You're paying for style...I like style!
First things first, this should not be your one and only jacket. If you need a do everything, get a good textile.

This jacket has one major and one minor purpose.

The major - it looks bloody amazing.Wearing this jacket automatically adds 48% to your awesome level. Expect to be groped by the eyes of a thousand clamoring women. The leather is soft, supple and smooth. Seriously, put it up against your face, smell it...maybe lick it. I aim to take long walks on the beach with this jacket, gaze into its understated Dainese logos, smell every crevice and touch every stitch. I wish I could do all that right now...this minute! Alas, I cannot - I am wearing my Revit Outback jacket. A jacket which is functionally far superior, definitely more versatile and not a bad looker either.

You see what I'm getting at. The Dainese Mike jacket is gorgeous, but its purpose is too look good. Throw it on and ride around the city, treat it to jazz at the art gallery and dinner at a Spanish Tapas bar but don't you dare commute on her, splatter her with bug goo or road grime. Just don't! Treat her like the lady she is...Actually, this jacket is no longer the Dainese Mike, she is the Dainese Mikaela jacket. Mikaela doesn't make sense. She doesn't do anything very well, but by Thor's Almighty Hammer...she is a Goddess. (see photo - Revzilla, don't remove ;)).

Oh, and its minor purpose is that she provides some protection. Not much at all though.

Do you want style? Because this is how you get style.
I bought this jacket for nights out on the town with the bike. Previously I would have to wear my track jacket, which is fantastic for a day on the track. Eh, not the best choice when you want to take a lovely lady out for dinner and dancing. This jacket is subtle and sexy.

The protection is less than you'll find in some of the other Dainese jackets. But you are buying it primarily for style with some protection, not for protection with some style. Also the leather is not perforated, so its not going to flow a ton of air. Not something you want to wear in extreme heat. I actually love that its a bit warmer. Great for riding at night in the SoCal area as its always fairly cool along the coast at night.

The leather is so soft it's like being wrapped in a thousand kittens.

finally
This may get me banned from Revzilla, but I ordered 8 jackets and returned all of them before I got the Mike leather jacket and finally found the jacket for me. I tried not only leather, but various mesh and textile jackets before this worked for me, in looks, style, fit, comfort. This jacket is very understated. The shoulder pads are virtually non-existent, very flexible, thin, and completely under the radar. The sizing is spot on chart-wise. I am 5'7" 145lbs and got the 48. Perfect. I do want to warn that the fit around the biceps/elbows is very tight. I am in no way buff, I'd say very average, and when I make a 90 deg bend, its very tight. Leather loosens so Im not worried, but if youre muscular, I dunno... The jacket looks more dull/matte than the pics #I got the brown#. I don't mind that at all, but just fyi. Great jacket, after 8 returns #lol# I got what I wanted. Kudo's to Revzilla for their very very liberal return policy.

Almost Perfect
This jacket is everything you would expect from an Italian designer using quality craftsmanship. The stitching is bulletproof, the cut is impeccable, and the logo on the neck is more subtle than the pictures would lead you to believe. The brown is closer to the image of the back (fairly dark). The armor is light and does not detract from the styling of the jacket. The liner is comfortable (but not removable) though I haven't ridden in it. My only complaint, and the reason I'm returning the jacket, is the neck.

It's loose, too loose. The base is wider than the top and the top is much wider than your neck. I'm 5'11", 185 with an athletic build and got the 52. Everything on the jacket fit like a dream EXCEPT the neck. If it wasn't for the price of the jacket and the fact that it immediately caught my eye, I would be keeping it. If this one thing doesn't bother you, it is an amazing jacket and I can't find any other reason to give it less than a 4 overall.

I love it!
I recently tried the Mike and Razon from Dainese. I wanted something that looks good off the bike, with some protection. I liked the Razon but it was a bit too bulky to appear like a normal jacket. Maybe once properly broken into it would have fit better but I didn't want to have to wait... So I went with the Mike.

The leather is a bit thin, but absolutely beautiful and soft to the touch! It really look like a premium leather jacket for everyday use. The protection is minimal, but enough for city speed. If I had to commute on the highway everyday with it I would have taken the Razon.

3D buddle lining works great. I wear it with a sweater down to 2-5 degrees celcius, and I know from experience that I can wear it in the summer no problem.

I wear size 48 and am 1m80, 76kg.

Awesome Jacket
This is a prime example of "you get what you pay for". It's pricey but it's safe and it looks great. I went one European size down from what I thought I needed since riding jackets should be snug and it's perfect in riding position. A bit tight for just hanging out when it's zipped but not bad. I picked up the dark brown version in European size 48 - I'm 5'11" and about 165lbs, pretty slim build.

