A great sucecssor to the RPHA ST!
I've been wearing the HJC RPHA ST (the previous iteration of this helmet) for about 4,000 miles and 6 months. It's a great helmet, but I had a few gripes with it - most notably the noise. It vented great, but given it's aggressive fit, it was really, really noisy. HJC have improved upon that with this helmet. It's likely due to the narrower shape. The padding inside is much softer and, although it has less of a "race" fit, my wide jaw still knows those pads are firmly against it. That said, in just 2 days and 300 miles, it's already started to break in and slide on easier.

The airflow on the RPHA 70 ST is much improved over the RPHA ST, which I didn't think was possible. The shell itself is more narrow and the neck roll is really aggressive, but once you get your head in it fits fine. If you're coming from an RPHA ST, stick with the same size in this one. Trust me. The one gripe I have about the airflow is the new vent scheme - the chin has an additional vent that goes to your face, but the slider is INSIDE the chin bar. My aforementioned large jaw and chin could easily touch the chin bar on the old ST and, while the 70 has a bit more room, the slider for the chin vent has a ridge that's nearly 1/4" deep and if I move my jaw slightly, my chin flips that vent shut and I'm left feeling that ridge irritating me until I stop and adjust the helmet. I'm going to take a razor blade and carve it down, but this was a really stupid design on the part of HJC. It's an injury waiting to happen.

The shield design is great - it doesn't use the HJC-20, but the newer HJ-26 ST. In fact, I think the only difference between this shield and those used on the RPHA 11 Pro is that the HJC-26 has tear off posts whereas the HJC-26 ST don't. So, for now, if you want a tinted visor and don't mind the tear off posts annoying your periphery, go for the HJC-26 - otherwise, the ST versions will drop sometime in mid to late November 2017.

The drop down visor is much smoother and far less clunky. The only downside to the slider being on the left side is that I'm left wondering where to mount a comms system. Previously I had my SENA Prism Tube camera mounted on the right and a comms system on the left. I'll have to get creative here.

All in all, I'm really happy with the new RPHA 70 ST in comparison to the old ST. I'll break down the above in a simple tl;dr list.

PROS:
* great airflow, even better than the RPHA ST
* superior optics thanks to the flatter visor
* the ratcheting system of the visor is improved over the previous version
* interior is far more comfortable
* a LOT quieter while maintaining better airflow than the ST
* internal sun shield is much smoother, no more bonking you in the nose
* I'm not getting buffeted around at speeds over 50mph

CONS:
* an initial fit that feels almost too snug, but that breaks in really quickly - so, not really a con?
* the additional lower chin vent opens and closes from the inside and the switch may hit yout chin - HJC, why you do dis? it's like you want people to get a half inch horizontal gash in their chins :(

Worth the money
I already have a Shoei GT-Air, but it’s coming into it’s sixth year of service and I needed a new lid. I chose this helmet and it is worth the money. It has everything the GT-Air has and it’s lighter with better air flow. You also can change the face shield and replace it with a tinted or mirrored shield. You can’t do that on the GT-Air ( clear only). The lining is not up to Shoei’s but it’s not bad. I have a large Gt-Air (3lbs 12oz) and I bought the Rpha 70 st in a XL (3lbs 8oz). Very stable at highway speeds. Both helmets are very good, but if I could do it again I would buy the Rpha over the Gt-air just because of the bang for the buck.

Great helmet, great price!!!!
Great helmet, great price, a lot of compliments on the look, the sizes run a little small, measured on the high side of large, ordered x-large and it's still slightly tight fitting after several hundred miles of riding but a great all around helmet.

Fantastic design, quality is lacking in places
My fiancée and I have owned two of these helmets for seven months.

# Sun shield
The drop-down sun shield is excellent. It's dark enough. The switch to actuate it is easy to use. The construction is solid. I'll never go back to carrying a second face shield with me.

# Ventilation
The ventilation at the top of the helmet is categories better than anything I've experienced in my twelve years of riding. I often open is to the "middle" notch because "full" is too much ventilation. Yes, seriously. Ventilation around the rest of the helmet is totally average, meaning you can't tell if the vents are open or closed.

# Face shield
Nice, wide viewport. Easy to open with either hand. Very easy to remove and reinstall.
The tiny switch (that locks the latch closed) works well, but I've never had a use for it.

# Padding
Very comfortable from day one. Only gets better with age. Easy to remove, wash, and reinstall.

# Communication system
It was easy to install our Sena SMH-10 radios with the clamp mount.

# Weight
A little lighter than our old CL-16 helmets. The weight is decent for sun shield hardware in it, but it's nothing exceptional.

# Quality
Here's a list of issues we've experienced.
## My helmet
- Sun shield anti-fog coating was uneven and blurry; replaced by RevZilla
- Face shield is difficult to latch, doesn't provide a positive "click"
- Skipfog insert doesn't seal; shield and insert replaced by HJC
- Hi-vis pattern on the top of the helmet has sun bleached to about 50% the original brightness

## My fiancée's helmet
- Sun shield anti-fog coating was uneven and blurry; replaced by RevZilla
- Face shield is nearly impossible to latch; when it is latched, the shield is flexed out so there's a large gap on either sides; currently exploring warranty replacement with RevZilla

Great helmet
I have only had the helmet for 3 weeks and the cheek pads are broken in, glasses fit really well, the anti fog visor prevents fog perfectly, airflow is above average, sun visor works great

Overall the helmet is just what I wanted. Fits well and noise is very limited. Only thing I would change if a locking for the slide down shade but great helmet.
