Dynojet Power Commander V Honda Shadow VT750

The Dynojet Power Commander V is a vital first step into the world of motorcycle fuel tuning. The ability to adjust your motorcycle’s fuel map is vital if you have added a high-flow air filter, aftermarket exhaust system or smog block-off plates. All of these modifications will, in some way, alter the air/fuel ratio in your engine. The Dynojet PCV, with its microprocessors and PCV Software, allows you to adjust your motorcycle’s fuel map up to +250%/-100% to ensure an optimal setting. Dynojet offers a large database of free, downloadable maps for many combinations of motorcycles and aftermarket parts.

If an available map does not suit your specific needs, a custom map can be built from the ground up with the aid of a Dyno. Furthermore, a fuel map can be customized on a per gear, per RPM and per throttle position basis. Both street and track riders will benefit from from the PCV. For example, a daily commuter may find it beneficial to have a low end torque map while the club racer would benefit from a smooth and peak power map.

The Dynojet Power Commander is the most well known fuel controller on the market, thanks for its capabilities and versatility. Take a look around the paddock at a track day, club racing event or AMA event, you will see the Power Commander V dominating the field.

I installed this on my Honda Shadow Phantom 750. It's an EFI ride, I got it so I could go on rides with my wife who has a Shadow Spirit '07 Carb. I was disappointed with the Phantoms power (total and the curve), which IMO was much softer than the '07 Carb. Couldn't let my wife dust me so I decided to bite the $bullet. I installed Vance & Hines Short Shots mufflers. Made it sound badass but if anything it maybe dinged the performance a little. I was told I'd have to do the whole package, so I saved my peanuts and got the Cobra PowrFlo Air Intake and the Power Commander V (I had a mechanic install the PCV. I could have done it but the Throttle Position Sensor tap looked a little tricky and instructions called for a two man install - didn't want to mess with it). I was told I could expect a 5-10% boost, probably mostly in the low end. Well I think I got at least a 10% boost but mostly in the mid to high end. The whole range is much smoother and sounds better. This bike would struggle for 75mph before, now I can hold 80 easily and pull it up to 85 or 90 if I need a burst. Acceleration from 50 - 75 is also very quick. It's the bike I was hoping for though the price tag was a little steep.

I am thinking about buying the power commander V, is it wise to go a head and also buy the auto tune kit with the power commander. its for a 2009 Honda Shadow 750 stage 2 jets, Hyprecharger, and straight pipe exhaust?
