. The boots in the image are clearly brand new. Have you ever seen a company advertise a worn old version of their product? Not unless they are selling it to look distressed, like a pair of jeans.
