British Customs Retro Turn Signals

Whether you ride a Triumph Modern Classic, Cruiser, Roadster, Supersport, Adventure or Touring bike, you want a clean look that, let's face it, bulky OEM turn signals just don't convey. You could bin them, but riding without turn signals isn't the safest way to go.

The smaller size and classic finishes (choose black, polished or brushed and clear, amber or smoke lenses to match your bike's style) look right and use a standard turn-signal bulb for good visibility and reliability. Bodies are die-cast aluminum, so they'll look good year after year, and thanks to British Custom's selection of adapter brackets and wiring harnesses, they also mount up easily—no hassles with wire cutters, solder and electrical tape.

Features:

  • They look great on any Triumph: Modern Classic, Cruiser, Roadster, Supersport, Adventure or Touring bike
  • Die-cast aluminum bodies
  • All use a standard turn-signal single filament 12V 23W bulb
  • 10mm mounting stem
  • Universal fitment
  • Sold in pairs

Note: Only 2 wire connections per signal, not 3 as seen in some pictures.

Not a turn signal
In bold letters on the packaging it says WARNING 1)These are NOT turn signals and are not to be used where DOT is required.

Also, it wasn't in British Customs packaging (like other products). Instead it was from K&S Technologies in San Diego.

Dont fit with stock wire kit
If you have a bonny or thruxton you will need to buy the wire kit or strip the stock wire housing. Also if you get the smoke lens beware the the light is white and not the DOT regulation orange.

Ups and downs of a cheap part.
After a little more than a year and a few installation and removals as I fiddle with my bike the through bolt just snapped. For the price that are still probably worth it if you are just going to put it on and never touch it. These are 2 wire (non-DOT) style turn signals lights. The hardware is not stainless so it will oxidize and rust.

Retro Indicator smoked Lenses
I ordered these indicators for my Triumph Scrambler with the smoked lens and realized they came stock with white lights, no biggie. I try to unscrew the screws in the front of the lenses and manage to get 1 of 2 screws out no issue. The 2nd is stuck in so tight i am unable to remove it with hand tools, and the screw head strips as the metal is so soft. As mentioned before in other reviews, the lights are not made by British Customs and manufactured by a third party vendor. For the money they are ok, but the hardware holding the lens on is cheap and fragile. If you want to use these out of the box without the amber lenses buy additional light bulbs too.

Overall I would recommend these as a budget friendly option , but beware of the cheap screws on the lenses.

May be just what you need
I recently purchased a set of Hepco & Becker Junior 30s to go on my 2014 All Black T100. Like everybody else who wants to go the H&B route with a Bonnie I wasn't keen on the turn signal re-location concept. It is necessary if you stay with the stock turn signals because the H&B side cases fit very close to the frame and the long stems on the OEM signals get in the way, but I knew I wouldn't like the finished look.

The solution to the problem for me was the short stem British Customs retro turn signals, the installation of which would obviate the need to re-locate the stock signals.

I gave these signals 5 stars for ease of install because on many bikes they would be. Not that easy on a Bonneville because first of all you have to remove the rear fender to remove and dismantle the taillight assembly which means a lot of bolts. Secondly, the connectors on the BC signals are the generic bullet type and won't fit into the T100 wiring harness - nor should they be expected to. What that means is wire cutting, stripping, splicing and electrical tape wrapping if you want to use the Triumph connectors, and I did. It's a straightforward job, but it takes a bit of time.

Once installed the signals looked good. I thought I might have trouble adjusting to the look of these signals with the stock T100 taillight, but I did not. In fact, they pair up rather nicely with the circular reflector on the bottom of the fender and if you weren't among those Bonneville owners who dislike the stock taillight, you won't find the combination of the stock light and these retro signals bothersome. At least I didn't, but this is a purely subjective issue. If you have doubts, check the photo attached. (If I can attach one).

I haven't mounted the side cases yet - a job for the weekend - but I took note that these short stem BC signals sit well inside the shocks so there should be no problems.

As a final note, BC offers a retro tail light called a Lucas-style light that might pair better with these retro signals. Revzilla may even sell it, but if you get it BC told me you have to drill holes for wiring.

Great product
I ordered these and they arrived quickly. Installation was super easy, just a matter of removing the old signals and running these in their place (I bought an adapter too). They work well and can be seen from a considerable distance, day or night. I love the retro look and the price is fantastic.

Awesome For The Price
I bought 2 sets of these to replace my stock front and rear turn signals. Along with that I also replaced the stock tail light assembly. The wiring loom that came with the aftermarket tail light accepted the bullet wire connectors making install a breeze. Only thing I would recommend would be getting some heat shrink to go over the connection and the couple of inches not covered by the wiring sleeve. I used British Customs Rear Turn Signal Relocation Brackets and British Customs Front Turn Signal Bracket and they worked perfectly. For the fronts I used British Customs Turn Signal Harness, made the wiring as easy as possible. These seem to be brighter than stock turn signals and smaller, makes my bike look more streamlined. Love them, highly recommend!

On my Triumph scrambler
They look way better than the big chrome originals on my bike. Finish and quality is better than I expected. Way more protected for when I come off on dirt riding. I like.

Are these sold in pairs or sets of 4?
Adam80 on Oct 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They come 2 per pack. So 33$ for two of them.
Dimensions? I need to know the length (less the threaded the section) in order to fit the signals between the frame and my luggage boxes. In general this query applies to all your turn signal products.
A C on Jun 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: These are about as short-stemmed as you will find. If they don't fit inside your luggage you'll have to use hand signals.
