Worked as advertised
I am a new rider and I know I'll be getting much better gear in the future, but I didn't want to start off with expensive gear so I bought this to use as long as I could while learning to ride.

FIT
I am 5'10 250, have a big enough belly capable of putting away an entire 4lb whole roasted chicken in one sitting, and ordered the XL. Its just right for me with the expansion gussets fully open.

COLOR
I got the black and high-viz and on every ride there have been at least 2 cars that have attempted to pull out of intersections or turn left and jumped on the brakes because they saw me in the distance. I am definitely always getting high-viz gear from now on.

WEATHER
A few weeks into owning my new bike I've ridden in weather from 11F to 60F, sunny, cloudy, windy and rainy weather. Since it's winter, in general I've ridden with a thick champion base layer, full sleeve shirt and this jacket with the liner. Here's my experience:

* Between 11F-20F, I was cold and would probably not ride again in such weather because my fingers nearly froze and dropped off, but my torso was fine.
* Between 20F-30F, I was a bit cold but it was tolerable.
* Between 30F-50F, I was very comfortable.
* Above 50F, I took the liner out and was very comfortable.
* Around 60F, I had no liner and opened all the vents and was very comfortable.
* When it gets hotter, I'll probably ride with a T shirt and jacket, no liner. The ventilation is great and I have no doubts I'll be comfortable in warm weather. I grew up on the equator though so my hot weather tolerance is far better than most people in North America.
* I rode in the rain in 35F for about an hour and stayed completely warm and dry.

PROTECTION
I've fallen twice while wearing this jacket, both at < 5 MPH and rolled on the ground, enough to put a hole in the snow pants I was wearing. Jacket suffered minor scuffs that are barely visible and there's no other damage. I was completely unhurt.

So, in summary, it works for the weather, is waterproof and provides enough protection for very low speed crashes.

I would not buy it again because I'll probably get Olympia or Aerostich or something, but for a beginner, it's perfect.

Love it. Great price
I'm a new rider. 6'2'' 185lbs ordered an XL. The fit is good length wise with the chest a little big. I can snug it up at the waist but no adjustments on the chest. I have a 43" chest. I've rode from 55-80 degrees in it so far with the liner removed and it has kept me very comfortable. I also rode on the highway in light rain and kept completely dry.

Great Jacket and it works
Bought this jacket for the multiple layers and Protection. Upgraded the back protector to the D3O Protector. Keeps warm down into 40's, haven't tried any lower than that. As for the protection/armor and durability.... it works. Went down on my Buell Blast around a corner ~35-40mph and walked away and rode bike home with a couple holes in the shoulders and one on the elbow from sliding. No bruises, no cuts where the jacket was. Will be buying another one if the Wife cant sew the holes together on this one. If your reading this thinking about this jacket I would say buy it stop thinking about it.

Well thought out, could use some improvements
I got this jacket in the high vis option a few weeks ago, and have been wearing it almost every day since. It does feel like there was a good deal of thought put into it's features - for instance, I'm a huge fan of the velcro being on the opposite side of the zipper at the wrists (why some other brands put the velcro over the zipper, I can't fathom... why even have both, in that case?).

I also like the 3d mesh option, but as was mentioned in the video, it would be nice to have another magnet in the center although it's not necessary. I'm not sure if that will be enough airflow in the summer, but it made a huge difference on a low-mid 90's day.

The fit, for me, is a bit odd. I would say I'm in between a medium and a large - I don't have an especially athletic build anymore, but I'm not overly hefty either. I needed a large for my chest and shoulders, but could fit a medium for my arms and stomach. That being said, the arms on this have a HUGE amount of volume - I've got them adjusted completely down and they do fit appropriately (again, a nice touch with more snaps than other brands normally have), but it's a lot of excess fabric. If you've got 24" biceps, this seems like the jacket for you. The arms are also a bit longer than I would like, although they fit well enough on while on the bike.

As for actual negatives - it mostly comes down to price point. The waterproof zippers aren't, completely. They've done well in short showers and extended light rain but when I went through about 15-20 minutes of heavy thunderstorm, they all leaked a bit (except, surprisingly, the main body zipper - the pockets, shoulders and back had all let some water in, but the front hadn't).

The material isn't the most comfortable but considering it has a built-in waterproof liner, that may just be a necessary evil. It does seem to be breaking in a bit as well, so hopefully that will keep up. As it is, with the long arms and fabric feel, I try not to wear it very far off the bike.

