Spring for the Armor...
I had a lowside going over 100mph with these pants on. Let's just say they did there job. I could not believe they didn't get more shredded. Important to note that I had the armor inserts as well. If you get beyond the fact they are very comfortable and some of the most stylish pants you can cruise around town in; well hey, they will literally save your butt too... And knees, and hips. The right leg of the pant got a little chewed up right around the knee area, but at the very minimum you would expect that right? Held up as good as textile... Maybe even better.

Decent casual pants
Good looking pants, but they don't really offer any protection. The "armor" is a joke and constantly wads up so it has to be adjusted. If you have large legs look somewhere else. I can hardly swing my legs over my bike wearing these. After 6 months or so of riding, the tight fit is causing the seams in the crotch to fail.

Great style but questionable protection
I got the Dainese Yamato EVO pants along with the pro-shape knee and hip armor.

I agree with the previous reviewer--I don't know how these pants would fare in a crash. The armor pockets shift around a lot and are anchored in only a couple places. I wonder if they would rip off on impact. The hip armor pockets are way small--even too small for the dainese pro shape hip armor. I'm also not confident these will fare any better than a pair of jeans as far as abrasion resistance is concerned.

I wouldn't recommend these if they are going to be your only riding pants, but I would recommend them if you are looking for riding pants that can pass as everyday casual pants. These are among the best I've found so far in that regard.

super nice pants
Love these pants, they fit true to size, durable (although I don't know how well they'll hold up during a crash). and comes with enough pockets and no belt needed. they look great and you can wear these anywhere without looking awkward. very stylish.

Great features but runs a little short
Inseam is too short. The size 52 inseam is a little short for me. I'm 6'1 and usually wear a 32 inseam. The Dainese size chart says a 52 has a 32.8 inseam but it is a bit too short for me. I like the other features so I will keep the pants and have the hem let out.

One of the best looking pair of casual pants...but
This have got to be the best looking pair of pants i have ever bought. I love the tilted vent pockets, they make these pants look unique and practical. The cut and fit of these pants are made for the slimmer type, not too baggy and not too tight. The waist adjustments is also noteworthy as they are a really nice touch for those of you that don't like wearing belts, such as myself.

However, judging from the feel of these pants and fabric, i cannot see how these pants can be good for riding. I put it up to a light bulb and i can see some light shining through, there is no way this fabric can protect your skin, no way it can hold up to even a one second slide.

I get that these are casual pants for comfort and riding around town, with minimal protection, but to say these are riding pants they need to at least put thicker material around the impact zones if not kevlar, at least the knees and hip. The protection is non existent, except for some pockets for some soft inserts, which doesn't even fit the standard sized CE hip pads. I managed to get the knee pads in with some stretching and force, but for the 140 bucks you pay for this, it should at least be kevlar lined or pre-woven in with the cotton.

As much as I love these pants, i would not trust riding with these. I did not return these however, just because they look so dammed good and i can wear them when i go places with my car.

Also note: the sand color pair as mentioned by another reviewer, looks nothing like the color in the picture, it is so dark that it should be classified more as dark tan or a light brown kind of color. It looks more like the green version in the picture than the sand. I swear it looks like they sent me the wrong color.

Practically no armor
The only reason I have not returned these pants is because I like the fit. I have very muscular thighs and most of the "straight" cut pants are too tight for me. These are spot-on. They are also well built like the rest of Dainese lineup.

The only gripe I have with this garment is the lack of armor. There are two very small pockets for optional knee armor and that's it. The pockets are so small that I can't fit any aftermarket armor in there. I can't even squeeze in Forcefield shoulder pads in. That being said, in an event of a fall, those tiny, optional Dainese knee pads will shift and leave my knees exposed. What I found stupid, it that back pockets could have been easily placed to house additional, optional hip or butt armor, but they placed the pockets so that they cover the exact areas that never get hit during a fall.

I'd recommend this product for regular daily wear but not for any type of protection. Whoever designed them should go back to being a fashion designer.

Not bad but I was expecting a bit more for the money...
The fit, for me, is small. The lack of belt loops makes the pants look like expensive, REI hiking pants. Because of the small fit, I likely won't be using the armor anytime soon. The stitching and build quality seems good. They look OK (minus the cheap, built-in belt). I've only put 100 miles on them so I can't vouch for long-term durability. They are a mild disappointment for the money but not so much so that I will return or decline to wear them.

Nice pants, mediocre protection
First, the facts. As a 190lb, 6ft tall person, I find that ordering pants with just one size aspect can lead to pants that are too short or too loose, but the size 54 fits perfectly. The velcro adjustable waist is great and the length allows the hem to sit right across the top of my boot when standing.
These pants are quite stylish, says the guy who usually wears cargo pants from Old Navy under some Icon overpants. They also provide much better airflow than overpants over cargo pants. They are comfortable and soft to the touch.
The only two bad things is that the knee pads shift around throughout the day and I doubt they would provide much protection in a low side slide.
So, good fit, good finish, a modicum of protection and shifty knee pads. But, yeah, I'd buy them again.

Great looking and provide some protection
I think the description given by revzilla is spot on for these pants and the pads fit great and will help in a slide. If anyone expects top level protection from these then they are not following the review. They look great and the one reviewer who seems to have really tested them gave them a real thumbs up. Great product that does what it says.
