Awesome. Fit perfectly.
Juan P on Jun 24, 2017
Still attempting to get the correct size. Large in the 56 and not certain whether a 52 or 54 is right for me. Ordered both and will send one back, plus the 56 ... Really appreciate the option of mailing back those items that don't work for me. Still spending a great deal of money, but as Revzilla can see from the past 5 years. Scooter has been generous with expenditures...
Scott C on Jun 15, 2017

These are my first riding pants and I'm learning how to ride. I chose these pants because I've read textile pants are better than kevlar jeans. And these were the only textile pants which would go best with a cafe rider leather jacket and boots, IMO.
Raul E on Oct 17, 2016
What can i say i love all that is Italian ! Great products
Art B on Oct 13, 2016
Best slim fitting and technical pants out there!
William L on Oct 11, 2016
best vented summer pants with good protection
C E on Sep 30, 2016
Great pants. These pants have armor in all the right places and are not too baggy. They are on the hotter side for summer rides, however I feel fully protected every time I go out in these. These pants are extremely well made and I would recommend these pants to anyone looking for a stylish, fully armored pair of riding pants. These are a major step up from any pair of riding jeans.
Reginald N on Sep 29, 2016
Great protection that I am willing to wear in humid and hot weather.

Dainese makes great products, I already had a mesh jacket and I wanted a pair of pants that I could connect with it and would breath better the my other pants. So far they have done that job.

Is the hip padding removable? Can I replace them with something more protective?
Terrance S on Apr 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They are not replaceable or removable, unless you cut them out. It's really a dumb design in that sense. For some reason the knee pads are replaceable but not the hip pads are not. Maybe somebody can explain genius behind that design.
I'd like to know about the protection, how good it is? knee guards are long enough to cover your shin as in the dainese street tracker?
i know hip-sliders are made out of foam but will they protect me in the event of a fall?
A shopper on Dec 7, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I low sided doing about 35 mph, impact on left side, knee first, then hip. The shin and knee armor worked very well. It absorbed the impact completely. The only damage I received was caused by the aluminum waist adjuster. it scraped along my hip, leaving a very large bruise, and some akin abrasion. That was the only injury I received.
The fabric of the pants prevented road rash, but after inspection I noticed it was torn the whole way thru. I don't honestly know if the hips pads impacted or not, but either way, i walked away with nothing more then a large bruise and superficial scrapes. For what it's worth, I purchased another pair of the pants the same week. I have not found anything that provides the same level of protection and functionality in a warm weather pant
I wear tsx short boots, so I don't need to be showing leg whilst going 80mph.
A shopper on May 2, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Whoa, momma! You can't be getting all risqu?© up and down the highway. Besides being just plain crude, showing some leg isn't the best thing when you start sliding on the asphalt. Dainese makes some stylish gear - Steve Urkel wouldn't be caught dead in the New Drakes. They don't ride up very high (higher than normal jeans, but nothing like Urkel).

What's more is that these New Drakes have a slim, Euro cut - great for guys on the tall side of the spectrum. It's still a good idea to get your inseam measurement and compare that to our size chart though, just to be sure.

Oh, and not to be a stickler, but Steve Urkel is from Family Matters, not the Fresh Prince of Bel Air (that's Will Smith). Normally I wouldn't bring it up, but I'm a big Fresh Prince fan. So much of a fan, actually, that I wrote this short history of RevZilla to the rhyme and meter of the Fresh Prince song:

---

Now this is the story all about how

the Z-L-A army turned things upside down

and I'd like to take a minute - just sit right there,

I'll tell you how we became one badass shop in moto retail.

---

In Old City Philadelphia born and raised,

A can of spray-paint was the first thing that paid,

chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool,

all above the retail shop outside of the school.

When a couple of guys, they were up to somethin' good,

started makin' trouble in the moto 'hood.

They got in one little fight and B. Van declared:

"Z-L-A is way cooler than Sportbike Track Gear"

--

They whistled for a cab and when it came near

license plate said "ZLA Army" and had bikes in the mirror

If anything I could say that this cab was rare--

but they thought "nah, forget it - let's blaze us a trail!"

--

They pulled up to the shop around 2013

and yelled to the cabby "Yo Van, smell you later."