The belt strap at the rear is great, prevents it from riding up when you're leaning over. The inside material is scratchy at first but wears into a comfy "micro-climate" design. Blocks pretty much 100% of wind but it isn't waterproof at all.

All-in-all, if you're on the fence - buy it! You seriously can't go wrong.

cool cow!
I was looking for a leather jacket that I could also wear going out in town without looking like a guy that just got off his bike. I have worn Dainese suits, two-piece and one-piece, for many years on my bike and was never disappointed (granted, the older ones appear thicker and the stitching is better but the new ones are more high-techy).
This jacket checks all my boxes: very soft leather, moderate shine, cool cut, enough pockets for a guy - it has it all. I love wearing it and have gotten complaints from day 1 on - even in a cool clothing store in Soho!
In terms of sizes I was not sure if I should take 50 or 52. A quick call to revzilla helped me go for 52 - the right choice (184cm, jeans size 32, 186 pounds). All in all, a great jacket!

2 Year Owner -- frays and breaks
I'm not sure if Dainese is still selling this jacket but here's my review. The Jacket looks friggin' cool. I know many riders will shame me but my buddy and I always add a review category when making new purchases and that is "Cool Factor". This thing is cool.

The jacket is non perforated and it can get quite hot in the summer. I would have sacrificed some "cool points" for perforated leather in hindsight. However, the leather is extremely soft and very comfortable. The interior lining is light and comfortable and the protection is flexible and non-rigid. It does offer some decent protection despite its flexibility. The jacket just feels great to wear.

Okay, the biggest downside and reason I give this jacket an overall 3 stars instead of 4 is the Durability. I've had the jacket for 2 years and it's seen what I would consider light use. There are noticeable frays in the seams around the wrist, zipper and base stitching of the jacket. The frays are tolerable and can easily be snipped with some scissors. However, the main zipper just broke on my jacket. It was my first longer ride of the year (4-5 hours) and I had to stay unzipped! After calling around the US for a replacement OMNI zipper, I found it near impossible to restore the jacket to it's original state without losing it for weeks, possibly even months! I decided to buy a replacement YKK zipper locally and have a leather shop fix the coat for $35. Either way, the entire process was extremely frustrating and I wish that Dainese would've invested in a more substantial zipper for a $600 jacket.

Overall, cool factor - 10, protection durability 3. I'm somewhere between a 3 and 4 star review because of the zipper issue but the cool factor, comfort and style of the jacket are unmatched and I've had the luxury of trying many jackets on as I live down the road from Revzilla in Philadelphia.

Thanks,

Very light, very comfortable, and very stylish!

This is a beautiful jacket. Great for shorter rides but probably less suited for commuting as it isn't very rugged.vi

Cool as a cucumber
I've had this jacket for quite a while now and it's still just as stylish as the day I got it, perhaps more so now that I've broken it in. That's what this jacket does best, albeit at the cost of air flow. There are no vents of any kind. There are gussets on the sleeves that you can open but that's really it. You'll be pretty sweaty if you wear this on a warm day. However, Dianese's proprietary liner actually does a pretty decent job in the cold. I've worn this sub-freezing with nothing but a t-shirt underneath. I won't say I was toasty but it was enough to keep me from shivering.

The stock protection is adequate, but for $550 you'd think Dianese could afford to throw in the back protector. The shoulder pads are easily removable as they are just attached via very strong velcro. The elbow pads however are a bitch to put in and take out, if you plan wearing this on the town after riding, you'd just be better leaving the elbow armor in. There is also a belt loop snap attachment but to be honest if you get the right size you really won't need to use it.

I haven't really done any leather maintenance on it since I got it but the leather is still incredibly supple and hasn't dried out at all. It does seem to be a little bit thinner leather than some other jackets but it helps keep it looking slim and fashionable. Kinda the sacrifice you make if you want look good. Be warned however that the liner on the inside is kinda scratchy against bare skin for the first few wears. After that it's comfortable, although I honestly wish they had just given us a regular removable thermal/comfort liner, like flannel or something. Also, no interior pockets aside from one napoleon pocket and the outer pockets are weirdly small. I could fit my gloves in them but the had to be bunched up pretty tight.

As for sizing, I'm 5'7" 130lbs and I got the 44. It's a little wide in the shoulders without the armor in but with it in it fits perfect. Nice and tight without being super constricting. For my fellow small dudes, this is kinda the only QUALITY leather jacket I could find that fit my size.

TL;DR Sexy jacket that is good for around town riding but gets hot on warm days. also no included back armor is ridiculous for the price. Would buy again.
