Jacket size runs way small
I have a Dainese textile jacket and ordered this one the same size 54. The Prima 72 fit at least two sizes too small so I sent it back. Which is a shame as I was really excited. The jacket did look great, had good protective features and was of quality you would expect from Dainese. I was afraid if I ordered another larger size to fit my shoulders and arms the sleeve and torso would be way big.

No better value out there
These seem to run pretty small so size up for sure. You can feel the quality the moment you touch it. Has crash pads in the elbows and shoulders which is a huge bonus. At this price it’s worth picking one up! Such a nice jacket

Great jacket...amazing price!
Probably the last thing I needed was another jacket, actually that’s not true...I don’t own a fully leather jacket so I guess I did need it!.
When I saw this Dainese jacket for a ridiculously great price...I jumped in. This jacket is spectacular. The quality is shocking. Thanks Revzilla for another great deal.

Good Urban Jacket/ very good value
Dainese introduced the Settantaduo series of jackets to celebrate their 1972 origins. The Prima 72 is a very low-keyed, street casual jacket, focused more on clean lines/style than hard core sport oriented features. With that in mind, the Prima 72 is a fantastic value with the sale price (I took advantage of the killer one-day sale price and ordered three Prima 72 in solid leather for myself and two sons). As I mentioned, the jacket made some concessions for style vs. function; being a sport rider here are my observations:

Fit: This jacket is a Eurofit/slim and fits a bit smaller. My application was for the smaller/shorter/athletic side, the sizing worked well for us. We purchased three sizes in 46, 48 and 50 matching our respective fits 37" chest/29" waist/135lbs., 39" chest/30" waist/145lbs, and 40" chest/ 32" waist/155 lbs.
The sleeves and body length are a couple of inches long for our heights ranging from 5'5" to 5'8", especially trying in the bent sport riding position; the cut is for more upright riding.

Materials: The jacket is a medium weight, semi-sheen, pebble grained leather, very soft/supple out of the box. Compared to more traditional smooth motorcycle leather (i.e. Vanson), this looks more like casual wear in the pebble grain finish and lighter weight leather. The pebble grain finish is a matter of taste, the embossed grain pattern looks a tad artificial (i.e.used to cover up surface imperfections), just wanted to mention it,
The external zippers are black #5 YKK Nylon for main body, sleeves and two slash chest pockets. IMHO, these zippers should have been covered by zipper covers; these clunky zippers are unfortunately fully exposed and an eyesore for a jacket that should otherwise look more sleek/refined.
The mesh liner in main body and smooth polyester in arms are a good choice (I ride in warm weather).
The Velcro collar tab closure is convenient but out of the retro character (snaps would have been better). And the collar tab should have added a fold back feature to avoid flapping in the wind (if collar is open, which is the majority of the time)

Features/style: The style of the jacket is simple, sleek and unadorned. The hand warmer pockets integrates into the vertical body seams, but unfortunately there are no zippers (style vs. function, bad call on Dainese's part). Nice details with the rolled collar and elbow patches.
One more thing about the diagonal chest zippers: IMHO, they are ugly being too long, too exposed and even worse, don't really help on the ventilation (the airflow behind the zipper is minimal at best). An example of a design feature that looked great on paper, but fails by poor execution; the jacket would have been much better without the over-featured chest pockets.

Armor: I really like the Dainese low profile Pro Armor system in the elbow and shoulder, it projects a slim silhouette keeping with a more urban theme. The rear back pocket is pretty roomy and can fit a back protector of your choice. I personally use a D30 level 1 (men's size), it conforms nicely and becomes invisible. For this more causal purpose, the Prima 72 is fine.

Conclusion: Overall, a very nice, casual motorcycle jacket and a great value at the sale price. Not perfect but a nice addition to anyone's gear list (if it fits).

Fantastic, Affordable Dainese Jacket
Bought this jacket on mega clearance ($249.99) and it turned out to be the nicest piece of clothing I have ever owned. The leather is perfect in thickness and the venting allows for it to be worn as a warm weather jacket for hot days. It’s also minimally branded, and I can wear it into work in an office building rather inconspicuously. The padding is comfortable and flexible and I have no doubt it will prevent injury if downed on the street. For its purpose and price point, this is an unbeatable jacket!

My only complaint is there is a velcro tab by the collar that feels a little tacky and unnecessary. Other than that, it’s both a great-looking and great-performing product.

Wow, simply wow!
This jacket just arrived in the mail, it was an impulse buy, as I could not pass it up given the substantially discounted price it was being offered at. Admittedly, I’m a Dianese junky, as this is the only jacket brand I’ll buy now, in fact I’ve purchased four Dianese jackets over the last seven months.

The quality of this jacket is as I expected, top notch. I wanted a non-perforated leather motorcycle jacket that was stylish enough I could wear out and about and this one is definitely stylish enough to fill this need. With its CE rated Pro Armor in the shoulders and elbows, and the option of adding a back protector, this jacket will definitely provide adequate crash protection, should the need arise. As a side note, the armor in the shoulder and elbow area is not so overbearing that it becomes intrusive in a social setting, as you barely know it’s even there.

This jacket is fantastic!
Great cold weather jacket. Zero wind shear at 120 and I mean NONE. Depending on your summer temperatures the Prima 72 may be unusable during the hotter months.

The leather is thick, nice, strong, and beautiful. This jacket has some weight to it. The weight isn't an issue while wearing it or riding, but you wouldn't want to carry it for long.

All of the zippers seem extremely sturdy and the pockets are large enough to access with gloved hands if you wear about a size 10-12 or less.

The jacket has good mobility, is non restrictive, and has minimal branding outside of two miniscule italian flags and the Dianese logo between the shoulders.

The back protector pocket is large and secures well. It can easily hold a G2. The inner mesh feels nice and the collar of the jacket is stiff, so it won't droop and scoop while you're riding on cold nights.

Right now its under $300 on closeout. This feels like a $700 jacket all day. If you've been looking for a leather riding jacket you can qear off the bike as well...this thing is a no brainer.

Nice!
I stumbled upon this jacket and it was on sale. Looked great online and when it arrived looked even better. This is a badass leather jacket you can wear on the town. Then slip a Back protector in there and go riding. I ordered one size up and that still feels Snug. It’s the look I was going for however are usually do it in a 52 but had to go with a 54. Looks great with my not too sporty Ducati Diavel.

Great jacket for this price
Great jacket, there are 2 issues for me: sleeves are a bit wide (need to wear glover over sleeves), Dainese Manis D1 G2 could not fit to the back protector bag, proceed with Alpinestars Nuckleon. Asked Dianese for recommended back protector for this jacket, waiting for responce.
