Super slim. Super light.
Worn in the hip, these are practically not there for CE2 level protection. In the knees, they don't conform quite as much as would like them to, flaring out just a bit when my knees are bent, but still pretty stealthy and hard to tell they're in. I'd like the outer 1" of tubes to taper in thickness to provide an even slimmer profile, though, it would also compromise its impact protection as it thins, so in all, I'm satisfied with the Phantoms.

Bought these for the SR6 slim 2017's and the SR6 Vintage 2016's. Fit is spot on in the pockets and after adjusting the Velcro attachment length, the coverage is right where I need it.

Great breathable design and very flexible yet takes an impact well (I had hit my knees with baseball bat to test).

Poorly designed integration.
There isn't anything inherently wrong with the pieces of armor themselves. The problem is the way they are integrated into the pants. The way the armor is held into the jeans are just terrible. It is pretty obvious very little R&D actually went into the integration of the armor into the jeans. It seems like they developed the pants, then the armor, and then decided to spent as little time and money as possible putting the two together.

The armor sags insanely due to their flexible nature and only being held in place by a soft fabric pocket inside of the pants. They have an extreme tendency to bunch up, roll over onto themselves, and switch positions. This not only creates weird bulges along your knees/hips, it also feels uncomfortable because all you notice is the balled up armor rubbing against your skin.

I can definitely recommend the pants. Save your money on the armor and just buy another pair of pants instead.

Eh...Could be a lot better
They are light weight and flexible...However, as everyone else has experienced they fold and move within the pocket. Since my SR6 jeans are on the tighter side, the armor does stay in place. However I have to be extremely careful when I put on my pants otherwise the armor will fold...its a PITA...

Yup they move...
Should had took more faith in the reviews about the armor moving around in the Bull-It jeans. I had the jeans on for a few hours walking around the house and my right knee armor was folding down at the bottom.

If they don't even fit right in the jeans they were made for, then I could not recommend them for any use.

Only noticeable if you know they're there
I bought these to go with 2017 Bull-it SR6 Straight jeans. With the armor installed in the knee pockets you can't really tell it's there. They are completely invisible in the hip pockets due to the thickness of the jeans.

While some people have reported that the armor collapses in the pocket, I have yet to have that happen.

I can see how it might happen though. When I put my armor in I noticed that there was extra space below the bottom part of the armor. I folded the closing flap over to remove the extra space. So far, so good.

Sagging
Protectors too flexible that keep sagging down that left the knee cap unprotected, even from it own brand Bull-it SR6 Straight Jean 17. The purpose of protection and comfort are out the window.

I tried the Forcefield Net Flat Elbow/Knee armor but they were much more noticeable in my 2017 Bull-it SR6 Straight jeans. I bought the Forcefield's due to comments about the Bull-it armor collapsing in the pocket but so far I haven't had that problem.

Was on the fence on buying these from the reviews of them sliding around and bending over.. However I'm planning on wearing the SR6 Bull-It jeans around work so having small knee pads will be a nice plus.

will this fit bull-it sr6 cargo jean ?
Hadi A on Jun 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I would assume so, however I would not recommend this armor after purchasing it myself. You will be much better with D3O. The Phantom armor does work well in the hip, just not in the knee.
What kind of material is this made out of? D3O?

So, if I need both Knee and Hip protectors for a pair of jeans, do I need a quantity of two (2) ?
Dave S on May 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, one for the knees and another for the hips.
How many protectors come with this?
