Nice Fall Jacket (/SoCal Winter Jacket)
Choices: Dainese Mike, Heston, Bryan

Requirements: Fall/Winter riding, no big logos, clean cut lines, no metal/plastic shoulders, no buckles, snaps/buttons for sleeves/waist adjustments.

Background info: Live in SoCal (Disneyland/Irvine commute), the weather here is a sunny 351 days out of the year = perpetual golf/riding season. I am 5'6, 145 lb, athletic cut. I wear a 38R/40S, 30/30 in pants, 15-16/32-33 in dress shirt. I ride a Panigale 899.

Fit: I purchased a 48 (my other Dainese textile is a 48 also). Its roomy enough for layering = t shirt + dress shirt + (included) liner, could probably wear a light sweater + liner and still feel comfy. Tested this with a t shirt and no liner with 60-75 degree weather and its so comfy/toasty, you forget all the days troubles. The video for this jacket shows Anthony saying ignore this jacket if you're a sport bike rider because of the full collar, I just roll the collar down; truth be told though, the collar is so supple and soft that it really doesn't matter.

Style and Comfort: Love the brown, as Mani C said in his review, the leather is ridiculously soft. I was not expecting something so soft (its not waxed leather - as in the Mike Jacket) but don't expect a leather out of a Clint Eastwood western. Because the leather is so soft, its so comfortable, it doesn't "feel" like a leather jacket - form fitting tight.

Protection: Haven't had to test the 1.2 mil leather(?), hopefully Dainese or Revzilla can get UL labs or someone ISO certified to test abrasion. I will say this. For the size (48), do not get the G2. Dainese/Revzilla has sized their back protection G1 - women's, G2 - men's. This is grossly inaccurate. It should be as follows: G1 = small/medium, G2 = large/xLarge. Sure, I can squeeze a G2 into a Bryan 48 but its (super) tight and warps the jacket. You WILL look like a dude from Norte Dame wearing this jacket with a G2 insert. If you're a 50 or 52+, get the G2, but 48 and under, get the G1 or look at the force field.

Quality: Agree with Mani C, 6 even for this jacket would be appropriate, 5 if you're not using fru fru leather (which I'm not complaining either way, but the photos make it look - not as supple/soft). At 650 you're paying for good quality, style, and brand recognition. I tend NOT to care about brands but focus on quality. The plus side is, this leather will probably not crack on you.

Features: Would have liked double inside pockets, but you get 3 outside, 1 inside; so 4 instead of 5. I don't like to cram everything into 1 inside pocket - phone, sunglasses, wallet; will it all fit, probably, is it comfortable - no, does it bulge out, yes.

Will update when the weather dips below 60 into the 50s and maybe down to the 40s, may have to put the liner in at that point.

Note: I put True, but the reality is between True and Slightly Large. The reason being true is because this jacket is made for layering underneath, so the sizing accounts for that, it IS NOT a compression fit like Under Armour.

A nice addition for the commuter.
Even though I have a winter Jacket that does the job (TECKNIC). I wanted something that looked less like a Power Ranger suit off the bike. This jacket fit the bill.

FIT:
I normally wear a 56 in Dainese and I'm wearing the same here. Runs slightly big to allow for an extra layer...perfect for my heated liner. Not too boxy. Still maintains an athletic cut to it.

STYLE:
Love when Dianese does a blacked out Jacket with minimal logos. However I think they went a little overboard on the dye. My Black jacket has a bit of a blue tint to it. Maybe this will wear off with time.

PROTECTION:
Haven't gone down in this jacket, but it looks solid. Was a little concerned about the leather. It's REALLY soft & light. Doesn't make me feel as confident as the Tutu leather they use on other Jackets but I'm sure it will hold up going down at normal speeds.

Price. $100 more than it should be in my opinion. The Razon Jacket they make is similar but with a little less leather for $500. I guess you're paying extra for the butter soft leather. Could've done with the heavier tutu leather and a lower price tag to be honest.

Revzilla is great! But when it comes to expensive European items I suggest shopping around ;-)

More fashion jacket than motorcycle jacket
I was looking for a jacket that wouldn't look out of place when wearing casually and this one fits the bill.

The leather is definitely lighter weight and softer than what I look for in a "real" motorcycle jacket and this would not be the jacket I would reach for on a weekend ride or if you were riding at speed with the risk of a fall over 25MPH - it just doesn't seem heavy duty enough to put up with a real fall.

Style is great, and fit is good. There is no venting at all, so clearly a fall/spring jacket, but too light (even with liner) to be a winter jacket for riding even in California. Better for short errands or the ride out to a bar/dinner.

Overall, nicely built but the zippers are crap. Main one jammed on the second zip, so not sure how well it will hold up over time.

Classy, no logos, hubby looks hot in it.
I bought this for my hubby after watching a lot of the reviews. He loves it. I wanted something without a lot of logos so he could wear to work and look like a grown-up It is exactly what I hoped it would be. Got the dark brown, very nice shade.

He's 5'9" about 195, he's built like a tank. I ordered a 52, but it was too tight across the shoulders and back. Ordered another in 54 and it was right on. Very pleased that arms were not too long, which can be an issue for tank-shaped guys.

The back-protector-thingy takes up a lot of space and you can see the outline of it through the jacket. As it softens up, which it has over the last couple weeks, that is becoming less obvious. It is stiff initially, but break in has been easy. The back protector needs to be ordered separately, a must have. As usual, revzilla has exceptional service, makes birthdays and Christmas soooo easy.

Fantastic looking jacket
I was between the REV'IT Gibson and this one. I opted for this one b/c of the armor it has, and I'm also a fan of high collars. This is my first leather jacket, but so far so good. The exact size from my measurements fitted just as my 2-year old textile jacket, so I went a size down as good leather will stretch.
The drawbacks are a bit apparent, the lack of belt/pant loops, only one cuff position, and just one inner pocket on the jacket + liner pocket. It would be really nice to have a few more. e.g. Think cell phone, wallet, keys, bike documents.

Not specific to this jacket, but I'm a big fan of Spidi's ability to couple a chest protector in 99% of their jackets, it would be nice to see this in Dainese and other brands too.

Wanted a good warm subtle leather jacket for the winter. This jacket did exactly what I wanted it to. And it looks great off the bike too. The only issue with the jacket is that the back protector will hit the base of the helmet when in a slight tuck.

Why does Anthony say not to wear this jacket in the rain? I thought thats why you wear leather for the durability factor and rain?
HOUSTON H on Jun 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Most leather jackets don't tolerate rain well, they tend to get a little warped. There are a handful of waterproof leathers but they hover around the $1000 mark.
