nearly perfect pant
Summary:
I bought this years kili jacket, wore it on a 4700 mile ride through sun, snow, pouring rain 30 degree to 85 degree temps and was so impressed by the comfort, build quality, materials that I had to get the pant. I am equally impressed with the pant. Neither are perfection however when you take the pricing into consideration, you would have to spend a lot more for just a little. With the value prop in mind, if you're looking for a $300 pant, this is a no great choice.

Style:
These are good looking pants and look great with the matching jacket. I am not a big 'style' guy but the pants definitely look sharp/fitted. They are neither too tight or baggy and simply put, are well tailored.

Comfort:
In 50 degree temps with just jeans, the pants were relatively comfortable. I could see going slightly cooler with no additional gear until maybe 40's when I would add an insulating layer, heat or both. I believe I would be comfortable up to around 75/80 with just a light pair of pants. 85 in Wisconsin humidity would probably be pushing it, comfort wise.

Sizing/Adjustability:
Based on the only other review here, I sized up to a 36 and it was a bad move. I am normally a 32, sometimes a 34 in a motorcycle pant and I was a bit nervous that I wouldn't have adequate room. Not so. I am 5'6" and 160ish lbs. I have a solid lower body build and never miss leg day. I went with the 34S upon replacement as I have a shorter inseam and the 36's were quite long, especially when considering knee armor placement. The 34S pants look nearly custom tailored on my 5'6" 30" inseam frame with just jeans on. Sitting on the bike I have plenty of room and I could even see adding in heated pants/fleece underneath to improve cold weather comfort. The knee and hip pads are fully adjustable and stay in position once placed. Having had trousers w/o suspenders in the past, I don't ever see going back. The only issue I had was if I was wearing my carry belt (which most folks don't use), it was just a bit too much around the waist. Wearing a leather/flexible belt did not cause any discomfort.

Materials/Manufacturing:
Again, big reason for the purchase. First, D30 armor. Seems a lot of manufacturers are now including this in (or non-entry level armor) their gear and without it, it's a bit of a non-starter. Second, the materials choice is excellent. The zippers/pulls, fabrics, etc. are well designed/ thought out and integrated nicely into the pant. Definitely has the look and feel of quality.

Features: From the zipper pocket available to use if you remove the suspenders to the front zip pocket and the gaitors around the legs, there is just enough in this pant to be very functional but not to much that it is overstated. I don't know about most folks but I am pretty conservative and I don't care for a lot of flash... There isn't so much on this pant that makes it look like you're trying too hard, but there is enough to it to keep you comfortable/well managed.

Airflow: There is none. I bought these pants as I use mesh and wp liners in the summer above 80/85. These pants are for everything below that. They will do this well from commuting to adventuring. That said, above 80/85 and/or depending on where the heat is coming from on your engine and/or where you ride (in the city/stop and go traffic vs touring the countryside) you will get hot in these pants around that 85 degree mark. There is a tiny bit of air movement but nothing more than you would expect from a waterproof pant with a good denier fabric.

Hits: If you go into these pants, knowing they are three season waterproof, and won't be spending much time in them above that 80/85 degree threshold, you will be extremely happy with this bit of gear. There is just about everything I want out of an overpant w/o having more than is necessary for a commute/adv type scenario.

Misses:
The gaitors around the legs take additional time to get into that I just don't want to spend. Getting into and out of the pant would be a better experience if they weren't there and I don't know if they add that much to this already great pant. If I could remove them that would be just outstanding, but they are integrated into each leg. They should have been velcro attached or something similar so that the user could chose to use them or not. Lastly, for a pant in this range (and the jacket for that matter), it should come with a thermal liner. The absence of the thermal is a disappointment and adds to the cost if you want to ensure comfort. That said, being able to chose a thermal layer allows you the ability to leverage it as a destination pant. Still, a thermal option that tightly integrates into the pant would have been welcome.

My stats: I am 5' 6" with a 30" inseam. I weigh in at 160 lbs and have an average build. I landed on the medium jacket and the 34S pants which fit nearly perfect. They are just big enough that they allow me to layer but not so big that I look a mess.

Would I buy again? Definitely.

Just not made for me
I must start out with the fact that I like my clothes to be a bit on the baggy or loose side. These pants reminded me of the tight jeans that kids are wearing cause boy were they tight around my legs even though they fit perfectly around my waist. I don't know how these could be described as an over-pant as I could not wear jeans or sweatpants under them without the pants feeling like they were strangling me. They were not that comfortable in the sit position which didn't make much sense as that is what they are built for. I did like the full length zipper down the side but if the pants don't fit just right on your leg then they bunch up around the knee and make the velcro tough to reattach which may lead to water being able to enter. Also I don't see the side zipper being a solution for venting and the pants were rather warm just wearing them around the house. I think some people might like these pants but like I said above, they were just not made for me.

Not happy with this purchase.
I bought this Kilimanjaro jacket and pants. The jacket is a pretty nice piece. I'm not so thrilled with the pants though. Here's my quick summary on each:

Jacket - The jacket fits pretty true to size. I'm a 42L suit, size Large in T-shirts, and this jacket in Large fits well. I have room for a heavy fleece underneath if it's cool. The finish of the jacket feels pretty high quality. My only complaint at this point is that I'm not too excited about the venting. Protection is pretty good. Good fabrics. The air and chest vents don't open up well or flow much air, and the shoulder vents catch a lot of air and make the jacket flap, but also don't seem to flow much air. 8.5/10 - Would buy again at this budget.

Pants - I don't have much good to say. I wear 34 in all jeans and dress pants. I bought 36 in these to be overpants, and that has worked okay albeit a little on the short side. (I'm 6'0") They don't fit over MX boots - Too tight. Forgot to check that before wearing them... There is literally NO venting on these pants, other than the outside zips which run the full length of the legs, but can't really function as vents. The butt pockets are goofy and pointless. No storage otherwise. No zip on the fly so you gotta take'em down. I'm pretty disappointed to be honest... 2/10, would NOT buy again.

Great Fitting Pants that Keep Out the Rain
I typically wear Levi's in a size 38 waist and 34 inch inseam. I ordered a size 38 Tall. They fit perfectly. I wore these pants for a 2150 mile ride, to include 400 miles in pouring down rain. The pants were very comfortable and kept me dry at highway speeds. I liked the suspenders. I kept my wallet in the outside leg pocket and it stayed dry.

The pants are a little difficult for a quick bathroom stop. There is a front gusset along the fly that is there to keep the rain out and it does an excellent job at that. The design, however, requires a guy to not only unsnap the front, open the zipper...but also to unhook one of the suspenders to slide the pants down. This is not a design flaw, it is the cost of doing business. I drove highway speeds in heavy rain for 400 miles in 39 degree weather and I stayed dry--just expect a little bit of gymnastics at the urinal. I'd buy these again.

What is the best way to adjust the knee pads on these pants? What is the optimal position? I love the pants, but I am having trouble adjusting the pads to cover my knees while I'm seated and while I'm kneeling (when I'm standing, the top of the pads are more or less on the reflex point of my knee). Advice?
