very comfortable from the minute I put them on.
I bought these and then went for a long weekend ride at Deal's Gap, Tail of The Dragon, and all the surrounding roads. I put about 500 miles on the bike wearing these gloves and they worked great. Not too hot at 72 degrees out and were good at 45 degrees in the morning. I would want warmer gloves if going for a long ride at 45 and would want a glove that vents more if riding in 80+ degree weather. Can't beat the comfort!

Awesome gloves - sizing was tricky
These are some amazing gloves. Granted, I have never owned gloves even close to this price, but after trying a couple nice looking options which cost a bit less but didn't quite fit I ended up with these, and very am happy I did. They look and feel absolutely bomber - I am confident they offer excellent protection - and the fit is (finally) perfect for me. For sizing I first measured my hand as in the photo on this site for Held sizing - hand flat on a table, tape measure below knuckles. I got 8.75" so following sizing advice from the reviews I figured I would be good with a 9, and ordered another Held glove. Nice glove, and I would have happily kept it if it weren't a bit big for me. The body of the glove was roomy but OK, but the fingers were long enough to catch on the brake and clutch levers of my bike - not good There were no other sizes available in that glove so I had to look elsewhere. So I tried another brand in a similar price range but they were very snug around the middle of the hand - almost couldn't get them on - and the fingers were still too long so sizing up didn't look promising. I decided to go back to Held so I measured my hands again, but this time hands in the air, and got 8" instead, which supported my decision to order the Race-Tex in a size 8. The fit is snug but feels good. My thumbs and a couple fingers touch at the ends a little, but I much prefer this almost perfect finger size to the overlong fit of the other gloves. They are little stiff but I am confident they will loosen and mold to my hand with some more wear. My take away on sizing for Held gloves is to a) measure your hand while it is NOT flattened on a table top, and b) if you are on the border of two sizes when measuring this way, as I was with 8", go with the smaller one for best fit. Good luck finding your perfect glove - I know I found mine. The price is high but I feel they are worth it, and I am probably a Held owner from here on out.

Comfortable and Dry!!
Bought this glove for summer rain ride. After 30 minutes in the rain, the leather was soaked but my hands were still somewhat dry.

Excellent quality and extremely comfortable. The sizing chart is right on. My hands are 8.5 inches and got the size 8. The gloves were a little tight when new. After using for couple days, they are now perfect.

Awesome glove!
I love Held gloves. I bought these for track day use and commuting based on the video review by Anthony - spot on!. I have very large hands and the size 12 fit me perfect (which is unusual since my fingers are long). Fit was excellent, construction is top notch. Protection is right up there with the best of them. Love the wrist since-down. The weight/thickness is a little on the heavy side compared to GP gloves but that's what you get with gore-tex gloves. Wore them to work about 5 times then did a track day with my Multistrada. Comfortable right from the start. Scored the "airflow" as average but be aware that the Ducati has hand guards that probably deflect most of the air. I'd buy these gloves again in a minute - expensive, but worth every penny!

great glove!
hand is 8 inch circumference and glove fits true to size. fit and finish is top notch.
leather is just starting to break in, but it felt comfortable even before.
haven't had to test out safety features and hope I never have to, but I bought the glove just because of all the safety features and they are indeed formidable.

Late Season Start
I have too many pairs of Helds. My old racers aren't done yet, so it's been a late season start for this pair.

So far they are breaking in nicely. Initial break-in had a little bunching in the palm but that is settling in nicely. This is my track, and spring/fall glove. For me the Race-Tex work better than the Phantom II's.

Very impressed with these gloves so far
I'd normally wait a few weeks before reviewing a new product, but with a couple of very minor cons, these are very impressive gloves. This is my 3rd pair of Held gloves and they all fit very well - tight to get on, but a very snug fit with just the right amount of room at the tips of the fingers. Best of all, no bunching up in the palm, unlike some other gloves that I own.

Anyway, I wore them for the first time at the weekend for a 4 hour ride. Although they felt new and a little stiff, they were immediately comfortable and have protection in the right places.

They have all of the usual Held goodies, like the rubber visor wiper on the left forefinger, although I was disappointed to see that they were made in China. The quality appears not quite as good as the other Held gloves I have, which were made in Hungary, but still better than Brand A.

The one negative is that the gloves felt a little warm on a sunny, 65° afternoon. My hands didn't get sweaty at all, so the Goretex was doing its job, but it doesn't bode well for warmer weather. Hopefully the flipside is that they will work better on cold days than my current all seasons gloves.

They're not exactly a bargain at the current price, but then it is a very technical product and well made from quality materials, so I'm really not sure how to mark them on the value scale..

Great glove, but has some shortcomings
I have one complaint about these gloves, which is the length of the gauntlet. Unless it is raining, I like to wear my gloves over my jacket sleeve, but these gloves are so short that I have to carefully fold and stuff the sleeve inside each time. Even when I do that, my sleeve is likely to pop back out again mid-ride. For a top-shelf four-season glove that costs just under $300, this is a real pain.

Now, with that said, the gloves are awesome. I have been riding with them for the last six months, and the exterior is holding up perfectly. The Gore-Tex liner keeps my hands dry, while flowing a reasonable amount of air (not fantastic, but pretty good). The liner feels like it is coming a little loose at the end of one finger, but not enough to really upset me.

Also, I found the sizing a little odd. For any size that fit my palm/wrist well, the fingers were slightly too short. If I sized up for fingers that were long enough, the palm/wrist area was too big. Just something to be aware of.

Held Quality... Race Inspired... Space Alien fingers
Why I bought these:
-Wintertime hi-way riding in Arizona
-I don't feel any airflow, but there are vents all over it.

The Good:
-Race Technology for a winter-time touring glove checks all the boxes. They are what they say they are.
-Sexy looking gloves for your racer-boy side. You know I'm right. :)
- Warm, not sweaty. Very good for 3 season in AZ. Don't even try it in Summertime.
-Protection is perfect for a street glove for any rider. I could harp on about all the built-in features. Amazing protection.
-Wrist and gauntlet closures are easy to use, and comfy.
-I do like the little wiper. It really works for a quick shield wipe.

The Bad:
-Sizing is quirky. The XL's fit me best, however, the fingers are substantially too long. The Large are painfully too tight around the palm, and the fingers are still a touch too long. I'd say, if you have space-alien hands with long skinny fingers, these bad boys are for you. For me, I find the extra flop on the ends, interfere with lever control. I plan to have them locally modified by a professional seamstress to adjust the finger length.
-Glove are very stiff, and hard to bend while new. I don't have enough ride-time to say if they will loosen up enough to be comfortable. But heavy traffic use will make your clutch and brake levers pretty annoying quick.

Nit-picking:
-Price for fit/style is a touch steep. You have to love the Held gloves to swallow the value.
-The inner liner isn't too bad at making the gloves bulky BUT, you still know it's in there, and wish it wasn't. That's the price we pay for lined gloves.

Anthony Nailed The Review
I'm on the last day of a 2000-mile tour with these gloves, bought new two weeks ago. I ordered a large, but the tag in the gloves says XL. They were a tad tight, but they've stretched out after a good soaking in the rain.

Speaking of rain, they do keep your hands relatively dry, but not really dry. I rode five hours in hard rain and they got soaked, but don't have the sodden, these-things-will-never-dry feel that most leather gloves get. Moreover, they dried in about four hours, which is good.

Very hard to get on when wet. But I like the gauntlet closers and the wrist strap, which is well designed. For a $250 glove, I'd say the product delivers.