Looked at the new space, they were finally there--

Sittin' on the thrones as the kings of retail.
Based on the size chart, I am one size for hips, one size for waist. I can't see splitting the difference. I note the waist size is adjustable on the pants. Can anyone comment on how many inches/centimeters the pants can be adjusted smaller or larger?
Greg M on Mar 25, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I wear a size 52 in the New Drake Air Pants. They are a little large as my waist is 34 inches, however if I go smaller the inseam is too short. I have a 33 inch inseam. Also the pants are very form fitting. Anything smaller would have been very tight on the calves and other areas. As far as the waist, they easily adjust 1 inch smaller on each side. I only have mine pulled in approximately 1/4 of an inch on each side.
I'm looking for good riding pants I can wear "stand alone", not as overpants. These seem to be fitting the bill, but I just wanted to make sure: would they be comfortable if I were to use them as pants (during the summer that is)?

Thanks!
A shopper on Mar 9, 2012
BEST ANSWER: The Dainese New Drake Air Textile pants are 'stand alone' riding pants, not overpants. They are also very comfortable.
What would be a better pick, what would you recommend?
This or Tempest D-Dry? I need versitility because this will be my only pants for now.. How are they compared by brethability and usable temperature span?
A shopper on Jul 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These are definitely not waterproof if that's an issue. However, I haven't had a problem using them in any other situation. They get hot in traffic, but any pant would. They're not perforated, so obviously not the best for summer, but I've used them in 90+ temps without issue. Even good in the winter with some long johns underneath.
There is a 50 (Short) option, but the sizing chart does not mention the inseam for it.
50 Regular is 32.3 inches, can anyone throw some light?
Im 5'8' 160 lbs, jeans sizing 32/30; I'd be better of with size 48 Reg / 50 Short?
Jitesh V on Jul 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The 50 short is a 30 inseam. I'm 5'9" and wear a 34/31 normally. I ordered a 52 short and the fit me pretty well. They might be a smig shorter than expected but I was very happy with the fit.
Interested in these pants but not sure exactly what size to get. I wear 32x34 slim levi jeans. I'm 6'2 and weigh 165 pants. I'm just concerned about getting pants that aren't long enough or too big on the waist. What size would you recommend?
A S on Mar 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You're best best is a size 50 tall. I'm the same size as you and it's still a little short in the leg, but most pants are.
I have a sizing question that I hope someone can answer. I'm about 5'8", about 160 lbs., with a slightly athletic build, but leg heavy from bicycling. When my wife measured me earlier today, she came up with a waist of 36", hips at 38.5", and an inseam of 29". I normally wear a 33x30 in Levi's and they are relaxed at that size, not snug. Based on everything but the waist measurement, I was thinking about ordering a size 50 (which also happens to be my jacket size in Dainese), but the waist measurement makes me wonder whether I need a 52. I'm concerned about going up a size and ending up with the knee armor sitting to low on my legs, since my inseam is on the short side for both sizes. What do people who own these pants think? I'm curious which way the side adjustments move the measurements from the recommendations on the sizing chart. Basically, is the waist adjustment for making the waist tighter from the Dainese sizing chart or can it make it looser? Thanks!
A shopper on Aug 14, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Some how I missed this email sorry it wasn't responded to sooner. Hope this helps, I cycle about a hundred miles a week and also have a athletic build and struggle with sizing. I have found in motorcycling gear dainese fits athletic builds the best, with their European sizing. I'm 6,1 180 with a 42.5 chest 33 waist and 34 inseam with large quadriceps. I've found the truest fit for me being 54 in everything dainese, upper and lower. I could go a size down and everything would fit tighter but the length of sleeves and pants would be off. So my trade off is having to tighten everything down to the max. I wouldn't worry as much about the waist not fitting because it is highly adjustable, ESP out. Hope that is a point of reference and helps some.
I'm looking for a pair of pants to wear for commuting to/from work, meaning I'd like to wear them over my jeans. Would these pants be too tight?
A shopper on Apr 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They would likely be too tight in my opinion. At the right size these are pretty form fitting. You could maybe try going many sizes up and see if it would work, but would probably still be a pain getting in and out of. Honestly tho for commuting, I'd look at a pair of actual overpants that zip from hip to ankle.