I have a d3o ce1 back protector that fit perfectly, but I'm not sure what else would fit in the pocket.

Overall, I do like the jacket so far. It's definitely been designed by people that ride - pockets are easy to get into with gloves on and while on the bike, wrists only need to be adjusted to your size once, (mostly) waterproof zippers, and the ability to to basically turn the front into a mesh jacket are all stellar touches.

Great jacket & value
Bought this as a summer jacket and after the first few rides am very pleased. Its true to North American sizing (I wear a 54 suit and 4xl in casual tops and the 4xl Butane fits perfectly). I purchased the high viz version and really like the styling, just enough yellow so I'm visible but not so much I look like a traffic pylon. Good armor in the shoulders & elbows but the back is a bit spartan.

Nice Jacket
I love this jacket! It's perfect for late winter early spring. Let's in plenty of air while moving, but of course while sitting still there is no flow. I've also found it to be a bit too warm for temps in the mid 60's and up. The fit is good, and as always the side expansion zippers are great if you need a little extra room. The only thing is I wish I had another one in another color! :D

Great cool weather jacket on a budget
Bought this just before winter and have used it since. I ride almost everyday, even in the winter since the weather is mild here. It is very well put together and I have had no quality issues. The liner is the best liner I have seen in a motorcycle jacket. I am sure you can get a better jacket but not at this price!

Great jacket, air flow should be better
Good: comes pre-armored, even has a soft back pad. I took a low speed fall in a parking garage coming around a corner (grabbed too much front brake) and was completely unhurt thanks to the jacket.

Bad: Even with the huge front mesh vent and top back outlet, I don't feel air circulate inside the jacket. I have opened all vents. When unzipping the cuffs, arm airflow is great.

Note: I do not completely fill up the jacket. I am 6' 4", 225 lbs and I got an XL. Since the weather is hot I do not use the liner. The jacket fits well around my torso. I have the sleeves snapped to their tightest setting.

Very good jacket. Keeps me warm in 50 degrees and up. Would be nice with more of a collar but not a deal breaker.

I have a medium Fly Butane jacket in Black/Gray and matching Fly Butane riding pants. I've been very satisfied with the look and the performance but it fits rather snug with the liner in and a button down shirt over t-shirt. (I'm 5'8", 185lbs.) I've wanted a colder weather jacket with hi-viz colors. Chose this because it can work with the riding pants I already have. Upped the size to a large to accommodate a sweater.

Was looking for something that would work during Arkansas winter grade, as my perforated leather was not going to fit that role.
This has a full sleeve liner and is externally waterproof (don't want waterproofing from a liner). It had some good reviews and seems to give good value for price considering I'm just getting back into riding. Will likely make this part of a commuting suit when I upgrade to leathers in Spring.

Looks like a great jacket with a great price point. Warm Liner for colder temps and it's removable with vents for when it gets warm out! A little bit of everything for a guy like me who wants to own one all season jacket for now.

Size seemed right, in my price range. It also had a nice look, while not being to simplistic nor smothered to death with pockets. Finally I live in Iowa it gets cold, damp, wet, humid, and scorching hot.

Would you recommend it for hot weather?
A C on Jan 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Everything opened up, and the forearms zipped open and folded back, kept it comfortable sitting in 60 degree weather, and moving on side streets at 70. I imagine on the highway it will work into the 80's outside of traffic. Really sunny days might impact that, with the torso being all black and no venting on the back below the shoulders.
I'm 5'10, 160 lbs and a size 40 chest, 33" arm length. Should I go medium or large on this jacket? Chart size suggests Large. Nomally get medium size jackets, so a bit worried about getting a large on this one.
Thanks
A shopper on Jul 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm a 44 and went large. Figure med should fit well. Solid jacket
I am reading the reviews, though for me (5' 10", 250 ( mostly around middle)), I have broader chest and waist, but arms are about 35. So a 2XL should fit or be my best correct?
A C on Aug 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes the waistline adjustments are quite forgiving, and the arms are plenty roomy but also precurved to the front. So I would recommend for sport bike riders
Will the Icon D3O Viper 2 Back Protector fit in this jacket?

A shopper on Jul 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Mostly yellow, but it really is that kind of mix of yellow/green hi viz (you can see some of each in it depending on how you try, lol)..... it matches the hi viz Scorpion uses on my r2000 helmet perfectly.

Is the shell of this jacket waterproof or is there a separate waterproof liner/membrane?
