HeliBars Honda ST1300 Pilot Handlebar Riser

HeliBars’ mission is to keep you in the saddle longer by reducing bar reach, improving ergonomics and increasing comfort. Designed by fellow riders, HeliBars handlebars and risers are crafted right here in the US and are a perfect solution for those looking to adjust the ergonomics of their ride without sacrificing looks or quality. So whether you’re an in-town commuter or a long distance hauler, HeliBars are the no-nonsense approach to rider comfort.

14 degree decrease in Ram Ball mounting Angle.  New cover design positions Ram Ball at a more vertical angle reducing stress to the threaded mount greatly reducing the chance of the Ram Ball coming loose.

Features:

  • Larger more rigid rubber anti flex bumpers greatly reduce unwanted handlebar movement
  • Drain holes placed at the bottom of the main mounting bolt counter bores eliminates water from pooling and rusting the hardware
  • Re-designed shape with contoured cover vastly improves appearance fit and function
  • Allows easier access to air filter maintenance
  • Contour cut channels position control housing wire looms neatly in place and keeps them from being pinched by the fuel tank at full lock position
  • Improved viewing in mirrors
  • 3 different models to give you those additional features you may require
  • 2” taller (50mm) than stock (1” higher than original design)
  • 2.5” rear offset (62mm) closer to the rider (0.5” additional reduction in reach than original design)
  • 2.5 degree reduction in handgrip rearward angle -this is the most significant in terms of true long distance comfort because it rotates the rider’s wrist into a more natural position

Note: Requires Powerlet Socket Kit Harness for running power to the Powerlet socket (sold separately).

Excellent Fit
I recently added an ST1300 to my garage next to my Wing.
Like most bikes I have owned, I needed to do something with the bars to make the bike more comfortable. HeliBars are the perfect answer for me. It allows me to raise and bring the bars back, which puts me in a very comfortable riding position.
I choose the Pilot model, which includes the Powerlet outlet and the Ram Ball.
When I opened the package, I started looking for mounting hardware, bolts, etc... There are none! It concerned me a bit, because I hadn't read in the installation instructions that the stock bolts were all you need. After looking at everything closely, I came to the conclusion that the stock bolts would be all I needed, and I was right! Great design HeliBars!
The Pilot model also comes with the Powerlet outlet mounted, but it DOES NOT come with a Powerlet Wiring Harness, needed to connect to the bike's battery. The HeliBar instructions on page 9 tells you that the Powerlet outlet can be used with Powerlet Wiring Harness (SOLD SEPARATELY) They provide a part number 150-0034 however, when I type that part number into the Powerlet web site directly, in comes up with a different part #. So, I will be investigating further to determine which Powerlet Wiring Harness I need. (Will report back on this) I wish that HeliBars would simply include the wiring harness to avoid this confusion, and now the extra work to complete the installation. I don't mind paying the extra $, just give me everything I need the first time. If HeliBars is going to sell a model that includes the Powerlet outlet, it just makes common sense that it would be included!!! That's my only pick on this product. I want the ram mount and the powerlet outlet, that's why I choose it.
My other pick with HeliBars is that they don't state that you don't need additional mounting hardware and that the stock bolts are used. Again, small thing, but sure would make it easier for those of us ordering something that we are installing ourselves, and that we haven't installed previously. Even the staff at Revzilla didn't have the answer, but they tried. Overall, I will still give it a 5 star rating, because it really is a good product.

Why did you choose this?

I was getting neck and shoulder pain from leaning over on my ST-1300. After hearing about how this riser both moves the bars back and up, putting the rider into a more upright riding position, I decided to try one for myself.

Moved from more upright position so hopefully these risers will bring me a bit more upright and take the strain from my back

is the power let wiring included? If so how long? After install will I be able to still lift the tank to change air filter without removing handle bars? Thanks
Mitch B on Jan 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: As I recall maybe two spade terminals (female) are included. No other wiring is included.
I believe I could still get my tank up high enough for filter changes but it was difficult and to avoid scratching paint I just layed the bars forward.

That all being said I love these risers!
