Dainese Women's Pony C2 Perforated Leather Pants

The Dainese Women's Pony C2 Pants are inspired by Dainese's racing offerings, but with a much less aggressive fit and a look appropriate for the street. Constructed from perforated cowhide leather and generous S1 stretch panels, the Pony Pants do not lack in the safety department with composite protectors at  the knees and Pro-Shape soft protectors at the hips.

Note: We have found that the Pony C2 Pants run 1 size small in the hips.  Also, leather pants such as the Pony are meant to have a snug fit.

  • Composite protectors certified to EN 1621.1 Standard
  • Pro Shape soft protectors certified to Standard EN 1621.1 at sides
  • Pants certified to CE Category - 89/686/EEC Directive

Ergonomics and Comfort:

  • Cowhide leather
  • S1 fabric
  • Elasticated inserts
  • Double calf zip
  • Jacket-trousers fastening system
  • Sanitized lining
  • Localized perforation

  • 2 outside pockets
  • Denoted as Dainese P. Pony C2 Pelle Estivo Lady in Dainese catalog

First impressions; will update after more use.
My second pair of Ponys arrived today. I had to return the first pair because I couldn't even get them over my knees. Despite taking my measurements very carefully and choosing an appropriate size based on their sizing chart, the 42s were EXTREMELY small. I'm 5'9 and 130lbs and the 44 fits me extremely well. So I recommend going a size up.

The shin and knee protection is exceptional, with solid armor running mose of the way down your shin from the knee. There also seems to be some padding in the hip areas for protection which I like.

The style of these is great. They are clean and minimal with flattering lines and details (the stretch panels are amazing).

I've been wearing them around the house all day to break them in, and so far there seems to be one glaring problem with the design; the waist really digs into your stomach if you are not reclined or standing. Even sitting at a 90 degree angle at a desk chair, the front waist band goes under my ribcage, while the back of the waist hangs open, showing my buttcheeks.

These pants are obviously designed for street riding and sportier bikes with standard to sport positioning (not cruiser gear) and yet they only seem comfortable in a reclined position. If you are sitting straight up in standard or crouched over your tank, you're going to have a bad time. It just baffles me that the waist band isn't designed with a dip in the front and more tailoring in the back to keep these simple issues from being big problems.

I tried to sit on my bike and it was pretty difficult to get a leg over. The knees are fairly flexible thanks to the expandable panels over the knees, but again, the waist band is a big issue.

This is an early review, as I wanted to get this up here incase any ladies wanted to order these now that they're back in stock. I will update after I've been for a few rides in them.

Overall I love the look of them, and the rest of the pants fit like a dream. I'm definitely keeping them and may just look into getting them tailored (there's a tailor up north of me that specializes in Dainese gear) down the line. Hopefully the waist issue will be helped by wear, or maybe I'll be able to adjust my positioning on my bike to compensate, like keeping my torso very straight and just leaning forward.
