WEAR YOUR JACKET OVER YOUR GLOVES IN HEAVY RAIN
I don't own these gloves, but I am writing because the "not waterproof" reviews that appear on almost every Gore Tex glove on this site are driving me crazy.

As an owner of many Gore-Tex products, which I wear in the HEAVY rains of Vancouver, BC, I assure you Gore-Tex IS waterproof, and Gore-Tex does NOT allow companies to claim they have Gore-Tex if they do not indeed have it.

When you are riding a motorcycle at speed, the rain can find a way into *any* gaps in your clothing, and you will get wet.

So, if it's HEAVY rain, put your jacket sleeves OVER your gloves to reduce the chances of rain dripping down into your gloves. Just as you would put your pants OVER your boot cuffs in heavy rain. It's just common sense. Don't have your glove gauntlets over your jacket - of course rain will get inside your glove if you do that. It doesn't mean the Gore Tex "isn't waterproof."

Also, if it's HEAVY rain, the only way you're really going to keep 100% dry is a one-piece rain suit with a hood, some kind of turtle-neck or other neck gaiter, etc. etc. AGAIN - you would have the jackets sleeves and pant cuff of such a rain suit *over* your gloves and boots.

I am willing to bet money that the people claiming that Gore Tex gloves are "not waterproof" are wearing the glove gauntlets over the jacket in heavy rain, and that just doesn't work.

Very warm gloves. Great protection and decently waterproof. Needs some break in time. Can comfortably ride at highway speeds at 40-50 degrees. A little chilly around 35. Paired with hand guards or heated grips you can probably go lower than 30 just fine.

Con: They are flipping expensive. But i bought them at the Rev Zilla store and after putting them on i figured they were the right ones. They fit my criteria Of warm and waterproof while offering good crash protection the best out of the 6 or 7 gloves I tried on.

Nice functional full-cover gloves
Just got these as an early Christmas gift. I am a big fan of Held and quite impressed with these. This new trick they have is the 'goretex' is bonded to the glove, so you no longer feel that stupid rain liner floating inside (the one that is impossible to put on when your hands are damp). So they feel like non-waterproof gloves, while being fully waterproof. They look great and are designed to be worn over your jacket sleeve. These are my new spring/fall gloves (Held air gloves for summer and heated gloves for cold weather). Though these will keep me warm quite well until about 40s and they seem cool enough for up to 75 or so.

Love the fit
Held quality shines through. My first gloves with x-trafit and they are so much better than having a liner that slips around on the grips. Tactile feel is excellent. Haven't had in actual rain yet, but tested in the sink and they did the job. Great wind protection - keeps fingers warm in the high 40s so far (not sure about lower yet).

Great Quality Winter Gloves
I got these gloves for a great price on Revzilla, and I have to say, they did not disappoint.

They are certainly waterproof; I got to test that the day after they arrived. The visor wipe provided on the left index finger also came in handy.

These gloves also kept my hands pretty darn warm. Over my 30 mile commute on the highway, my hands stayed warm at temperatures around 40 F (I don't really ride in weather much colder than this, so I'm quite happy).

Good Gloves
These Gloves are perfect for winter time. (30°F) have not tried them in lower temps. the protection against wind is great.

I found some draw backs that i hope they can correct for next model since they are a very good gloves in quality and features. but for the price they should give you all the best.

the finger tips are not what I expected, the seam is on the outside of the finger. and this causes to have a reduced sensitivity in the fingers. I also have a summer gloves that were way more cheaper that this and the point of the fingers are much more better finished.

I also. found that the open for the jacket is not a big as one expected for a winter gloves. the jacket is bulkier on the sleeves but i assume that is is normal on all winter jackets. and i always have a hard time to fit the sleeves inside the gloves.

Slow break-in, stubby fingers
I've put about 750 miles on them and they are still not breaking in as well as I'd hoped - the fingers in particular are kind of stubby compared to other Helds in the same size- it's a weird, boxy cut, and I keep hoping for it to stretch a bit at the ends.

They don't have great airflow but they are definitely waterproof. So far they've been durable.

NOT waterproof
i bought these specifically as a 3-season *waterproof* glove. i have heated gerbings for winter.

i just got back from a 4-day ride through the VA mountains which was mostly rain. these gloves absorbed water and passed right through to my hands. i don't know what else to say. when called upon to do the task required, they completely failed.

expensive trial-and-error this was.

not happy i am.

Not waterproof, your hands will get soaked. Glove cuff diameter is too small to fit easily over jacket cuffs.
I needed a good fall riding glove that provided a little bit of warmth for cold mornings and wet weather riding in the PNW. I really like Held gloves as the fit, finish, and materials they use are always top notch. These seemed no different, so I decided to buy them.

After a year's worth of use, I can safely say they are not waterproof. Despite being Gore-tex, they still manage to let water in, effectively turning them into very expensive plain leather gloves. I'm guessing that the inner Gore-tex membrane breaks down after repeated flexing in certain high use areas and then the just water seeps in. I had a two hour ride home yesterday in moderate rain and by the time I reached my driveway my hands were soaked and I could wring water out of the gloves.

The second issue I had with the gloves is the small size of the cuff. I have a Klim Adventure Rally jacket and it's very difficult to get the cuff on the gloves to fit over the cuff of the jacket. These seem to be designed to fit over a more narrow jacket cuff, like maybe a leather street jacket.

In any case, I'm sorry I purchased these gloves. I feel like I wasted a good amount of money on something that only worked for a very short period of time.

Good luck with previous Held gloves. These fit the gap between the cold weather warm&dry and the summer perforated gloves.

I want a true waterproof glove, well made, well designed that still gives good feel of bike controls, hence the choice of the Xtrafit. Comfort is crucial and so is it's ability to keep my hands safe in the event of a crash. Made in Germany, quality materials, good reviews plus I think they will suit my hands... ; ) Cheers for all the information Revzilla!
